Image
A Brisbane priest says he was spat at and called a “f---ing no-voter” while walking through Queen Street Mall on Wednesday. Father Morgan Batt, who works at the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, told followers on Facebook he was walking up the shopping strip during the day in his “priestly attire” when he was stopped. “I was stopped - spat at - and called a "fu@ #ing No voter" He said the best he could do was “smile and move on and asked everyone to 'pray for healing' ". “ Australia this is really not us,” he wrote. A police spokesman said no complaint had been made to police. On Thursday morning, Fr Batt wrote he would not be calling the police or talking to media regarding the event. "I'm talking to God and praying hard," he wrote. "Thanks for all the love and support. I'm OK and all good." Father Morgan was the young parish priest in Port Arthur in 1996; his entire first communion class was executed during the massacr...

Qld University Researcher says- People who Vote NO for homosexual marriage are dumb

Image
Academic says people who are against legalizing  homosexual marriage are 'not intelligent enough to take part in a meaningful debate.  Brisbane academic Francisco Perales says homosexual marriage opponents are dumb and are unable to process complex ideas . He cited his own research to argue they were unmoved by facts or other views. Dr Francisco Perales, a senior research fellow with the University of Queensland's Institute for Social Science Research , argues those opposed to redefining marriage struggled with processing complex ideas. The Brisbane-based academic, who specialises in 'gender and sexual identity ', said opponents of changing the Marriage Act lacked the cognitive ability to process complex ideas, discern facts from speculation and critically engage with new or diverse viewpoints.  So, ministers of religion, Ex-PM John Howard, teachers, academics, doctors, nurses, politicians are all dumb when they oppose immoral homosexual marriage! Qld LNP leader votes yes for same-sex marriage misuses the Bible to justify sin

Image
Queensland Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls has voted in favour of same-sex marriage but said it was a difficult decision . The LNP leader told reporters in Brisbane on Sunday he had filled out his postal survey earlier that morning, after a lot of "interesting" discussions with his wife and three teenage children. "This has been really hard for me," he said. " I come from a traditional marriage, a traditional background. "  Mr Nicholls said ultimately it was St Paul's letter to The Corinthians , in the bible, which swayed him in favour of marriage equality. How is this possible when Romans 1 condemns the sin of homosexuality ? How does Mr Nicholls thinks 1 Corinthians 13:13 supports homosexual marriage ? Nicholls was quoting the Bible "He says faith, hope, love and the greatest of these is love," he said. " And on that basis I voted yes ." So, on that basis - "greatest of these is love" - he voted for h...

Madlin Sims of Capital Kids Parties illegally fired Madelin because she voted NO to gay marriage

Image
Employment Minister Michaelia Cash says a Canberra small-business owner has violated a fundamental freedom by publicly claiming to have “fired” Madeline (picture above) a Christian teenager because she opposed same-sex marriage .  Madlin Sims, owner of Capital Kids Parties, posted on Facebook on Sunday night that she had “fired a staff member” because they “made it public knowledge that they feel it’s okay to vote no” in the same-sex marriage postal survey. “Voting no is homophobic. Advertising your homophobia is hate speech ,” Ms Sims said. “As a business owner I can’t have somebody who publicly represents my business posting hate speech online.” Yesterday federal workplace investigators were seeking to interview the Christian teenager, who wishes to be identified only as “Madeline”. However, the Fair Work Ombudsman may have no jurisdiction if the teenager was engaged as a contractor, as Ms Sims said in subsequent Facebook posts. Employment lawyers suggested ...

Inconsistent rules apply to traditional marriage Vote NO to SSM

A SIGN calling for people to tick No on their same sex marriage survey forms has been taken down within hours of being erected at the Hobart Showground . The Coalition for Marriage sign was put up yesterday but disappeared a few hours later. The Coalition for Marriage has expressed disappointment about the removal from the billboard. Coalition spokesman Alex Sidhu said the sign had been erected at 10am yesterday and was taken down at 3pm. It is one of about 10 “It’s OK to say ‘no’” billboards around Tasmania . “We do not want to comment on how or why the decision to take the sign down was made, we are just concentrating on getting our message out that there are consequences to a change to the definition of marriage,” Mr Sidhu said. It is understood the billboard is owned and operated by Claude Neon. Claude Neon has been contacted for comment. Liberal Senator  Eric Abetz said: “This is yet another ugly example the intimidation and bullying engaged in by the ‘yes’ camp...

Attending a homosexual marriage is not a neutral act

Image
Former President George H. W. Bush and his wife Barbara attended a wedding last year that made national news. According to The Washington Post , the elder Bushes attended the wedding of two lesbians, Bonnie Clement and Helen Thorgalsen, held at Kennebunkport, Maine . No one should be surprised by the opening line of the Post report: “Another prominent Republican has come out in support of same-sex marriage—or, at least, in support of one particular same-sex marriage.” Similarly, the “ Daily Intelligencer ” column at New York Magazine declared that George and Barbara Bush are apparently in favor of same-sex marriage “since they not only attended a lesbian couple’s wedding on Saturday, but served as witnesses as well.” The news coverage of the Bushes’ attendance at the same-sex wedding points to a reality that must be understood—and fast. Attendance at a wedding is not a neutral act. The history and context of the wedding ceremony identify all those present as agreeing to the ri...

Do you value religious freedom?

Image
Value your religious freedom ? Check this out… The Speaker of the British House of Commons says “proper equal marriage” won’t happen until the churches are compelled to obey by law. Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said his party was working towards compelling priests to perform same-sex weddings . Denmark has already done this. Concerns about how redefining marriage will affect your religious freedom extend far beyond whether an individual minister of religion or celebrant is required to solemnise a same-sex wedding. It will impact what faith leaders will be able to preach, what schools and parents will be able to teach children, and how Australians will be able to conduct their businesses in accordance with their beliefs. Hepatitis warning for gay men in Victoria - Gay Marriage unhealthy

Image
Sexually active gay men are being warned to watch out for symptoms of hepatitis A, after an outbreak of the highly contagious disease in Victoria and Sydney . This comes as gays try to seek Government approval for gay marriage. There have been four cases of hepatitis A this year in Victoria, believed to be spread by travellers from Europe who have had male-on-male sexual activity, and several similar cases have been reported in Sydney, the Victorian Department of Health said on Wednesday. Victoria's deputy Chief Health Officer Dr Brett Sutton said men who had recently travelled to Sydney, Europe or the USA were at higher risk of infection, and he warned them against having unprotected sex as it could spread the virus.  The warning appears to be ignored as most gay men do not want homosexual marriage - if anything they want an open relationship, where though married they can have multiple sexual encounters when desired.

Australian Christian against Homosexual Marriage

Image
Australians are being asked to vote on whether marriage should be redefined to include homosexual couples. The Australian Christian Churches urges all Christians to vote “no” at the upcoming postal plebiscite, because we believe there is a lot more at stake.  1. Upholding the Biblical Definition of Marriage The Biblical view of marriage is a lifelong, exclusive union between a man and a woman. This definition is made crystal clear in Genesis 1 and 2 which lays out God’s blueprint for human sexuality. It is endorsed by Jesus in Matthew 19v5 and by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5v21. Redefining marriage to include homosexual couples is completely contrary to clear Biblical teaching. This is an important consideration for Bible believing Christians, yet it is only one reason we should vote “no” to same sex marriage. People need to realise that same sex marriage will profoundly change Australian society and impinge upon our freedoms.  2. Legalising Same Sex Marria...

Australian Postal Vote on Homosexual Marriage

Image
It seems Australia is making its way to a postal vote on whether we should change our marriage laws to remove reference to gender, i.e. to make same-sex marriage lawful. Whatever the outcome of the postal vote, the parliament will still have to decide, and our representatives won't necessarily be bound to make the same decision as the people. Even if most people vote 'no', some parliamentarians would vote 'yes' to a bill, and vice versa. If you have doubts about whether changing our marriage laws are a good idea, or if you disagree with it, what should you say to friends or colleagues who support the 'yes' vote? I offer some thoughts here. The 'yes' position may seem simple and easy to understand. It says that everyone should be treated equally, so it's wrong to deny marriage to same-sex attracted people because it's wrong to make marriage available to some people and not to others. This position sees marriage as an entitlement, ...
