Good legislation to protect from LGBT zealots

Image
Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee and 21 other Republicans introduced a bill on Thursday that would protect people and companies that object to immoral homosexual -  same-sex marriage . The bill, called the First Amendment Defense Act , says the federal government cannot change the tax status or deny federal funding to groups who correctly object to homosexual couples, based on their religious beliefs. The bill says that the federal government “shall not take any discriminatory action against a person, wholly or partially, on the basis that such person speaks, or acts, in accordance with a sincerely held religious belief , or moral conviction, that marriage is or should be recognized as a union of one man and one woman; or two individuals as recognized under federal law; or sexual relations outside marriage are improper.” The bill was first introduced back in 2015 , but was never put to a vote. Kansas Republicans vote to ‘oppose all efforts to validate transgender identity’

Image
Bucking the nation’s politically correct transgender tide, the Kansas Republican Party voted this weekend to “oppose all efforts to validate transgender identity.” The resolution affirms “God’s design for gender as determined by biological sex and not by self-perception.” While the Kansas GOP ’s resolution attests to the dignity of all LGBT people , the statement also makes clear that it does not support medical procedures––hormonal or surgical––which aim to affirm people’s perceived, non-biological gender identities .   One intent of the resolution appears to be aimed at counteracting pro-transgender efforts now underway in Kansas’ public school systems. “Some Kansas public schools are encouraging parents and teachers to affirm the feelings of children experiencing gender dysphoria,” reads the approved resolution.  “And some Kansas public schools are allowing access to private facilities according to children’s self-perception of gender and not according ...

Republicans Urge Trump to Enact moral Executive Order

House and Senate Republicans are calling on President Donald Trump to sign a “religious freedom” executive order . The proposed order, “Establishing a Government-Wide Initiative to Respect Religious Freedom ,” would bring back simple protection to those who hold the homosexuality is a grave and dangerous sin. According to a letter from Republican members of Congress , obtained by  USA Today , the order is crucial “to protect millions of Americans whose religious freedom has been attacked or threatened over the last eight years.”  The letter, signed by dozens of Republicans, concludes by again emphasizing the need for the order “so that critical religious liberty and conscience protections may finally be restored to millions of Americans who have been harmed and left unprotected for far too many years.”  At the time the draft order was leaked, White House officials reported to ABC News that the draft was one of many currently circulating the White...

Homosexuality: When ‘Discernment’ Leads to Disaster

Image
English: Furman University - old campus, Greenville, South Carolina Postcard - cropped (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The historic First Baptist Church of Greenville, South Carolina , announced in May that it would declare itself be “open and welcoming” to all people and that it would allow same-sex marriage and ordain openly homosexual ministers. The move came after the church had undergone a “discernment” process under the leadership of a “LGBT Discernment Team.” That team brought a report to the church’s deacons, who then forwarded it to the congregation. The church then approved the statement by standing vote. The statement is very clear: “In all facets of the life and ministry of our church, including but not limited to membership, baptism, ordination, marriage, teaching and committee/organizational leadership, First Baptist Greenville will not discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity.” The   Greenville News   told of the congregation’s discern...
