Bill banning boys who say they’re girls from women’s sports passes Arizona House

Image
The Arizona House voted 31-29 Tuesday to pass legislation ensuring that female school athletes will only compete against other females rather than gender-confused boys who claim to be girls. House Bill 2706, the “Save Women's Sports Act,” would allow participants in high-school girls and college women’s athletics to dispute the biological sex of an athlete they suspect of actually being male, who would then have to produce a signed doctor’s statement confirming that genetic testing has identified them as female, CBS 5 reported. Accusers would also be shielded from retaliation. "Women are being displaced in their own sport. The playing field is no longer level," said Republican state Rep. Nancy Barto, the bill’s author. Calling the proposed requirement “cruel,” opponents of the bill claim it could open up transgender students to bullying – a charge Barto rejects. "I would say they're really not looking at the true motive of the bill. It's not singl...

LGBT groups file suit against Arizona law banning pro-gay messages in AIDS education

Image
A pair of pro-LGBT organizations have filed a lawsuit against a decades-old Arizona law that forbids public-school lessons on HIV and AIDS from including messages that endorse or promote homosexuality. The law, enacted in 1991, allows “instruction to kindergarten programs through the twelfth grade on acquired immune deficiency syndrome and the human immunodeficiency virus” and provides guidelines for what such programs must include or avoid. Among those guidelines is a ban on instruction that “Promotes a homosexual life-style,” “Portrays homosexuality as a positive alternative life-style,” or “Suggests that some methods of sex are safe methods of homosexual sex.” Equality Arizona filed a federal lawsuit Thursday against the law on behalf of an anonymous homosexual Tucson student, Tucson.com reports, with assistance from Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund. The suit argues that the law “violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment” by “singling out a class...

Lady Gaga Born Gay - now no way! A top researcher with the American Psychological Association (APA) and lesbian activist has acknowledged that gays are not "born that way." Dr. Lisa Diamond , co-editor-in-chief of the APA Handbook of Sexuality and Psychology and one of the APA’s “most respected members," says sexual orientation is "fluid" and not unchangeable. As clinical psychologist Dr. Laura A. Haynes   summarizes   Diamond's APA Handbook chapters, her book and YouTube lectures, "The battle to disprove 'Born that way and can’t change’ is now over, and (Diamond) is telling LGBT activists to stop promoting the myth." Contrary to the typical argument that homosexuals are "born gay" as "who they are" and cannot change, the APA officially recognized sexual orientation change in 2011. Diamond summarized relevant findings in a lecture at Cornell University (2013), stating that abundant research has now es...

Christian businessman receives felony conviction for helping girl escape lesbian ‘mother’

Image
A Christian activist and entrepreneur who helped a child and her mother escape the United States to avoid joint custody with an unrelated lesbian was convicted Thursday by a federal jury of “conspiracy to commit offense” against the U.S. and aiding and abetting an “ international parental kidnapping .” Philip Zodhiates, 61, did not contest the allegation that in late 2009 he had driven Lisa Miller and her daughter Isabella to Buffalo, New York , where they crossed the border into Canada and then flew to Nicaragua , where they were sheltered by the country’s Mennonite community. However, his attorney argued that it was unproven that Zodhiates knew Lisa Miller’s motives for the trip. The two charges for which Zodhiates has been convicted could result in a sentence of up to eight years in prison and a $500,000 fine. He is scheduled to be sentenced on January 30. Mennonite Pastor Kenneth Miller, who is unrelated to Lisa and Isabella, is already serving a 27-month prison sent...

Image
July 31, 2015  -- Revelations that a half dozen well-heeled liberal foundations are pouring millions of dollars into a concerted campaign to force religious organizations to accept same sex “marriage” have defenders of religious rights warning of a new “wave” of litigation. “Attacking religious exemptions is the next big wave,” Bill Donohue, head of the Catholic League , said “Gay rights are only the pretext. These groups won’t be satisfied till every trace of religion is erased from public life in America.” After investigating their financial and annual reports,   The Catholic News Agency   has released the names of six foundations that have recently donated millions to groups and campaigns to eliminate any religious exemption under the First Amendment from federal, state or municipal human rights regulations, requiring couples in same-sex “marriages” be treated the same as heterosexual married couples. The Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, the Gill Foundat...

Romanian TV star slammed for speaking out against gay agenda

Image
April 7, 2015 ( FamilyNews.ro ) -- On April 5th, Romanian TV superstar and bestselling author Mihaela Radulescu has posted an article on her blog which was met with an avalanche of debate, cheers, critical comments and even verbal violence. She has claimed to have been inspired by a  Facebook post  made by her life partner, Austrian adventurer Felix Baumgartner , the first skyjumper to ever break the sound barrier in a 39-kilometer high freefall through stratosphere in 2012. Recently, on Facebook, the skydiver expressed his support for Austrian folk singer Andreas Gabalier.  The singer , in his thank-you speech at the Amadeus – The Austrian Music Awards, had said that “it’s not easy in this world, where one can either be a male or a female”. The artist’s comments were met with booing from the public, which made him say there should be more tolerance “from the other side”. This prompted Baumgartner to write on his Facebook wall that guys like Gabalier...

Indiana’s governor backs bill to protect business owners who don’t want to take part in gay ‘weddings’

INDIANAPOLIS, IN , February 11, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) -- Mike Pence , the Republican governor of Indiana , has come out in favor of a contentious proposal aimed at protecting the religious freedom rights of corporations and their owners. The legislation in question would prohibit state laws that "substantially burden" a person's ability to follow his or her religious beliefs.  The bill defines "person" not just as an individual, but also includes religious institutions, corporations, partnerships and associations.  Introduced in the aftermath of dozens of messy court battles over Obamacare ’s contraceptive mandate, which culminated in the Supreme Court’s  Hobby Lobby  decision , the bill would also protect business owners and companies who wish to abstain from participating in same-sex “weddings” and other actions that violate their sincerely held religious beliefs. In a short speech given to several hundred people at a rally in support of the bill, Gov...
