‘Absolutely not accurate’: REAL Women’s Gwen Landolt slams CBC for misquote on gay death penalty

The pro-family, pro-life conservative organization REAL Women of Canada is calling a CBC report “absolutely not” accurate that quoted president Gwen Landolt as if she tacitly approved Uganda ’s contemplation of the death penalty for practicing homosexuals. “I don’t know if the CBC did this deliberately or whether it was accidental and they misunderstood [my position],” said Landolt to LifeSiteNews.com. “My whole life I have been utterly opposed to capital punishment and I would never make homosexual execution the exception.” Landolt stated that REAL Women would “never support the death penalty in any circumstance.” “I would never ever in a hundred years say the execution of people is suitable and appropriate. QUEBEC, October 24, 2012  - The Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament , Ms. Rebecca Kadaga , took Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird to task at an international summit in Quebec City for his remarks criticizing Uganda’s ban on same-sex “marriage.” Kadaga accused Baird of harboring a “colonial attitude” towards African nations and interfering in her country’s internal affairs, after Baird, in an address to the Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), denounced Uganda for violating gay rights and oppressing homosexuals. MONTREAL, September 18, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Canada ’s Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird told a gathering in Montreal on Friday that Canada will continue to promote homosexual rights as a key component of foreign policy. Canada’s opposition party to re-introduce controversial ‘transgender’ bill

Image via Wikipedia Canada ’s opposition New Democrat Party is planning to resurrect a controversial transgender bill that had made it to the Senate earlier this year before getting killed by the May federal election. Bill C-389, which sought to add “gender identity” and “ gender expression ” to the Canada Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code’s hate crimes section, had passed the House of Commons in February in a narrow vote of 143-135.  The new bill will be sponsored by the NDP ’s new “ LGBTT ” critic Randall Garrison , reports the Toronto Sun. The February vote was largely along party lines, with the Conservatives opposing and the Liberals, NDP, and Bloc supporting.  Six Conservatives voted in favor, including Ministers John Baird and James Moore.
