Stand against Obama's homosexual zealotry

Image
The first profile in cowardice is in the state of Nevada , where this week the Attorney General and the Governor  withdrew their defense of that state's marriage laws against a legal challenge by gay activists. The Democratic Attorney General, Catherine Cortez Masto , filed a brief opining that Nevada's present law defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman — an amendment passed by the voters of the state in 2002 — is likely to fail before the bench of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals . The Republican Governor of Nevada, Brian Sandoval , then issued a written statement to the press saying that he agreed with Masto's analysis. But they are wrong. Masto cited as reasoning an earlier case decided by a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit led by the notorious Judge Stephen Reinhardt . The previous case involved jury selection and the legality of peremptory strikes of homosexual jury candidates. First off, it isn't even clear that that case applies ...

CARSON CITY, NV , February 11, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – On the heels of the announcement by Virginia's attorney general that he will not defend the constitutional amendment enshrining marriage as between a man and a woman, Nevada 's attorney general and governor are following suit. Approved by voters and added to the state constitution in 2002, the Nevada amendment (which can be seen in full  here ) has been challenged by eight same-sex couples. Brian Sandoval However, Masto has now  declared  that since the 9 th   Circuit Court of Appeals has said sexual orientation cannot be the sole reason for taking potential jurors off of a jury, “the state has determined that its arguments grounded upon equal protection and due process are no longer sustainable.” Gov. Religious liberty threatened by Homosexual Activism

Last May, the first same-sex marriage ceremony ever held on a U.S. Military installation was performed at Fort Polk, Louisiana . Although it wasn't legally valid, it created quite an uproar . . . and violated federal law. In response, the House of Representatives passed the following language as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA): A military installation or other property owned or rented by, or otherwise under the jurisdiction or control of, the Department of Defense, may not be used to officiate, solemnize, or perform a marriage or marriage-like ceremony involving anything other than the union of one man with one woman. Senators Roger Wicker and James Inhofe have introduced these provisions in the Senate as a stand-alone bill, the "Military Religious Freedom Act of 2012," but the Senate leadership has blocked their efforts every step of the way. But even if the Senate never votes on the Wicker/Inhofe bill, we can still protect the Defen...

LAS VEGAS , December 3, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A Nevada judge has ruled that “no fundamental rights are burdened” by Nevada’s constitutional amendment restricting marriage to one man and one woman – a ruling that has led liberals and homosexual activists to ridicule his Mormon faith. Eight homosexual couples sought to overturn the marriage protection measure, which was passed by two-thirds of Nevada voters just 10 years ago. The plaintiffs, who could not marry in the state or have their “marriages” recognize by the state, claimed they bore “the stigma of exclusion and of being branded by the government as inferior.” Judge Robert Jones. District Judge Robert C. Jones responded with  a ruling  the Family Research Council has called “a 41-page masterpiece.” Maintaining marriage “a legitimate state interest, he ruled, and “the exclusion of same-sex couples from the institution of civil marriage is rationally related to furthering that interest.” Marriage, wit...
