Judge forces mom to give her baby to homosexual couple: the latest case of surrogacy’s folly

Image
A convoluted custody dispute over an artificially conceived child has left the mother bereft and homosexual and Christian activists at loggerheads. The case of "H versus S" ended when the 44-year-old mother, "S," breastfed her 15-month old child for the last time in the courthouse cafeteria and handed him over to the waiting sperm donor dad, "H," and his homosexual partner. Both Romanian immigrants, H and S were also longtime friends who had informally agreed to conceive a child artificially together using a home insemination kit. But the relationship broke down, the mother denied the father and his lover parenting rights, and the courts took over. The judge who ruled on the appeal in the homosexual couple's favor, Alison Russell, has used the case to call for legislation, as in the United States, forcing those involved in surrogacy arrangements to agree to formal legal contracts. "The UK however does not have such an approach in...

Christian Response to Matthew Vines’ 40 Questions

Image
LGBT flag map of Brazil (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Matthew Vines has posted a series of forty questions, found here . I have written up a fairly brief response. I hope it is helpful. Do you accept that sexual orientation is not a choice? The very question simplifies the topic to a ridiculous level, Matthew. The desires a human experiences come from many factors—and as one who claims to be a Christian, you should know that the Scriptures do not modify their demands based upon “past experience.” We are created in the imago Dei, and hence have control of our actions. For a small percentage of those who claim a homosexual experience I would say that they have, in fact, always experienced such desires; but I truly doubt this is true for the majority, as their own words have often testified. Do you accept that sexual orientation is highly resistant to attempts to change it? As is pedophilia, bestiality, desires toward incest, serial adultery, all sorts of forms of fornication, add...

Portugal narrowly rejects gay adoption law

Image
LISBON, Portugal, March 21, 2014  – A bill that proposed to legalize same-sex adoption was rejected Friday in Portugal’s Parliament by a narrow majority. The bill would have allowed one member of a same-sex partnership to adopt the child of the other. In 2012, the government promised a “ co-parenting ” bill saying that “when two people of the same sex are married or cohabiting and one of them has parental responsibility for a minor, by blood or adoption, the spouse may adopt the minor.” The bill was defeated by a center-right coalition in a vote of 112-107 with four abstentions. The same bill was passed at first reading in May 2013, but heavily opposed by the Church. At the same time a bill proposing full joint adoption was defeated in a 104-77 vote. At the moment, homosexual individuals can adopt children in Portugal, but the same-sex “marriage” bill specifically prohibits joint same-sex adoption. At the same time, the Portuguese Constitutional Court  rul...

Pope Francis was ‘shocked’ by civil unions/gay adoption bill, urged me to fight it: Malta bishop

Image
Pope Benedictus XVI (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Malta’s auxiliary bishop says Pope Francis was “shocked” earlier this month when the bishop informed him of the push to legalize same-sex civil unions and homosexual adoption on the Mediterranean island nation. Bishop Charles Scicluna, who is being criticized in the media for defending traditional marriage in his Christmas homily last week, said the pope told him at a meeting December 12th to be vocal in opposing the Civil Unions Bill. The bill is currently being considered by the Maltese legislature and would give same-sex couples the same rights as married couples, including adoption.  “He was quite shocked by the issue of civil unions and gay adoptions in Malta,” the bishop told  The Sunday Times of Malta . “We discussed many aspects... and when I raised the issue that’s worrying me as a bishop [the right for gay couples to adopt] he encouraged me to speak out,” he added. The mainstream media has widely report...

Paul Ryan flip-flops, now supports gay adoption

Image
WKOW 27: Madison, WI Breaking News, Weather and Sports  – Paul Ryan , the 2012 Republican vice presidential candidate , announced on Monday that he has changed his position on “gay adoptions”; he now favors them. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Janesville, Wisconsin, Ryan responded to a question on same-sex “marriage” with a statement about his reversed position on same-sex adoption . Paul Ryan has found common ground with Barack Obama . "I do believe that if there are children who are orphans who do not have a loving person or couple, I think if a person wants to love and raise a child they ought to be able to do that. Period,” Ryan explained. “I would vote that way," he added. In 1999, Congressman Ryan voted far a ban on same-sex couples adopting children in the District of Columbia, but says he has since changed his mind. However, he said that he still opposes same-sex “marriage.” Ryan’s 2012 presidential running mate, Governor Mitt Romney, said he ...

Romney dodges question about homosexual adoption in CNN interview

Image
In response to a question by CNN ’s Wolf Blitzer about whether he thought it was “good” that homosexuals are able to adopt children during an intervi Image via Wikipedia ew last week, Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney repeatedly dodged the question,  responding  only, “I’m not going to change that.” Romney has  previously said  that homosexuals have a “legitimate interest” in adoptions. During the CNN interview, he also said that he believes homosexual adoption should be decided on a state-by-state basis. As the interview progressed, Romney expressed his belief that “marriage” should be a term reserved for men and women, but added that if people “enter into contracts with one another that are between same-sex individuals, they’re free to do so.” “Look, if two people of the same gender want to live together and enter into a contract with each other, so be it,” he continued. “But don’t pretend that it’s marriage. And society, as a whole, will benefit by ha...

Homosexual adoptions is not a right

Image
Image via Wikipedia Adoption is an ancient institution which we find in the historical records of many civilizations. On some occasions it was done to take care of orphans or abandoned children, in other cases it was a means of giving continuity to a family that lacked descendants.  Under the influence of Christianity it was accepted that the main reason to adopt a child was for the benefit of the child, when he lacked parents or his parents were unable to perform their parental duties. It is also perfectly legitimate that when a married couple judges that they can raise more children than they were given naturally, that they may adopt out of a spirit of charity and generosity to foster the good of the children. With activists campaigning for adoption rights for homosexual couples, however, it is time to consider some basic truths, and recall why it is both just and crucial that we prevent such false and destructive “rights” from being codified in the laws of our states and ou...
