Homosexual Counselling and ECT

Image
"It's wrong… it's totally unacceptable. I'm an example of the enormous damage that it can do to people."  The 71-year-old former Baptist minister is a survivor of a practice once believed to rid patients of their same-sex attraction .  Yet ' Electroconvulsive Therapy ' (ECT) is used to treat a number of psychiatric conditions .  ECT has been shown to be a very effective treatment. For uncomplicated severe depression,  evidence suggests at least an 80% improvement. However, not all patients improve at the same rate, as with all forms of medical treatment. It is important to note that generally,  it will take around 4 to 5 treatments before you will feel an improvement in your symptoms.  One patient reports: Years after first refusing it, ECT gave me a chance at life. I grasped this opportunity and I continually try to make the most of it. I will always have dark days, weeks or maybe months but I feel stronger than I have ever felt. My confidence an...

Is transgender a new religion?

Image
Disagreement with pro- LGBT policies quickly gets one branded as anti-science. As Jonah Goldberg   points out , this is an example of ideology using the language of science to camouflage itself. It turns out that actual science isn’t much help to transgender advocacy. The American Psychiatric Association ’s  DSM V  notes gender dysphoria desistence rates of 70 to 97 percent in “natal males” and 50 to 88 percent in “natal females.” The American Psychological Association ’s  APA Handbook on Sexuality and Psychology  states that the vast majority of gender dysphoric boys and girls accept their birth/chromosomal sex by adolescence or adulthood. University of Toronto psychologist  Dr. James Cantor  cites three large scale and other smaller studies showing trans-identifying kids will outgrow it 60 to 90 percent of the time. A  2008 study  affirmed that 80 to 95 percent of gender dysphoric pre-pubertal children will accept their biological...

Uniting Church Lesbian Elder - Apostate Church?

Image
Julie McCrossin ABC Presenter and Qantas Radio Q presenter - at 13 years of age was tempted by the sin of lesbianism . She ignored the Bible, repentance and seeking God and instead watched a movie and identified with the false lesbian propaganda presented.   She has since married Melissa Gibson in New York USA and now lives in Sydney pushing immoral homosexual marriage.  Born in 1954, the messages I received about homosexuality when I was growing up were quite straightforward: homosexuality was a criminal act, a mental illness and against God's will. I was 13 when I first felt the creeping sensations of shame, fear and dread when I realised I may be a lesbian. I watched a movie, and I knew I too had "those feelings". It brought a burden of anxiety into my life that only LGBTI people of my generation can truly understand. It was nearly 10 years before I heard anyone say anything positive about homosexuality. Now self-employed, s he is also an elder, treasurer...

The “gay rights” movement is not benign

Image
In many elementary and secondary schools across America, October will be designated as LGBT History Month. It is certain to feature prominently in California where promotion of homosexuality to all school children is now mandated by law. And it is likely to be observed in all of the classrooms controlled by the nationwide Gay Lesbian Straight Teachers Network (GLSEN), whose founder, Kevin Jennings, was appointed “safe schools” czar by President Obama. This week WND linked to a news story about a Broward County, Fla., school that will teach “gay” history to kindergartners, but most GLSEN teachers will conduct these indoctrination sessions with no meaningful outside scrutiny. LGBT History Month is not yet universally adopted by public schools. Nevertheless, throughout October tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of innocent school children will be subjected to the most despicable brainwashing ever conducted in American classrooms. They will be taught, through carefully constructed le...

Self-evident all humans are heterosexual by nature not homosexual

Image
One of the most serious but least discussed consequences of choosing a homosexual lifestyle is the loss of critical thinking skills. The Bible states clearly it is debased thinking as a result of indulging in homosexual sin. What is worse, this malady seems to spread fairly easily to non-homosexuals who closely associate with people in the LGBT community (though this observation is by definition unscientific since there exists no objective standard for determining if someone is “ gay ,” thus a person’s self-declaration is the only measure.) From the inability to distinguish disagreement from “hate,” or tolerance from approval, to conflating sex and love, homosexualists (ie anyone “gay” or straight who advocates for the mainstreaming of homosexuality) just can’t think straight. For example, any clear-thinking person can see that basing a right to marry solely on romantic attraction opens the marriage door to many other deviant relationships: polygamy, polyamory, incest, pederas...

LGBT Transgenderism - confusion

When the practice of sex-change surgery first emerged back in the early 1970s, I would often remind its advocating psychiatrists that with other patients, alcoholics in particular, they would quote the Serenity Prayer , “God, give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” Where did they get the idea that our sexual identity (“gender” was the term they preferred) as men or women was in the category of things that could be changed? Their regular response was to show me their patients. Men (and until recently they were all men) with whom I spoke before their surgery would tell me that their bodies and sexual identities were at variance. Those I met after surgery would tell me that the surgery and hormone treatments that had made them “women” had also made them happy and contented. None of these encounters were persuasive, however. The post-surgical subjects struck me as caricatures of wom...
