Vimeo censors Christian group for videos on overcoming same-sex attraction

Another prominent video hosting site is cracking down on content supporting therapy for unwanted homosexual attraction, according to the California-based nonprofit Church United. The group, which is dedicated to “equip(ping) pastors as culture-changers” via events in which they “hear high-profile leaders share about the current spiritual crisis,” revealed last week that on November 23 the website Vimeo notified Church United founder and pastor, Jim Domen, that the group had 24 hours to download copies of all 89 of its videos before the account would be permanently shut down. At issue were five videos on the subject of Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE), particularly controversial California legislation that was withdrawn in August but would have banned virtually any form of treatment for unwanted same-sex attraction. The videos featured Dorman and other pastors, as well as personal stories from ex-homosexuals who attest that such change is possible with the right help. “Your ...

Australian Gay Advocate reveals his true agenda

Image
An Australian homosexual advocate quoting another homosexual university lecturer demands any form of homosexual conversion be closed by the government because they believe you're born homosexual and it is not a choice. But this advocate wants to go further! Having been pastoral credentials removed because of his homosexual lifestyle as proscribed by scripture and church code of conduct, he now demands all Australian churches to adjust their understanding of homosexuality as a sin and to promote it as something good. Third claiming to be a Christian he denounces any form of prayer as ineffective. ABC ARTICLE BELOW A gay rights group in Australia is pushing for psychiatric therapies designed to convert people to heterosexuality to be outlawed as a bill is put before the US Congress to do exactly that. Ambassadors and Bridge Builders International is pushing for gay conversion therapy to be made illegal Australia-wide. Founder Anthony Venn-Brown was once an Evangelist pasto...

Youth need truth on homosexuality not the gay agenda!

In 2013 California and New Jersey passed laws that ban licensed mental health providers from offering sexual orientation change efforts ( SOCE ) to minors. Massachusetts,  Pennsylvania ,  Ohio, New York , Minnesota and Maryland are considering similar legislation. Recently, however, this legislation died in the Virginia House, and a stay was imposed in California pending review by the  Supreme Court of the United States . To be clear, the present debate concerns banning voluntary (not coerced) SOCE by professionals for minors who are distressed by their unwanted homosexual feelings. Support for this ban is based upon four claims. First, that sexual orientation is a fixed, inborn trait. Secondly, that homosexual attractions experienced during adolescence are enduring. Thirdly, that homosexual behavior carries no increased health risks as compared to heterosexual behavior, and finally, that scientific research proves SOCE is universally harmful. None of these claims, howev...

Shouldn’t same-sex oriented teens be given a chance to change and know the truth?

Immutable ideology: Teens and same-sex attraction

November 27, 2013 ( BreakPoint ) - A fifteen-year-old New Jersey boy, identified in court records as “ John Doe ,” has struggled with unwanted same-sex attraction since he was ten. Two years ago, at his urging, his family took him to see a therapist in New York who specialized in what court documents refer to as “ Sexual Orientation Change Efforts .” According to John Doe, the therapy has helped him. In his words, “every day would get a little better.” We know this because his family is challenging a New Jersey law that, like a similar law in California , “ban[s] licensed counselors from engaging in talk therapies that reduce the level of same-sex attractions in minors for whom such reduction is a personal goal.” As we’ve previously pointed out here on BreakPoint, not only is so-called “reparative therapy” controversial, its efficacy remains unproven. While there are people who have successively made the transition from same-sex relationships to heterosexual ones, there are...

So much for ‘choice’: California bans reparative therapy

English: Jerry Brown's official picture as Attorney General and as Governor (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) October 10, 2012 ( Breakpoint.org ) - Recently, California governor Jerry Brown signed into law a ban on so-called “reparative therapy” for minors with same-sex attraction . In other words, counselors will not be permitted to help young people change their sexual orientation or behavior. Well, the law stinks on multiple levels. First, what if the minor wants to change, as many do? Doesn’t this violate the supposed liberal cardinal tenet of “choice”? And it’s a troubling precedent to nail an identity on an entire segment of the population with the stroke of a pen. Second, the law claims scientific consensus when there is none. Gov. Brown said the law would consign reparative therapies “to the dustbin of quackery,” banning “non-scientific ‘therapies’ that have driven young people to depression and suicide.” But the governor failed to note the high rates of depression a...

California Gov. signs bill to outlaw therapy to assist youth leave homosexuality

A bill that was described as a deliberate “attack on parental rights ” by its sponsor has been signed into law in California . On Sunday, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law a bill banning sexual orientation change therapy for minors. It is set to go into effect on January 1, 2013.  In response, the pro-family law firm Liberty Counsel has said it is filing a lawsuit on behalf of counselors, parents and their minor children, and the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) against the legislation. In signing the bill, Gov. Brown said that sexual orientation change therapy “will now be relegated to the dustbin of quackery.” This summer in response to critics who said the bill was an attack on parents rights, the bill’s sponsor State Senator Ted Lieu said: “The attack on parental rights is exactly the whole point of the bill, because we don’t want to let parents harm their children.” Senator Ted Lieu “No one should stand idly by while c...

California Assembly passes ‘attack on parental rights’ bill banning sex orientation therapy

SACRAMENTO, August 30, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - A first-of-its-kind state measure banning voluntary therapy for same-sex attraction for minors has passed California ’s Assembly , moving it a step closer to law, pending the reconciliation of the bill’s versions this week. The latest version of the bill states that California has a compelling interest in protecting minors against “exposure to serious harms caused by sexual orientation change efforts ,” and prohibits any mental health professional from providing sexual orientation therapy to individuals under 18 years old.  Ted Lieu said he designed the bill to deny parental rights. The measure passed by a 51-21 vote in the Democratic -controlled Assembly, and was approved by the Senate in May. Critics have blasted the bill as an infringement upon parents’ rights, while supporters say that’s precisely the point. “ The attack on parental rights is exactly the whole point of the bill , because we don’t want to let p...
