How Martina Navratilova Found Herself ‘On the Wrong Side of History’ in a Hurry

Image
“The rules on trans athletes reward cheats and punish the innocent.” She won the Wimbledon women’s singles title a phenomenal nine times. Martina Navratilova’s name, however, appears in the headlines not for her athleticism but for her collision with the LGBTQ revolution. Why is this interesting? Because Navratilova identifies as a gay athlete who championed the cause of gay rights. Now, the LGBTQ mainstream has disavowed Navratilova for her comments that criticized the participation of transgender women in gender-specific sports—that is to say, allowing men who identify as women to compete against actual women in athletic contests. This controversy began in December of last year when Navratilova tweeted,  “You can’t just proclaim yourself a female and be able to compete against women.” She advocated for standards that would disqualify trans women from competing against women in athletic events. Navratilova faced an immediate backlash from the LGBTQ community. Transgender a...

LGBTQ group kicks out tennis legend Martina Navratilova for opposing trans men competing with women

Image
Having fallen foul of LGBTQ advocates, famed tennis star and openly lesbian Martina Navratilova was officially removed from the advisory board of a major LGBTQ organization because of comments she made about so-called transgenders. Navratilova released an op-ed in  The Sunday Times  on Feb. 17 where she wrote that “transgender” athletes should not be allowed to compete against biologically female athletes. She wrote that it is unfair for men to compete as women because of their innate physical advantage over biologically female athletes. Navratilova is widely considered the best female tennis player in history, having won Wimbledon nine times and 18 Grand Slam titles. Her article, titled “The rules on trans athletes reward cheats and punish the innocent,” started by saying, “Letting men compete as women simply if they change their name and take hormones is unfair — no matter how those athletes may throw their weight around.” This came in response to condemnations from...

Tennis pro blasts letting gender-confused men play against women: ‘it’s insane and it’s cheating’

Image
Two months after sparking controversy by tweeting a blunt dissent from transgender orthodoxy, tennis star Martina Navratilova has penned an op-ed elaborating on and standing by her opposition to letting gender confused men compete against actual women in professional sports. Navratilova is a self-described feminist and outspoken lesbian who has won eighteen Grand Slam single titles, including nine Wimbledon women’s single titles. She generally aligns with the Left on LGBT issues, from vehemently supporting same-sex “marriage” to opposing President Donald Trump’s ban on gender-confused soldiers, but sees the erasure of sex differences in athletics as a bridge too far. In December, she came under fire for tweeting that “You can’t just proclaim yourself a female and be able to compete against women. There must be some standards, and having a penis and competing as a woman would not fit that standard.” Among her critics was Rachel McKinnon, a male philosophy professor and competitive cy...

Athletes, activists push immoral homosexual agenda at UN on Human Rights Day

Image
NEW YORK, - On Human Rights Day , famous athletes and UN officials met at UN headquarters to condemn what they consider to be discrimination against homosexuals. Russia took the brunt of the criticism ahead of the Winter Olympics to be held in Sochi next February. It is the first of several countries that have enacted a law to protect children from information that glamorizes unhealthy sexual behaviors, homosexuality being considered one of them. US ambassador to the UN Samantha Power called Russia’s law “as outrageous as it is dangerous” at a press conference early in the day. “Sports have the power to change the world,” Czech tennis star Martina Navratilova told homosexual and transgender activists at an event at UN headquarters. Given Russia’s increasing international influence, that law is particularly problematic to homosexual activists and critics. Ambassador Power said that discriminating against homosexuals is “barbarism” and spent the morning at a strategy s...
