Richard Grenell and homosexual Christian confused claims

Image
Grenell, who lives in Los Angeles , reportedly has a long-term homosexual partner, Matt Lashey . Grenell is pro-life and has worked over the years to help pro-life advocates at the UN, according to one veteran pro-life advocate involved in international issues. But when it comes to homosexuality, Grenell calls for greater “tolerance” in the Republican Party despite the party’s clear and longstanding platform language opposing “rights” and “marriage” based on aberrant sex. In a Feb. 3 podcast with FOX News reporter Shannon Bream , he said, “I am gay, I am a Christian and I am still a man of faith.” In the interview, Grenell demonstrates precisely the sort of pro-homosexual advocacy that inspires opposition among Christians who accept the  biblical proscription against homosexual behavior . BORN GAY - NO WAY - ONLY LADY GAGA SAYS SO ALONE “I know I was born this way,” he emphatically told Bream. (Social conservatives have long dismissed the “born gay” claim, and in r...

Really bad argument used here by gays seeking to dismiss the Bible

Image
Objection Stated  Paul is “trapping” the Jews in Romans 1 , and springs the trap in Romans 2 , and hence what is in Romans 1 is really irrelevant to the modern situation. Some revisionists argue that Paul’s entire effort in Romans 1 is in essence disingenuous: He is simply seeking to get his Jewish opponents to agree with him, to “jump on the bandwagon” so to speak, so he can then “spring the trap” on them in chapter two. The hoped for result seems to be that we can dismiss what Paul says in chapter 1 as merely rhetorical. Biblical Response This kind of argument can be very fairly identified as desperate. The consistency of what Paul says in Romans 1 and how he concludes Romans 3 (vv. 10–19), which comes long after the alleged “springing of the trap” in chapter 2, completely refutes this idea. Further, the argument assumes that Paul is speaking only of Gentiles in chapter 1, which is simply untrue. The connection with chapter 2 and the direct application to Jews ...

Obama-appointed judge again halts Mississippi’s religious freedom law

Image
An Obama-appointed judge has denied the citizens of Mississippi the protections of a religious freedom bill while the legislation works its way through the appeals process. U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves denied the state’s motion allowing it to enforce the "Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act" (H.B. 1523), which Republican   Governor Phil Bryant signed   April 5. The bill would allow citizens with sincere faith-based objections to opt out of participating in same-sex “marriage” ceremonies, place children in the care of same-sex couples, or rent their homes to homosexuals, among other provisions. State clerks could decline to issue a marriage license or perform a wedding ceremony if they could find another employee willing to do so. The state had invoked conscience laws that prevent people from being forced to participate in abortions, but Judge Reeves said the two situations bore no similarities. “Issuing a marriage license ...

San Francisco parish cancels talk by ‘gay’ priest following outcry against blasphemous statements

The rainbow flag waving in the wind at San Francisco's Castro District San Francisco, California (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Following an outcry from concerned Catholics, a San Francisco Catholic parish located in the city’s predominantly homosexual Castro district has canceled a scheduled talk by a self-identified “gay” priest who has spoken of “Jesus as gay.” However, the cancellation leaves many more questions unanswered about the ongoing scandals occurring at the “LGBT-affirming” Most Holy Redeemer parish. Donal Godfrey, a Jesuit who, according to the National Catholic Reporter , personally identifies as “gay,” asks in his book, Gays and Grays, “Is it less appropriate for gays to imagine Jesus as gay than for African Christians to picture him as black, Asian Christians as Asian?” “If God must become Asian or African, then God is also in some sense queer and at work in the queer community,” writes Godfrey, who also states, “The gospel must always be inculturated into ev...

NY’s Gov. Cuomo prepares to ban therapy for youth with unwanted same-sex attraction

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Insurance coverage for reparative therapy for minors with unwanted same-sex sexual attractions is about to become illegal in New York State . However, attempts to change gender are encouraged,   according to a press release from Governor Andrew Cuomo , who said, "We will not allow the misguided and the intolerant to punish LGBT young people for simply being who they are." "Conversion therapy is a hateful and fundamentally flawed practice that is counter to everything this state stands for," continued New York's ostensibly Catholic governor. "New York has been at the forefront of acceptance and equality for the LGBT community for decades – and today we are continuing that legacy and leading by example...

Should the govemment legislate morality in particular protect immorality like homosexual marriage

Image
Every government legislates morality because every law has some  identifiable moral purpose. Even administrative laws and traffic ordinances  have a moral agenda to ensure public safety , promote order, and  prevent accidents. Yet the most contentious and central issues of the  law are so steeped in morality that it is foolish to suggest that the government  should not legislate morality. Laws prohibiting theft, murder,  assault, rape, and kidnapping make a strong moral judgment rooted in a  clear moral consensus.  These laws legislate morality. When someone argues that the government should not legislate  morality, the limiting of a specific personal behavior-especially sexual  behavior-is almost always the issue.  Yet the law will always legislate  morality, even if it refuses to legislate on a specific issue. Removing  legislation or declining legislation is always a political act with moral ...

The gay agenda will change our culture dramatically

Image
The Most Rev. Anthony Fisher , O.P., Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney , delivered the   Acton Lecture on Religion and Freedom   at the Centre for Independent Studies on Wednesday, 14 October 2015. The year is 2025 - nine years after a plebiscite narrowly approved same-sex "marriage" and Parliament amended the   Marriage Act   and many other laws to remove all references to "a man and a woman," "husband and wife" and "mother and father." After an initial flurry of rather colourful same-sex "weddings," numbers have now plateaued to only a few hundred each year. Sociologists debate the long-term effects on public understandings of marriage and family. Certainly there have been political ramifications: no major party allows dissenters on this issue; this caused some significant haemorrhaging from Parliament before the 2019 election; even for most "independents," going against "the tide of hist...
