The Pope said - God made gays

Image
According to an article in  El Pais ,  Spain ’s largest newspaper, Pope Francis told a male sex abuse victim: “ God made you gay.” The comments were allegedly made during a meeting between Pope Francis and the victims of Chilean Catholic sex-offender priest Fernando Karadima . One of the men abused by the priest, former seminarian  Juan Carlos Cruz , described his meeting with Pope Francis. Jesuit priest James Martin posted a link to the interview on his social media accounts which included a translation of one comment made by the Pope to Cruz: James Martin, SJ ✔ @JamesMartinSJ 20 May Pope Francis: "God made you gay." https:// infovaticana.com/2018/05/19/cru z-asegura-papa-le-dijo-dios-te-gay/  … James Martin, SJ ✔ @JamesMartinSJ "Juan Carlos, that you are gay does not matter. Catholics paint over giant pornographic mural depicting Cardinal

Image
SYDNEY, Australia ,  -- A giant pornographic mural of Cardinal George Pell and former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott engaging in a homosexual act was painted over by outraged Catholics who called the mural a “direct attack on Christians or anyone who believes in a God.” Last Friday, a day after the mural was painted over, a group of about 20 Catholics visited the site of the painted-out mural to pray the rosary in reparation. They knelt down opposite the painted-out mural and bowed their heads as they prayed. One young man wielding a thurible purified the area with holy incense (view photos  here ). The mural was painted on a hotel wall in Sydney by pro-homosexual street artist Scott Marsh to celebrate Australia recently voting in favor of homosexual “marriage.” Both Abbott and the Cardinal are notable defenders of marriage between a man and a woman ( Warning: graphic content –  view full mural  here ).  Titled “The Happy Ending,”...

Media: Time to burn Christians?

Image
Author: Andrew Bolt.  There's a smell of burning Christian. And the royal commission into child sexual abuse in institutions is stoking a hot fire. The commission opened yesterday with ominous warnings that suggest the Catholic Church will be under serious ideological attack. Royal commissioner Peter McClellan declared there had been "changes in power" in society, thanks in part to the "women's movement" , and we should expect "changes in the culture and management practices of institutions". Was he referring to the church? Must it fit in more with these secular, feminist and even anti-clerical times? Incidentally, all three barristers assisting the commission are women. True, McClellan will also investigate abuse in state-run institutions and even sporting clubs, but his commission will inevitably be influenced by a media-class culture that has a patricidal hatred of the Catholic Church to the exclusion of worse sinners. Take comedian Jos...

ABC is pro-gay and anti-Christian

Image
The status of Cardinal George Pell , the Catholic archbishop of Sydney, seems to differ according to the issues in which he is involved. When Pell expresses scepticism about human-induced climate change, there is invariably a rush to computers and microphones to declare that he is not head of the Catholic Church in Australia . Last month, Bishop Pat Power, a long-time critic of Pell, declared the Cardinal's position on climate change was not in the tradition of "mainstream Australian Catholicism" and was contrary to the position of Pope Benedict XVI . Yet when Pell is involved, however indirectly, in a controversy about sexual abuse or any other scandal, there is a tendency to depict him as managing director of Australian Catholicism, responsible for all its sins of commission and omission. This is not the case - as ABC producers and presenters should know. The formal head of the church is the president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference - Archbishop Den...

Andrew Wilkie,  (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Archbishop Peter Jensen ... 'not all can be or should be married. PARLIAMENT will once again be embroiled in the issue of gay marriage from today as two private members' bills to legalise such unions are debated in the House of Representatives, with a vote on the bills likely to come after the winter session of Parliament. A report by the House of Representatives social policy and legal affairs committee on the two bills, one from Labor's Stephen Jones and one from the Greens MP Adam Bandt and the independent MP Andrew Wilkie , will also be tabled this morning. The committee's chairman, Labor MP Graham Perrett , said it was the largest committee inquiry ever held, with responses ''pretty strongly in support'' of change. The committee used an online poll to gauge community sentiment, with 276,437 people responding and 64 per cent backing legalisation.  Was anybody aware of this poll, except the hom...

Premier Kristina Keneally berates George Pell

Image
Image via Wikipedia New South Wales Premier Kristina Keneally has strongly berated Cardinal George Pell , saying she is greatly “saddened” by his recent comments criticizing Christian politicians who disregard Church teaching. She said she believes Pell risks being “interpreted as condemnatory and threatening.” Kealey who bills herself as a devout Catholic, opposes Church teaching on homosexuality and abortion. In an interview with the Herald Sun earlier this month, Cardinal Pell had criticized politicians who “fly under the Christian or Captain Catholic flag” but “blithely disregard Christian perspectives” when facing a vote on moral issues in parliament. “I read those comments from the Archbishop and, if anything, they saddened me,” Keneally  told  the Sunday Telegraph . “Almost every Catholic politician I know takes their responsibility as an elected representative and their faith very seriously,” said the Premier. “Many have really struggled, as have I, when moral iss...
