Image
FRANKFORT, KY , March 18, 2014 – Kentucky is shaping up to be new territory in the fight for marriage. On March 4, Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway , a Democrat ,  said that he would not appeal  District Judge John Heyburn 's decision that the state should accept the “marriages” of four couples who were “wedded” in other states but live in Kentucky. This week, the state's governor formally appealed the decision to the 6 th   Circuit Court , days after hiring a private law firm to defend a state statute and a constitutional amendment , both defining marriage as between a man and a woman. Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear Gov. Steve Beshear, who is a Democrat, disagreed sharply with the decision of Conway to not defend the state's 1998 law and 2004 constitutional amendment. He has a contract to pay as much as $100,000 to the law firm.  Conway, who said he could not in good conscience defend the state law,  said he believed  “we cannot w...

Pro-marriage young people do exist, say youth fighting for Indiana same-sex ‘marriage’ ban

Image
Over 100 young adults held a press conference Tuesday at Indiana 's state House calling for an amendment protecting true marriage. INDIANAPOLIS, IN ,  – “ The media claims we don't exist. Freedom Indiana claims there are none of us left. But as young Hoosiers, we are here today.”  Those were the words of Shane Weist, 33, who along with a group of more than 100 other young adults, held a  press conference  Tuesday in which they sought to prove that – despite media reports to the contrary – not every young person in America backs legally-sanctioned same-sex “marriage.”   Weist and his companions make up Young Hoosiers for Marriage , an Indiana-based group fighting for passage of HJR-3, an amendment to the state constitution defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Also at issue in Indiana are so-called ‘civil unions,’ which give many of the legal benefits of marriage without the name or federal recognition. The House passed...

Australian Senate defeats Greens and Gay politicians move to abandon Lord’s Prayer at start of day

Image
CANBERRA, Australia, February 13, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - In only 24 seconds the latest effort to have the Lord's Prayer removed from the start of the Australian Senate 's day was defeated, with senators from both the coalition government and the opposition Labor Party voting against it. Under the Senate’s standing order, the president of the Senate is required to read the parliamentary prayer upon taking his chair at the start of the day, regardless of adjournment or suspension from the day before. Australia's Senate chamber The motion against the reading of the prayer, advanced by Greens  Sen. Richard Di Natali , was to have the Senate officially refer the matter to the procedure committee, which is already tasked with reviewing the existing standing orders.  The Greens party has a member on the committee and a spokesman told LifeSiteNews the issue would be actively pursued.  They wish to have the prayer replaced with an invitation to a minute of silence...

Kentucky gay ‘marriage’ ruling may spell trouble for Mitch McConnell

Image
LOUISVILLE, KY , February 12, 2014  - A judicial ruling that  Kentucky must recognize same-sex "marriages" conducted in other nations  or U.S. states may spell more trouble for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell . U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II offered a strongly worded rebuke to tradition and religion on Wednesday, saying the state amendment -- which was approved by three-quarters of state voters -- "demeans" homosexuals. The Madison Project , a national grassroots organization that favors traditional marriage, noted that President George H.W. Bush appointed Heyburn to the bench in the early 1990s following a recommendation “from Senator Mitch McConnell who used him as a special counsel while serving as Judge Executive of Jefferson County in the early ‘80s. Thanks to McConnell, Kentucky is being subjected to the tyranny of the liberal agenda without a vote. ” (Emphasis in original.) The group, along with the Senate Conservatives F...

Indiana state house approves constitutional amendment banning gay ‘marriage’

Image
INDIANAPOLIS,  – In a startling rebuke to those who say gay “marriage” is inevitable, the Indiana House of Representatives has approved a constitutional amendment protecting marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Representatives passed House Joint Resolution 3 by a wide margin, 57-40. Eleven Republicans joined 29 Democrats in voting against the motion. If the amendment passes the state Senate, Indiana voters will decide its fate in a statewide referendum. That vote may be delayed, since legislators changed the formal wording by deleting a sentence that also barred state recognition of same-sex civil unions. The U.S. Supreme Court cited the existence of civil unions as part of its reasoning in allowing a lower judge's ruling striking down California's state constitutional marriage protection amendment . The new wording would require another General Assembly vote, meaning it would not be on the ballot until November 2016. However, if the state Senate...

Warren Entsch supports immoral homosexuality

Image
English: , Liberal Senator for South Australia (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Liberal MP Warren Entsch attacked Senator Cory Bernardi , saying he obsesses with gay people. Mr Entsch, a former parliamentary secretary and chief opposition whip, said he cringed when he heard the South Australian senator 's latest comments, in a new book by him and in a television interview on Monday, in which he accused some women of using abortion as ''an abhorrent form of birth control'' and railed against ''non-traditional'' family arrangements such as step-families, single-parent families and families with same-sex parents . Mr Entsch obviously appears to be happy when immorality is promoted and babies are aborted in their thousands? He cringes when truth and true moral values are stated. Listen to the logic and attack of a immoral homosexual supporter: Bernardi has an obsession with people that are gay Bernardi would sterilize his own gay child Biolog...

Liberal colleagues Cory Bernardi and Dennis Jensen criticise Malcolm Turnbull over immoral homosexual marriage comments

Image
Malcolm Turnbull (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Anger is rising within the Abbott government over Malcolm Turnbull 's advocacy for immoral homosexual marriage, with the Communications Minister publicly criticised by two backbench colleagues. South Australian Senator Cory Bernardi has urged Mr Turnbull to either resign from the frontbench or stop commenting on "fringe issues outside party policy". And West Australian Liberal MP Dennis Jensen said Mr Turnbull's comments on homosexual marriage were "unhelpful" and not befitting a cabinet minister. Mr Turnbull frustrated all of his colleagues when he told an interviewer on Sunday that Australia was getting out of step with similar countries on homosexual marriage. He said Britain, Canada and parts of the US and South Africa had taken steps to allow gay marriage.  Turnbull needs to be told that there are 310 countries in the world with only 13 supporting immoral homosexual marriage. ''So people of...

Healthy children and Homosexual Marriage

Image
“ Victoria ’s deputy chief psychiatrist – and State Government-appointed equal opportunities champion – has joined forces with doctors lobbying the Federal Government to ban same-sex marriage. Twenty-two Victorian GPs, anaesthetists, obstetricians, palliative care specialists and psychiatrists, including Prof Kuravilla George, have joined 150 colleagues interstate to argue gay marriage poses a health risk to society. “In a letter to the Senate’s inquiry into marriage equality, the group wrote that it was ‘important for the future health of our nation’ to retain the definition of marriage as being between a man and woman. ‘We submit the evidence is clear that children who grow up in a family with a mother and father do better in all parameters than children without,’ they wrote. The doctors also said they were concerned legalising gay marriage would ‘normalise’ homosexual behaviour and the ‘health consequences’ linked with it, such as HIV and syphilis.” Finally a group of doctors and...

Are your Senators reflecting your view on Godly Marriage or immoral homosexual marriage?

Image
English: Official portrait of United States Senator Pat Toomey. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The "Employee Non-Discrimination Act of 2013 ( ENDA )" passed in the Senate with a vote count of 64 to 32. The vote followed a weak debate over religious exemptions in the chamber, after the Senate had defeated a proposed amendment offered by Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey that would have expanded conscience protections. Senator Toomey went on after the amendment's defeat to vote for passage of ENDA anyway, along with nine other Senate Republicans! Make no mistake : ENDA is nothing other than a Trojan horse designed to drive people of faith and traditional values further from the public square in our country. But don't just take my word for it! Consider this: even the weak religious exemptions which are included in ENDA — which NOM, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops , Family Research Council , Heritage Action, and many others all consider to be entirely in...
