Evidence piles in against - homosexual marriage

Image
Evidence is beginning to filter through that detail the consequences of legislating for homosexual “marriage” across nations and states. In an important submission to the UK House of Commons public bill committee on the   Marriage (Same-Sex Couples) Bill 2012-13,   researcher Patricia Morgan reviewed data from countries that had, to the time of publication on March 1, 2013, redefined marriage in their countries. [2] The focus of her paper is to evaluate the claims “that opening up marriage to same-sex couples will actually strengthen the institution... (and) that same-sex marriage will thus serve the common good as well as promoting equality”. [3] Contrary to current propaganda, the findings depict a very negative picture. For example, contrary to the mantra that homosexual “marriage” does not affect your marriage, she finds that “opposite-sex relationships have to conform to gay norms, rather than vice versa, since matters pertaining to complementary sexes cannot ...

US and EU push Africans once more on abortion and homosexuality

Image
NEW YORK , April 11, 2014 ( C-FAM.org ) - Africans are crying foul after wealthy Western countries ambushed them with a draft resolution that re-opens the troublesome issues of abortion and homosexuality in UN negotiations. “You have set a precedent here that will not be forgotten,” said a representative from Cameroon at a briefing three weeks ago. Western countries have proposed a resolution for the annual UN Commission on Population and Development that surreptitiously endorses abortion and homosexuality, even though Africans asked to avoid those controversies. The U.S., European and some Latin countries are increasingly insistent on homosexuality and abortion ahead of negotiations over a new UN development agenda in September, desperate to include homosexuality and abortion in future development efforts. Africans for their part don’t want to be pressured on these issues, and have repeatedly stated that these are matters best left to countries individually. When powe...

Nobody is ‘born that way,’ gay historians

Image
LGBT flag map of Brazil (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Virtually no serious person disputes that in our society, people generally experience their gay or straight orientations as unchosen and unchangeable. But the LGBT community goes further, portraying itself as a naturally arising subset of every human population, with homosexuality being etched into some people’s DNA. Are gays indeed born that way? The question has immense political, social, and cultural repercussions. For example, some of the debate over applying the Constitution’s equal protection clause to gays and lesbians focuses on whether gayness is an inborn characteristic. And the major argument gays and lesbians have made for religious affirmation has been, “God made me this way.” Thus, if it’s proven sexual orientations are not innate, much of the scaffolding upon which today’s LGBT movement has been built would begin to crumble. Given the stakes, most gays and lesbians are dismissive or hostile toward anyone who doesn...

Homosexual world is at war with Christ

Image
I have told you people again and again. You will be made to care. Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant and then it seeks to silence good. Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan, honestly answered questions during an GQ interview. He spoke openly of his Christian faith . Because he offended a secular left at war with orthodox Christianity, he must be punished. Phil Robertson both chose to put their respective faiths ahead of profits. What we should not shy away from is that Phil Robertson articulated very Biblical doctrine. He referenced scripture. Homosexual acts are, in fact, sinful according to the Bible. And as society begins to openly tolerate as normal things that really are not normal behaviors, society tends to start loosening up across the board as it descends down a slippery slope. But Robertson also admonished Christians to love. He said Christians are not to judge, but to love. As Rick Warren has said, Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first...

Free speech concerns as UN pushes ‘sexual orientation’ as equal to ‘race,’ ‘religion’

Image
Image via Wikipedia NEW YORK, January 13, 2012 ( C-FAM ) Tension between free speech advocacy and efforts to curb “hate speech” has arisen over the past year as the result of recent initiatives at the United Nations (UN) and by the Obama administration. Freedom of opinion and expression have long been recognized as fundamental, and a recent UN Human Rights Committee “ General Comment ” affirmed these twin liberties as “the foundation stone for every free and democratic society.” Yet while heralding these bedrock rights, others are seeking to curtail criticism of homosexual behavior and shelter certain religions from “defamation.” Such efforts also butt against religious liberty and conscience rights, two other bright constellations in the firmament of fundamental rights. The tension became evident in a 2010 initiative by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), which sought to reconcile broad free speech protections found in Article 19 of the International C...
