Hallmark commits to ‘LGBTQ storylines,’ caves to left-wing pressure

Image
One of television’s last refuges from identity politics will soon be no more, as the Hallmark Channel announced it will add homosexual and/or transgender stories to its film slate. “Diversity and inclusion is a top priority for us and we look forward to making some exciting programming announcements in the coming months, including announcements about projects featuring LGBTQ storylines, characters, and actors,” a Hallmark spokesperson revealed to People after receiving online complaints about the lack of obvious LGBT content in its 2020 lineup of holiday movies. “We are committed to creating a Hallmark experience where everyone feels welcome." For years, the Hallmark Channel’s made-for-TV movies have been a source of wholesome comfort entertainment in contrast to Hollywood’s increasingly “woke” output, which has also made it a target of pro-LGBT activists. Last fall, the channel temporarily aired a commercial for the wedding planning service Zola, featuring a same-sex “we...

Sesame Street goes gay

Image
The long-running PBS children’s television program Sesame Street showed its support for LGBT “Pride Month” with a social media post shared on Twitter and Facebook last week. “On our street, we accept all, we love all, and we respect all. Happy #PrideMonth!” says the Twitter post dated June 11, from the official Sesame Street account @sesamestreet. Sesame Street was not the only kids’ show that voiced a message of support for the LGBT activist–backed “Pride Month,” which promotes the homosexual lifestyle and gender-fluidity. Also tweeting in support of “Pride Month” was the kids’ network Nickelodeon, which posted a tweet featuring a trio of its popular characters in colorful dress. “Celebrating #Pride with the LGBTQ+ community and their allies this month and every month,” said the June 13 Nickelodeon tweet. The LGBT-backed “Pride Month” was also supported by the Cartoon Network, who celebrated with social media advertising and special videos along with shows approved by t...

Netflix defends packing shows with LGBT ‘representation’: ‘every gay person is very necessary’

Image
Even in a world as uniformly left-wing as Hollywood, Netflix’s weakness stands out, from leading the pro-abortion mob against Georgia to controversial productions such as The Two Popes. Some LGBT roles are inserted that have nothing at all to do with the storyline of the movie but are a sidetrack to satisfy a lobby group. It portrays the weakness of directors of movies.  Then we have aggressive LGBT roles where suddenly the dialogue goes sideways and we have a lengthy tiresome illogical justification of immoral LGBT. So we go from entertainment to LGBT agenda.  But one of the most pervasive manifestations of the streaming platform’s priorities is its glut of LGBT content. “LGBTQ” is a specific searchable genre, and one 2017 list counted a whopping 57 shows on the platform featuring gay characters. Naturally, not everyone is impressed, as evidenced by this tweet going viral last week:  The visual apparently resonated with enough people that Netflix’s social m...

Beloved Chuck Norris show ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ will get pro-LGBT reboot

Image
Fans of the beloved old CBS show Walker, Texas Ranger will be sorely disappointed to hear it will be getting the CW treatment in its reboot. In addition to Walker getting a new female partner, media reported on Wednesday that he will have a “gay, conservative younger brother.” The new series will be titled simply Walker and star Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) who will also executive produce. The original, which starred Chuck Norris as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker and aired eight seasons from 19930–2001, was a wholesome, moral show about good vs. evil and roundhouse kicks. With the show, movie actor and world champion martial artist Norris gained a cult following that went beyond the series and spurred comedic and fantastical “Chuck Norris facts,” like “Chuck Norris can strangle you with a cordless phone” or “Death once had a near-Chuck-Norris experience.” According to Variety, Keegan Allen was brought on to play Walker's brother Liam in the revival: Described as smart, s...

Cartoon Network promotes LGBT agenda with lesbian kiss in kids show ‘Adventure Time’

Image
Last week, Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time became the latest example of mainstream American animation presenting homosexual attraction to young audiences, highlighting a trend that appears to be accelerating. Premiering in 2010,  Adventure Time  is a fantasy adventure series mixing humor and drama in a surreal setting. The September 3 series finale  featured a scene  in which two female characters, Marceline the Vampire Queen and Princess Bubblegum, confirmed years of hints and fan speculation that they were lesbian by kissing each other on the lips. “We knew that if we put this in, it would get some attention. But would it be too much attention?” said executive producer Adam Muto, who explained that the moment wasn’t in the original script and came at the insistence of storyboard artist Hanna Nyström. “Or would we be downplaying it too much? We knew we wanted to incorporate it, and in the end, you just have no control over how people will remembe...

CW announces lesbian ‘Batwoman’ television series

Image
The CW’s popular lineup of DC Comics superhero shows is getting a new addition that’s all but certain to be the most “social justice”-heavy yet. The superheroine Batwoman (not to be confused with the more well-known Batgirl) is set to be the focus of the new live-action series, the Hollywood Reporter reveals , following her debut in a crossover event for the next seasons of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. Moreover, the project will lean heavily into one of the defining aspects of the character’s modern incarnation: her sexuality. “[A]rmed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind,” Kate Kane “soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence,” the show’s summary reads. It will be executive produced by Greg Berlanti, the openly-gay overseer of the CW’s current DC shows, and scripted by Caroline Dries of The Vampire Diaries fame. ComicBook.com adds that...

Ontario Liberals paid $4 million - TV ads pushing graphic sex-ed & LGBT agenda

Image
The Ontario Liberal government spent $4 million in taxpayers dollars on an online and television advertising campaign in September 2015 to sell its controversial sex-ed curriculum, LifeSiteNews has learned through documents obtained in a Freedom of Information request . Email correspondence from Education Minister Liz Sandals also reveals she opposed MPPs holding constituency community meetings on contentious the sex-ed curriculum, which was rolled out in Ontario’s publicly funded schools September 2015, and that she was especially concerned the LGBTQ community was satisfied with the sex-ed television ads. The sex-ed curriculum introduces homosexuality in Grade 3, masturbation in Grade 6, oral and anal sex in Grade 7, and teaches that there are six genders rather than two biological sexes, according to a detailed analysis of the Campaign Life Coalition . The Liberals had already spent $1.8 million for sex-ed radio ads in May 2015, so adding $4 million for the online and...

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) A video produced for Lithuanian television stations by homosexual activists is being investigated by an ethics watchdog after TV three different TV stations refused to air it. “The video contains elements that need to be evaluated by experts. It will happen not earlier than September,” Zita Zamzickienė, Lithuanian Journalistic Ethics Inspector, said in a statement to Baltic News Service (BNS). The video spot was created by the Lithuanian Gay League, the country’s leading homosexualist lobby group, affiliated with the politically powerful ILGA Europe . BNS reports that three major television stations, LNK, TV3 and Lietuvos Ryto TV , have refused the ad under concerns that it may violate the Law on the Protection of Minors Against the Detrimental Effect of Public Information that prohibits promotion of homosexuality. TV3 asked the office of the ethics inspector...

How should we engage the pro homosexual minority?

Image
Logo of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Yesterday I spoke with you about the increasing hostility toward those of us who disagree with the ongoing normalization of homosexual conduct and so-called “gay marriage.” In recent months we’ve seen people as varied as pro football players, TV stars, restaurant owners, wedding photographers, and others face fines, suspensions, and even the loss of their livelihoods for failing to celebrate the new sexual orthodoxy. We’re going to have to get used to it, I’m afraid. At a recent prayer breakfast in Washington, DC, Professor Robert George , chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom , said it more eloquently than I can. “The days of acceptable Christianity are over. . . It's no longer easy to be a faithful Christian. . . They threaten us with consequences if we refuse to call what is good, evil, and what is evil, good. They demand us to conform ou...

Number of gay characters on TV at all time high: ‘Glee,’ ‘True Blood’ have the most

Image
HOLLYWOOD, October 5, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Never before have there been so many homosexual characters portrayed on broadcast and cable television, according to the latest report from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation ( GLAAD ). The 17th annual  Where We Are On TV  report found that LGBT characters account for 4.4 percent of scripted series regulars in the 2012-2013 broadcast television schedule. This is up from 2.9 percent in 2011, 3.9 percent in 2010, 3 percent in 2009, 2.6 percent in 2008 and 1.1 percent in 2007. GLAAD’s study reviewed 97 scripted television programs scheduled to air this upcoming season on broadcast networks, and counted a total of 701 series regular characters. Thirty-one of those are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT), as are an additional 19 recurring characters. ABC has the highest amount with 5.2 percent (10 out of 194) of their regular characters identifying as LGBT. After leading last year, Fox is in seco...
