California bans travel to states that protect Christians who oppose gay ‘marriage’

Image
The state of California has ordered a travel ban for its government employees to states that have adopted laws to protect religious freedom. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra , a pro-abortion Democrat, has  unilaterally prohibited all state-sanctioned trips  to Alabama , Kentucky, South Dakota , and Texas because those states have passed legislation allowing those who uphold natural marriage and biological gender to live by their sincerely-held beliefs. Becerra’s actions are designed to pressure target states to abandon religious freedom laws protecting Christians who oppose sodomy and/or disagree with gender theory.   The latest four additions bring California’s “No Visiting List” to eight states in the lower 48, or eight percent of the country. Becerra noted his reasons for adding the four states: Alabama enacted a law in May that allows Christian adoption agencies to follow their faith’s moral criteria for placing children in homes. Their ...

Marine fired for posting a Bible verse over her desk

The courthouse for the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces at Judiciary Square in Washington, DC. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) A Marine was court-martialed for putting a tiny slip of paper with an encouraging Bible verse on her desk. In May 2013, Lance Cpl. Monifa Sterling put Isaiah 54:17 (“No weapon formed against you shall prosper”) on her desk at Camp Lejune, North Carolina . Her gay superior cursed at her and told her to take it down. When she didn’t, the superior took it and threw it away. Sterling was taken to military court and convicted in 2014 for refusing to obey orders. Her rank was reduced to Private and she was given a “bad conduct” discharge, which has since made it hard to find a job. The military considered her Bible verse “contrary to good order and discipline.” The Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces upheld Sterling’s conviction. The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) of 1993 allows men and ...

Judge won't hear gay adoptions because it's not in a child's 'best interest'

ARE HOMOSEXUAL MEN WHO ADOPT - IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE KIDS? NO LOUISVILLE --- A family court judge who sits in Barren and Metcalfe counties has announced he will no longer hear adoption cases involving “homosexual parties” because he believes allowing a gay person to adopt could never be in the child's best interest. This is a good thing and reflects what the majority of people historically and currently agree with - regardless of fake LGBT limited research claiming the opposite. Judge W. Mitchell Nance, who begins court each day by requiring everyone to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance , said in an order this week that he would recuse himself from all adoptions involving gay people . Nance cited a judicial ethics rule that says a judge must disqualify himself when he has a personal bias or prejudice. He said in the order issued Thursday that “as a matter of conscience” he believes that “under no circumstance” would “the best interest of the child be promoted by the a...

Tennessee just passed a new law meant to undermine immoral LGBTQ activities

Image
Words in state law must be interpreted as having “natural and ordinary meaning” under a bill passed by the Tennessee Senate on Thursday. Critics call it a biblical way of encouraging state judges to deny immoral homosexual activities to gay couples and transgender people. LGBT groups lamented the 23-6 vote and immediately began prodding Republican Gov. Bill Haslam for a veto, but his spokeswoman Jennifer Donnals said he is “deferred to the will of the legislature.” The House approved the same legislation last month. Sarah Kate Ellis , president and wing nut of the immoral LGBT rights group GLAAD , which manipulates movies and media to put as much gay sex on the screen, said the bill would be bad for business and “set a dangerous precedent that could place the well-being of LGBTQ Tennesseans in jeopardy.” Bad for Business ! Really? What a joke argument! The legislation has been pushed by the Family Action Council of Tennessee, which advocates for one-man, one-woman marriage. Th...

Obama invites transgender activist who fought bathroom privacy law to White House to use his bathroom?

Image
President Obama has invited a transgender activist who lobbied against a bathroom privacy law to attend a special White House ceremony celebrating LGBT Pride Month on Thursday. Dr. Renee McLaughlin led efforts against a   Tennessee bill   that would have responded to LGBT activism by barring members of one biological sex from using the intimate facilities of the opposite sex. “I know that will be me in harm's way,” McLaughlin, a 52-year-old post-operative transgender physician, told the Chattanooga   Times Free Press . A group of 60 major corporations opposed the legislation before Rep. Susan Lynn, R- Mt. Juliet ,   withdrew   the bill in April. "On behalf of my company, as well as myself, I'm very active in LGBT issues, particularly around increasing access to health care, and of course social justice issues as well. I've been active in a number of national organizations," McLaughlin said . President Obama mentioned the issue of transgender re...

Embracing homosexuality is America’s future, Obama says in State of the Union

Image
President Obama hailed gay "marriage" as one of his proudest accomplishments and looked forward to the day when Americans would shed traditional sexual morality to embrace homosexuals in his final State of the Union address last night. The president told a combined chamber of Congress , Cabinet members, and most of the Supreme Court that upholding our "unique strengths as a nation" and heeding the "spirit of progress" made our national celebration of sexual minorities possible. "That's how we secured the freedom in every state to marry the person you love," Obama said early in his rather short national address. The reference to a highly contested, 5-4 Supreme Court decision infuriated pro-family advocates. "The Republican leadership ought to set aside an empty chair in the front of the chamber to represent the more than 50 million Americans whose votes in support of traditional marriage were stolen by...an anti-constitut...

Court drops hate crime charge against Swiss bishop for speaking about homosexuality

Image
The Swiss Bishop of Chur , Bishop Vitus Huonder, was sued by a homosexual organization, Pink Cross, and charged with a hate crime because, in a public talk in Fulda, Germany , on 31 July, he had the Old Testament concerning practicing homosexuals. On October 9, however, the official website of the Swiss Bishops ' Conference, kath.ch,   reported   that the responsible State Court in Graubünden, Switzerland , has dropped this suit due to a lack of sufficient grounds for the charge. As the representative of Bishop Huonder, Guiseppe Gracia, told LifeSiteNews: “The lawsuit was an attempt to penalize the freedoms of religion and of speech for those who are of a different opinion.” However, according to Gracia, this attempt did not have any success. This was especially “good news for all those who take seriously the claim to practice mutual tolerance.” The Swiss Bishops' website also reports that, in addition to the male homosexual association, Pink Cross, a female homos...

Oppose Homosexual marriage you get silenced, sacked, fined and jailed

Image
Rainbow flag. Symbol of gay pride. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) REMEMBER school debating ? Where both sides got a turn and the other team sat listening quietly and respectfully? We need more of that – a version for mature, hopeful, civilised grown-ups. The current debate over same-sex marriage is one-sided, volatile, even violent. In the movement to open up and move forward, the side that supports the prevailing laws and conventions is increasingly silenced. And it is not only same-sex marriage that features this concerning trend. In the explosive social media spaces particularly, there are now some views you are seemingly not allowed to express – and by doing so are called a bigot. Oh, the irony. You can’t support cracking down on illegal migration, or even express concerns about radical minority religious elements or minority groups when they are revealed to commit a disproportionate amount of a particular kind of crime, even though you are allowed the virtual elbow room to spout...

Supporters of marriage across the country have been charged by governmental entities with "discrimination"

Image
English: Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Now that the US Supreme Court has illegitimately redefined marriage , it's open season on Christians and other people of faith who continue to believe that marriage is the union of one man and one woman. Supporters of marriage across the country have been charged by governmental entities with "discrimination" and subsequently fined , shamed and punished. In Washington , the state Attorney General is suing a 70-year old grandmother simply because she didn't want to personally participate in arranging flowers for a gay 'wedding' because doing so violates her religious beliefs. He has threatened her with financial ruin unless she agrees to apologize, change her ways and pay a fine. Across the border in Oregon , the state has fined two Christian bakers $135,000 because they did not want to bake a cake celebrating a gay 'wedding' even ...
