Homosexual Marriage Bill totally inadequate

Image
The Liberal senator Eric Abetz has rejected the cross-party marriage equality bill drafted by Dean Smith, in a sign a yes vote in the marriage law survey would lead to further government infighting about which bill to use to legislate the reform. Abetz told Guardian Australia the bill – which is co-signed by four Liberal supporters of same-sex marriage and which Labor will support to legislate marriage equality – is “not an acceptable starting point”. He said the bill “is seriously inadequate, as parents, freedom of speech and religious freedom, along with conscientious objection, all need full protection”. Conservatives are working on their own same-sex marriage bill, which the assistant minister to the treasurer, Michael Sukkar, has said should include a “no detriment” clause to allow people to reject same-sex marriage in all walks of life. The marriage law survey closed on Tuesday afternoon. The Australian Bureau of Statistics will announce the results on Wednesday 15 Novem...

Australia: SBS CEO's support for marriage equality is 'political activism': Abetz

Image
Liberal Senator Eric Abetz is calling on SBS's chief executive to explain a move the Tasmanian senator has labelled ' political activism '. Senator Abetz says SBS chief executive Michael Ebeid must explain why he has signed and defended a letter calling for marriage equality to the prime minister and whether his actions have breached the SBS's policies and editorial independence . Mr Ebeid is one of 30 self-described "business, industry and community leaders" to have written to the prime minister urging him to allow the Australian people to determine whether to change the definition of marriage. Senator Abetz said the move amounted to political activism and was out of step with the SBS's charter and breached SBS's editorial independence. His criticism comes just days after Immigration Minister Peter Dutton slammed Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce for his public stance on homosexual marriage. Mr Dutton told Mr Joyce to "go back and se...

What’s behind the war on the innocence of children?

Image
Safe Schools (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Australia; Victoria has become the epicentre of a bizarre war on the innocence of children driven by an LGBTIQ agenda about which parents are kept deliberately clueless. In this week’s E-news you can read ACL Victorian Director   Dan Flynn’s responses to the latest revelations   about what will become compulsory through the so called “Respectful Relationships” program. Victoria is where the so-called “ Safe Schools ” program originated and “Respectful Relationships” draws from the same rainbow ideology. It is extreme sexual expressionism taught to high school students as normal all dressed up as an anti-domestic violence initiative. It is unclear how the normalisation of often degrading sexual acts helps in the war against domestic violence or helps boys learn respect for girls. In this week’s E-news we also release   a new paper that delves in detail behind the ideology that is driving “Safe Schools” and “Respectf...

Australia: Warren Entsch rejects conservatives' call for 'right to refuse' gay weddings

Image
Liberal MP Warren Entsch has called for exemptions to discrimination law for same-sex marriage to be “as narrow as possible”, rejecting calls by conservatives to allow businesses the “right to refuse” gay weddings. Entsch told Guardian Australia that only ministers of religion and religious organisations should be able to refuse gay weddings, not other providers of goods and services . Liberal National party MP George Christensen has called for venues, photographers and bakers to be allowed to refuse gay weddings, and senator Cory Bernardi said all businesses should be free to refuse service to anyone for any reason at all. Cory Bernardi says all businesses should be free to refuse service to anyone The ambit claims by the two conservatives set them on a collision course with the attorney general, George Brandis, who is believed to favour narrower protections for religious organisations and civil celebrants. Entsch said: “We’ve always said protections for religious organisat...

Printer intimidated by book?

Image
A printer has reportedly pulled out from publishing a book on same sex marriage written by a Toowoomba doctor because of its controversial subject matter. Television host Andrew Bolt , speaking on Sky News , said the printer had previously agreed to print the book, which argues against homosexual marriage . The book, named "Stealing From a Child: The Injustice of Marriage Equality" was written by Dr David van Gend and is due to be officially launched at a function in Brisbane tonight. groups are planning to protest the book, arguing it is inflammatory and denigrates gay people. The book has the support of the Australian Marriage Forum, of which Dr van Gend is president, and former Toowoomba councillor Lyle Shelton from the Australian Christian Lobby . Australia: Safe schools: the real school yard bullies

Image
It's a sorry state of affairs when a vocal minority starts to dictate to even members of that very minority what they can and cannot think. Sadly, that's exactly the place we have now reached in Australia around matters of gender and sexuality. The current discussion about the so-called 'safe schools' program has been laughable with advocates of the program showing a complete lack of 'tolerance' and full aggression to anyone who doesn't share their bizarre world view . LGBT and diminishing free speech in Australia

Image
There has been outrage at the  prosecution of   Tasmanian Catholic Archbishop Julian Porteous   ( pictured above ) for simply distributing a booklet explaining the  Catholic Church's teachings on marriage  to its members.  If the Archbishop loses this case, it will be unlawful for a minister of religion to explain to his or her congregation the church's teaching on marriage.  I have publicly supported   the Archbishop  and co-sponsored a motion in the Senate by (introduced by Tasmanian Senator Eric Abetz ) upholding religious freedom and free speech .  The case has highlighted how unbalanced the debate will be on the redefinition of marriage , with activists launching legal action against people of religious conscience.  I made a recent   speech against the Plague of Political Correctness   which got a lot of coverage on Facebook . Australia says no to Homosexual marriage

Image
English: Kevin Rudd, 26th Prime Minister of Australia. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Opposition Leader Bill Shorten should have nothing to fear from the Australian people being allowed to have a say on changing the definition of marriage, according to the Australian Christian Lobby . ACL Managing Director Lyle Shelton said it was disappointing to see Mr Shorten impute improper motives to ACL for wishing to see the issue be decided by a vote of the people. Mr Shelton, who hosted Mr Shorten at the organisation's national conference last year, said that while disagreeing with him on marriage welcomed his call at the time for a respectful debate. "I believe we can continue to be respectful even though we are on different sides of this debate. "However, our preference for the Australian people to be given a say is of course motivated by our desire for there to be a fair and open public debate. People should not have to be afraid to speak because of fear of being labelled...

Same sex marriage madness becomes intolerant

The same-sex marriage debate entered a new phase of intolerance with Labor voting to expel parliamentarians who advocate man-woman only marriage. In two Parliaments time , Labor MPs and Senators who vote against redefining marriage will be expelled from the party. Australian Christian Lobby Managing Director Lyle Shelton said this was devastating for the millions of ethnic, indigenous and religious Australians who will never support a state-imposed redefinition of marriage . “Sadly this is a cynical ploy to force the Coalition to drop its policy on marriage when Labor’s real agenda is one of intolerance to its own who dissent. “If this is the principle Labor forces its people to comply with, what will be the out-working of this principle on dissenters when it is next in power? “Will there be freedom of conscience to choose not to provide services to same-sex weddings ? “Will Christian, Muslim and Jewish schools be allowed to teach children a definition of marriage that the party...

Australian Senate defeats Greens and Gay politicians move to abandon Lord’s Prayer at start of day

Image
CANBERRA, Australia, February 13, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - In only 24 seconds the latest effort to have the Lord's Prayer removed from the start of the Australian Senate 's day was defeated, with senators from both the coalition government and the opposition Labor Party voting against it. Under the Senate’s standing order, the president of the Senate is required to read the parliamentary prayer upon taking his chair at the start of the day, regardless of adjournment or suspension from the day before. Australia's Senate chamber The motion against the reading of the prayer, advanced by Greens  Sen. Richard Di Natali , was to have the Senate officially refer the matter to the procedure committee, which is already tasked with reviewing the existing standing orders.  The Greens party has a member on the committee and a spokesman told LifeSiteNews the issue would be actively pursued.  They wish to have the prayer replaced with an invitation to a minute of silence...

Lara Gidding's illegal homosexual stunt

Image
English: The logo of the Australian Greens political party. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Tasmanian Premier Lara Giddings  is seeking to force Federal Labor to support same sex marriage and in so doing is seeking to force all Australians to support her immoral legislation. Who does she think she is? Even though Gay and lesbian couples gathered in the public gallery of the House of Assembly to hear the bill debated she chose not to mention those who don't support her stunt. There are literally thousands of people who have been bullied into silence over coming out against homosexuality and homosexual marriage.  With support from the extreme Greens it has little chance of passing the Upper house. Placard carrying supporters of gay marriage greeted about 250 people turning up to a "Save Marriage" meeting at the University of Tasmania last night. The 50-person vigil outside the Stanley Burbury Theatre was peaceful with only a few jeers, as people arrived to attend the mee...
