"If Malcolm Turnbull wants to talk about fringe issues outside party policy, he should resign from the frontbench," Senator Bernardi told the ABC.
"Our longstanding party position is that marriage is between a man and a woman. Our frontbenchers need to reflect that in any comments they make. When you are a frontbencher there is no room for a personal view."
Senator Bernardi correctly has identified that Turnbull is speaking publically contrary to party policy on homosexual marriage to either placate his Sydney pro-homosexual electorate or he is seeking to unseat the Prime Minister by causing a division in his own ranks.
Mr Turnbull lost the leadership to Abbott by favoring Labor’s emissions trading scheme.
At the weekend, Mr Turnbull said the Coalition should allow a conscience vote on homosexual marriage, which he would "certainly" vote for. But by stating this publicly Turnbull is snubbing his nose at his own leader and the party position on immoral homosexual marriage.
The Labor Party seeking to divide the Coalition leadership has asked Mr Turnbull to co-sponsor a private members bill to legalise immoral homosexual marriage. The offer was refused by Turnbull because he is a Cabinet Minister.
Turnbull argues that because Australia is "culturally close" to the UK, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand - Australia should legalize homosexual marriage.

Based on that logic we should also reintroduce: capital punishment
He argues that it looks like Australia is "out of step" on the issue. Well, out of step with current immorality, yes he is right.

Turnbull is playing popular politics, he holds an immoral position on homosexuality, he is stabbing his leader in the back, and he should resign immediately.
