A Catholic school board in Ontario will vote next week on a motion to fly the rainbow-colored homosexual pride flag at all board-run schools during the month of June. Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) Trustee Brenda Agnew gave notice of her motion titled “supporting our diverse school community” during an April 6 board meeting. Quoting Pope Francis along with LGBT talking points about “equity and inclusion,” the motion calls for the Board’s Director of Education Pat Daly to “direct all HCDSB schools including the Catholic Education Centre to fly the Pride flag during the month of June starting with 2021.” The motion is expected to be voted on by the Board at their next meeting on April 20. With nine trustees, the motion requires five votes to pass. A tied vote results in a fail. LGBT activists have launched a  mail campaign  asking a bishop to immediately remove a priest who cautioned his parishioners against attending so-called “Pride” events. An online  form letter  composed by the activists claims that Fr. Robert Chisholm of St. Gregory the Great Parish in Picton, Ontario, “went against what Pope Francis has repeatedly spoken about: the need for the Catholic Church to welcome and love all people regardless of sexual orientation. Last week we spoke to a mom who is on the parents council at her elementary school in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). The mother shared with us that she had asked her Principal for advance notice of all Sex-ed lessons so she could choose whether or not to withdraw her child from class. The Principal stunned her with the following answer:  "We cannot give you advance notice because Sex-ed will be weaved throughout all subjects ". She is now in a battle with her school to have her parental rights respected. A few weeks ago, at the invitation of several parent organizations, I traveled from New York to Toronto and addressed a crowd of almost one thousand people. A Catholic vice-principal in Ontario who declared she was ‘gay’ days before retirement, while admitting to being in a lesbian partnership, says that she used her position of influence for 28 years in a Catholic school board to advance the LGBTQ cause. “I’ve been doing the work for support for LGBTQ people for a long time, for actually the 28 years I’ve been in the board,” Joan Grundy, retiring vice-principal at St. Mary's Catholic High School in Kitchener, told CTV News .
