Salvation Army attacked by LGBTQ singer Ellie Goulding

Image
We all know some individuals who are so obviously good and kind that we are certain if anyone were to dislike them, that’s all we would need to know about the person. We would immediately assume he or she is a bad person. To hate the manifestly good is a sure sign of being bad. Because of Their Christian Faith Such is the case regarding the left’s hatred of The Salvation Army. You don’t have to be a Christian — I am not — to appreciate the goodness of the people who run and work for The Salvation Army.  They devote their lives to helping the poorest, the saddest, the loneliest and the most troubled among us — completely irrespective of race, gender, transgender identity, faith or no faith. And they do it for almost no money. They do it because of their Christian faith. They provide these downtrodden people with not only food and shelter but also human warmth and love. And they offer the people they care for the one thing most likely to get them out of their predicament: m...

The Salvation Army a ‘Hate’ Group? Preposterous!

Image
To think of the Salvation Army — which does so much good work for people of every race, creed, color, sexual orientation, whatever — as somehow anti-gay is preposterous. How is the Salvation Army a Hate Group? A few weeks ago a singer from England initially refused to participate in a half-time show at a football game in Texas because it was to benefit the Salvation Army. Singer Ellie Goulding, who later relented, said, “I am a committed philanthropist as you probably know, and my heart has always been in helping the homeless, but supporting an anti-LGBTQ charity is clearly not something I would ever intentionally do.” By what criterion is the Salvation Army an anti-gay hate group? Because they do not let practicing, unrepentant homosexuals become leaders? Should GLAAD or other radical LGBTQ groups be forced, against their will, to have as leaders those who oppose their lifestyle? This politically correct culture has lost any semblance of moral clarity to label a group ...

Questions you’re asking about cakes, gays, and religious freedom

Image
February 28, 2014 ( Heritage ) - Cases have been popping up across the country where individuals have declined to bake cakes or take photos for same-sex wedding ceremonies—and government has punished them . This week, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer (R) vetoed a bill that would have put religious liberty protections in place in her state. We sat down with Ryan Anderson , Heritage’s William E. Simon Fellow in Religion and a Free Society , to get some answers about this debate. The Foundry: How did people’s beliefs about same-sex marriage become an issue for private businesses? Ryan Anderson: In New Mexico, a photographer declined to use her artistic talents to promote a same-sex ceremony because of her religious beliefs. The couple complained and the New Mexico Human Rights Commission ordered her to pay a fine of nearly $7,000. Christian adoption and foster-care agencies in Massachusetts, Illinois, and Washington, D.C., have been forced to stop providing those services because they b...

LGBT activists calling for boycott on Salvation Army's fundraising

Image
The Salvation Army logo (Anglophone Version) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The Salvation Army red kettles that sit outside storefronts during the Christmas season are causing some gay groups to see red. LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) activists are calling for a boycott of the Salvation Army’s annual red kettle drive because of its stance on homosexuality. Bil Browning, writing on the LGBQT blog The Bilerico Project , said, “As the holidays approach, the Salvation Army bell ringers are out in front of stores dunning shoppers for donations. If you care about gay rights, you'll skip their bucket in favor of a charity that doesn't actively discriminate against the LGBT community. The Salvation Army has a history of active discrimination against gays and lesbians.” Meanwhile, a Facebook page called “ Boycott The Salvation Army” now has over 2,000 likes. The description of the page reads, “The Salvation Army is not only a charity, but an evangelical church promoting ...

Time to support NOM

Image
National Organization for Marriage (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Let's be clear about something: the homosexual lobby and their puppet politicians' assault on Chick-fil-A is just the beginning. You see, wealthy homosexual activists, such as the so-called Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation , are not merely threatening, bullying , and attempting to destroy a great American business—they are declaring war on anyone who disagrees with their radical agenda. And why? To bully and intimidate the media and enough politicians and activist judges to force homosexual marriage as the law of the land—thereby destroying the time-tested, God ordained, traditional institution of marriage . If the homosexual lobby gets its way—and it might if people of faith don't immediately stand up to their bullying tactics—gay "marriage" will be imposed as the law of the land and the consequences will be profound. Consider: Young children will be taught in public scho...

Salvation Army Homosexuality position twisted by the media.

Image
The Salvation Army logo (Anglophone Version) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The Salvation Army is not distancing itself from its statement on homosexuality. Listed below is it non-homophobic position. It declares clearly its opposition to homosexuality based on scripture but at the same time seeks to minister to those caught in that sin. The word 'changed' and its content was not defined or explained by Major Harmer, but it was interpreted liberally by the ABC. THE ABC ONLINE STATEMENT BELOW The Salvation Army in Australia is distancing itself from a statement by its international parent organisation that homosexuality is "an unacceptable urge". The gay community has criticised the church's online declaration. Church spokesman Major Bruce Harmer says its Australian arm believes the statement needs to be changed. He has denied the Salvation Army is homophobic and has appealed to the gay community not make judgements on the declaration. "If you had a b...

Salvation Army abused by Homosexual pop star

Image
Official crest of The Salvation Army. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) THE Salvation Army 's declaration that homosexuality is an "unacceptable urge" has quickly drawn some celebrity fire. The Salvo's represent many Christian who have quietly held the same view.  Openly gay pop star Darren Hayes called for a boycott of the high-profile charity , a call which was backed by pro-gay lobbyists.  Why should a pop star hold any authority on this topic? because he has influecne only on the single, less thinking and gullible non-homosexual who follow fads. Hayes yesterday tweeted to his 60,748 followers: "Important for gay people to know the true position of the Salvation Army when considering who to donate to. Sad." The Salvos responded last night by pointing out they helped some of Australia 's most marginalised and needy people, including gay and transgender ones. Spokesman Major Bruce Harmer said most of Australia's faith-based charities wo...

Homosexuals seek to damage the Salvation Army

Image
The Salvation Army logo (Anglophone Version) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The arrogance of some gay advocates knows no bounds. They demand their sinful lifestyle regardless of what others may think or fell and know what is right.  Yet it is not surprising when a call is made on their sinful behaviour they react without regard to the community only themselves.  They have no understanding of sin and offense but seek to pursue their agenda at any cost. ........................................................... From Courier Mail THE Salvation Army is facing a backlash after its online anti- homosexuality and gay marriage stance sparked a social media boycott campaign. Gay pop star Darren Hayes - the face of '90s hit machine Savage Garden , Logan's most famous musical export and a current mentor on  The Voice  - has called for the boycott. The Salvos responded last night by pointing out they helped Australia 's most marginalised and needy, incl...

Gay rights activist calls for boycott of Salvation Army Christmas fundraiser

Image
November 28, 2011 - Gay rights activists who object to the Salvation Army ’s biblical stance on homosexuality are launching their annual call to shut down the organization’s Christmas fundraiser. The red kettle campaign, which is now in its 120th year, is a familiar sight to Christmas shoppers. The organization’s simple method of begging for shoppers’ loose change as they exit stores has raised millions of dollars to benefit needy families, seniors, and the homeless. The Salvation Army's humble method of raising funds during the Christmas season has brought in millions to provide food, shelter and clothing for the poor. But if the author of a recent blog post on  bilerico.com , one of the internet’s most prominent homosexual blogs, has his way, that would be brought to an end. “As the holidays approach, the Salvation Army bell ringers are out in front of stores dunning shoppers for donations. If you care about gay rights, you’ll skip their bucket in favor of a charity that...

Gay debate is not over

Image
Image via Wikipedia When even   Christianity Today   is asking, “Is the Gay Marriage Debate Over?” the issue has become so critical that it demands close attention. Believing (wrongly) that the debate is over, some evangelicals have decided that Christians should let the state define marriage any way it chooses and focus their attention only on what the Church does. This would be a fundamental mistake. The debate is one in which we must be involved for the sake of our society itself. Even a state such as ours, which does not use the law to promote or discourage particular religious beliefs, nevertheless has a huge stake in marriage. It is not simply a religious issue. The law is a moral teacher. Most people assume that if something is legal, it is moral—or at least not immoral. What is legal soon will become normal. Every society requires an ongoing supply of babies who grow up to be good citizens. Every civilization has known what contemporary sociologists now demonstrate: ...
