MSNBC host’s backpedaling on gay comments shows we’re living in Bizarro-World

Image
After Democratic Senator Cory Booker relentlessly grilled then-candidate for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on his views of gay marriage , conservative commentator Ben Shapiro mockingly imagined future questions that could be leveled at supporters of traditional marriage: "To verify your tolerance, I now ask that you publicly watch 'Brokeback Mountain' without making a face and that you cry at the end, sir!" I miss the days when parody was parody and didn't immediately occur in reality after the joke was made. MSNBC 's Joy Reid, a popular TV host , has come under fire for previous comments on an old blog about gay marriage and people she suspected of being gay, with a number of LGBT activists compiling her worst offences against "the community" and tweeting them out. Those comments included Reid's musings on the gayness or lack thereof of various public figures, as well as an apparently "transphobic" comment that involved her ac...

Baptists do not support homosexual marriage regardless of what the Court may say.

English: United States Supreme Court building in Washington D.C., USA. Front facade. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The United States Supreme Court handed down its long-awaited same-sex marriage ruling today, opting to redefine marriage in America —a 180-degree turn away from the biblical intent for marriage—as the Court also pushed aside states' rights and voters' voices. Dr. Richard Land , president of Southern Evangelical Seminary , a leader in apologetics education, said the decision throws away God's meaning for marriage. "Now," Land said, "the battlefield shifts to religious freedom. Will the progressive, totalitarian and intolerant left weaponize the government and attempt to force or compel people to affirm same-sex behavior and relationships? Or will they respect the freedom of conscience guaranteed by the Constitution? These will continue to be questions for the coming generations, now that the high Court has seized the historic role of defin...

Federal judge orders Guam to issue gay ‘marriage’ licenses starting Tuesday

Image
Mere weeks before the Supreme Court rules on the issue, a federal judge has  demanded  that the island U.S. territory of Guam issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.  Guam is the first U.S. territory to be put in this situation, joining the majority of the 50 U.S. states. U.S. District Court judge Frances M. Tydingco-Gatewood, a George W. Bush appointee, issued the ruling Friday, notwithstanding the Supreme Court's expected decision at the end of the month on the constitutionality of redefining marriage.  Guam's governor, Eddie Calvo , opposes redefinition but declared, in light of Tydingco-Gatewood's ruling, "I have a solemn duty to uphold the law." Guam falls under the U.S. 9 th  Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled last year in favor of redefining marriage in Alaska, Arizona , California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington State.  However, at that time, Gov. Calvo refused to grant marriage licenses before hearing the...

Lesbian activist: LGBT tactics are ‘bullying,’ ‘fascism,’ ‘totalitarian’

Image
INDIANAPOLIS, IN , April 8, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – After the owners of an Indianapolis pizza shop were forced to close their doors and go into hiding because of death threats from homosexual activists, a longtime gay advocate has spoken out – against the harassment. Talk show host  Tammy Bruce , who is a lesbian and former leader of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women , told Sean Hannity last week that LGBT harassment of Memories Pizza – as well as Christian florists, bakers, and photographers who refused to participate in same-sex “wedding” cermonies for religious reasons – is a form of “bullying” that borders on “fascism.” She said today's pressure and coercion conflict with the philosophy she learned when she entered political activism. “We have embraced the civil rights movements of this country, which were about allowing people to live the lives that best suit them,” she said. But, she warned, today's LGBT movement has no in...

Matthew Vines on the Homosexuality of Genesis 19 and Sodom and Gomorrah

Image
Sodom and Gomorrha, Alte Pinakothek, Room 23 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Mr. Vines says, " Genesis 19 . The actions of the men of Sodom are intended to underscore their cruel treatment of outsiders--not to somehow tell us that they were gay . . . It’s now widely conceded by scholars on both sides of this debate that Sodom and Gomorrah do not offer biblical evidence to support the belief that homosexuality is a sin ." Matthew Vines cites no reference to demonstrate that it is "widely conceded by scholars on both sides of this debate that Sodom and Gomorrah do not offer  biblical  evidence to support the belief that homosexuality is a sin.”  Just saying it doesn't make it so.  In contradiction to his assertion, a quick look into commentaries on Genesis 19 provides the following: The term "sodomy” is derived from this passage. It is widely held that the severity of God ’s judgment of Sodom had to do with the prevalence of homosexuality there. 1 Sodom and...

Fox News’ Bret Baier, actor Gary Sinise cancel on Church group after gay gripes

Image
FOX News Channel 's chief political anchor, Bret Baier , has shown himself to have a thinner skin than might be guessed from his on-air persona.  Baier has caved in to pressure from the homosexual activist group ‘Good as You’ to back out of a speaking engagement at a mainstream Catholic conference.  Also backing out for the same reason was Hollywood actor Gary Sinise of  Forrest Gump  and  CSI: NY  fame. The gay activist complaint is a repeat of last year when actor Bob Newhart was successfully bullied into backing out of his speaking engagement at the Legatus Summit. Legatus, which was begun by Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan in 1987 to network Catholic business leaders, is faithful to the Church’s Magisterium and therefore upholds the Church’s teachings on all moral matters including homosexuality. The Catechism of the Catholic Church sees all people regardless of their sexual desires as children of God and deserving of respect.  The...

Bill O’Reilly: Same-sex ‘marriage’ advocates work through ‘threats and demonization’ (video)

Image
. April 25, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Fox News host Bill O'Reilly says same-sex " marriage " advocates have crossed the line with "threats and demonization" of political opponents. On April 21, the top-ranked host in cable television  launched a discussion  with Fox News contributors Mary Katharine Ham and Juan Williams on the resignation of former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich due to "intimidation." Some extreme homosexual activists are saying "if you donate money to a traditional marriage cause, we're going to hurt you. We're going to...find out where you live. We're going to try to take your job, maybe do vandalism to your home." O'Reilly referred to comments made by the executive editor of TheNation.com, who said that homosexual friend wanted to go after traditional marriage supporters in their homes. Other examples of threats and intimidation include a New York state legislator who  faced death threats , ...

Psychiatrist Keith Ablow: I’ll keep speaking out against transgenderism despite death threats

Image
WASHINGTON, D.C. , January 28, 2014  – Dr. Keith Ablow , M.D., has been the target of death threats for his  view  that so-called ‘transgenderism’ is unproven science that puts vulnerable children at risk of unnecessary surgical procedures and lifelong confusion. But the Massachusetts -based psychiatrist told  LifeSiteNews  in an exclusive interview that he’ll keep speaking out on the issue despite the dangers.  Psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow “I have had to make a decision about whether to say what I think and try to be empathetic to everyone, despite those threats and despite the calls from many people for me to be stripped of my academic credentials,” Ablow told LifeSiteNews.  “It’s important to keep speaking out on this issue because, apparently, in America, there are thousands of children who are being prepared for extensive, life-changing plastic surgery who may or may not need it.” Ablow said that what causes a person to feel ‘trapped...
