European gay activists fail in first bid to block grassroots pro-marriage effort

Image
The first attempt to stop a citizens’ initiative to get the European Union to endorse tradition marriage has failed. The “Mum, Dad & Kids” initiative must first gather 1 million signatures by December 11, and then be approved by the European Commission for submission to the European Parliament , and then be approved by a majority of MEPs . As hard as that is likely to prove, the powerful, publicly-funded European branch  of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA Europe ) recently requested that the Court of Justice of the European Union overturn the European Commission’s decision to register the initiative in the first place. But the CJEU has summarily dismissed the request. As the conservative Agenda Europe website has reported, the court declared the request “manifestly inadmissible.” Such decisions by the European Commission are final and not appealable. But the ILGA has other plans to derail the initiative before it...

EU pressure on homosexuality complicates EU-Africa summit

Countries using the Euro de jure Countries and territories using the Euro de facto Countries in the EU not using the Euro (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) April 4, 2014 ( C-FAM ) - European pressure on African nations to change laws on homosexuality has created a backlash that may threaten this week's meeting between leaders of the two continents European officials have been scrambling to appease African leaders ahead of this week’s summit of EU and African leaders in Brussels . The summit is meant to address a host of issues on which the EU and Africa cooperate. Homosexuality is not one of them. African governments reacted negatively when the European Parliament passed a resolution last month threatening sanctions on countries that punish homosexual acts. The resolution was a response to Uganda and Nigeria toughening sodomy laws and outlawing the promotion of homosexuality and same-sex marriage. The European Parliament asked that the governments of Uganda and Nigeria no l...

Homosexual activists aim to ‘destroy the family’, impose ‘totalitarianism’: gay pro-family activist

Image
ROME , February 27, 2014  – “I am a homosexual, but I’m against ‘gay marriage,’” a French pro-family activist told an Italian Catholic opinion paper earlier this month. Jean-Pier-Delaume Myard, spokesman for Manif Pour Tous, told  La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana  that the “sole purpose” of the homosexualist “gay rights” movement is “destroying the family.” Myard gave the interview following the first big pro-family Manif Pour Tous event in Italy on February 11. Myard noted that in a recent talk, he said “we must break the silence” about the real nature of the homosexualist movement, noting that many homosexuals “have nothing to do either closely or from a distance with the gay lobby that has the sole purpose of destroying the family.” “Since the seventies the gay community in the United States has arrogated to itself the right to speak on behalf of all homosexuals in order to destroy marriage and the family,” he told the Catholic paper. At the start, they...

Homosexuality funded by Dutch Government?

Image
Image via Wikipedia Image via Wikipedia Image via Wikipedia Leading European homosexualist “NGO” directly funded by the EU/Dutch govt’ and George Soros This week, a British MEP, Godfrey Bloom , a member of the euro-skeptic United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), has demanded to know why an ostensibly independent NGO, the International Gay and Lesbian Association ( ILGA-Europe ), receives as much as 2/3 of its operating budget directly from the European Commission . Bloom said that the group receives a total of 70 per cent of its funding from taxpayer sources - either from the EU or from the Dutch government. Bloom pointed to IGLA’s published figures for 2011 that said 67.7 per cent of its €1,824,000 budget, (€1,252,600) came from grants from the European Commission. Another €50,000 was granted by the Dutch Government. Of the remaining €521,400 of its budget the group received a total of €402,400 from three individuals: George Soros, Sigrid Rausing and an anonymous donor. The group ...

EU threatens to withhold financial support from Hungary over definition of marriage: report

Image by erjkprunczyk via Flickr BUDAPEST, January 12, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - European Union officials are making their disapproval of Hungary ’s recent constitutional changes felt by threatening to withhold financial support if it does not remove its new amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman, according to one Hungarian source. The so-called “Easter constitution”  adopted  in the post- Communist country last May was a major shakeup for Hungarian politics and an outrage to progressive EU ideology: the document not only supported marriage but declared that the unborn child deserves protection from the moment of conception, and even made special mention of Christianity as lying at the heart of the country’s identity. The document’s discussion of human rights also does not mention sexual orientation, another break from EU priorities. The Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet   claimed  this week that the EU would move to drop financial aid to Hungary...

Homosexual lobby group linked with pro-pedophile groups funded mostly by governments

Image
WASHINGTON, DC , - European human rights lawyer J.C. von Krempach has taken a close look at the funding stream of the International Gay and Lesbian Association – Europe (ILGA) and concluded that most of their money comes from governments.  Writing in the foreign policy blog Turtle Bay and Beyond, von Krempach found a vast majority of ILGA’s funds come from just two governmental entities, the European Commission and the Dutch government . ILGA is an advocacy group promoting homosexual rights. They were notoriously denied UN accreditation for years because of their connection to groups that promote pedophilia. The NGO Committee of the UN Economic and Social Council consistently rejected ILGA until the Economic and Social Council, led by European countries, overruled their decision. Among the requirements for UN NGO accreditation is “the major portion of the organization’s funds should be derived from contributions from national affiliates, individual members, or other non-governm...

Homosexuals teaching in Catholics Schools

Image
Image via Wikipedia In a September, Elzbieta Radziszewska , a senior Polish official who deals with anti-discrimination issues, told a Catholic newspaper that church-owned schools and colleges could refuse to hire homosexuals and could fire those already employed where that is consistent with their church's values and principles.   Yesterday's  Christian Century  reports that  European Union Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding disagrees, saying that sexual orientation cannot be a genuine occupational requirement for a teacher.  On October 26, in response to parliamentary questions, Redding issued a written statement saying that while under EU's  directive on equal treatment in employment religious organizations are allowed to take a person's religion or belief into account where necessary, that exception does not justify discrimination on ground other than religion or belief.  Radziszewska responded that the EU directive allows religiou...
