‘The Roe v. Wade of marriage’: pro-family advocates respond

Image
The Supreme Court rulings on Proposition 8 and DOMA defy thousands of years of history and the findings of sociology, undermine citizen democracy, open the door to polygamy, and rewrite thousands of federal laws on family policy with the stroke of a pen, according to pro-family advocates. “Today the Supreme Court issued the  Roe v. Wade  of marriage,” said Penny Nance , president and CEO of  Concerned Women for America (CWA)  after news of the rulings broke. “These rulings will continue to divide our Republic just as  Roe  continues to do 40 years later.” "The Supreme Court rulings fly in the face of reams of research showing that the best household arrangement for children is a married mom and dad,” said Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse, director and senior fellow of  CWA 's Beverly LaHaye Institute. “It represents a national experiment in social reconstruction at the expense of our children's futures and the future of America." “For thousands of...

Boy Scouts stand strong, delay potential policy reversal

Original Boy Scouts of America emblem (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) IRVING, TX , February 8, 2013, ( Heritage Foundation ) - The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced on Wednesday that it will postpone deciding whether to reverse its long-standing membership policy regarding open homosexuality. The decision will now take place at an annual meeting in May. The announcement  last week  of a potential policy change appeared to be in response, at least in part, to intense  outside pressure . For now, the Scouts have decided to stand strong, maintain their policy, and study the issue more carefully. For years, the BSA has been targeted for upholding traditional moral standards and belief in God. Since last summer, when it reaffirmed its membership policy regarding open homosexuality, the pressure has only intensified. Some have disparaged the policy as  intolerant  and  retrograde . Some  corporate   donors  stopped giving because of...

International backlash begins against Obama’s Gay agenda

Image
Image via Wikipedia NEW YORK, January 20 ( C-FAM ) - The citizens of several countries are pushing back against President Obama’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender foreign policy imperative. Leaders in El Salvador launched a website on “Obama’s Corrupting Foreign Policy” and are asking the U.S. Senate to reject Obama’s nominee for ambassador to their country. President Obama announced in December that the promotion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender ( LGBT ) behavior is a top foreign policy priority, even for the U.S. military overseas.  At the same time, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave a high-profile speech at the UN equating LGBT status with religion. The State Department told oambassadors worldwide to recognize “gay pride month,” and it released a list of “accomplishments” including the fact that a U.S. ambassador had published an OpEd promoting the LGBT agenda on behalf of the United States . Mari Carmen Aponte , a temporary ambassador to El Salvador...

Obama and his immoral gay agenda

Image
Image via Wikipedia The Obama State Department has an interesting interpretation of "diplomacy." From  Kenya  to El Salvador , ambassadors are tasked--not with advancing America 's interests--but the interests of the President's radical social agenda. In most cases, this aggressive strategy has made more enemies of nations than friends. Mari Carmen Aponte is Exhibit A. As the U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador , Aponte has taken it upon herself to school an overwhelmingly Christian nation about the "virtues" of homosexuality. In a controversial op-ed, she lectured the Salvadorians about the need to embrace homosexuality. She also implied that the country's disapproval of the aberrant behavior was somehow rooted in ignorance. The column sparked such outrage that leaders of the country have called for her removal "as soon as possible so that El Salvador may enjoy the benefits of having a better person as a government representative..." "Ms...
