Do we love gay people? - Hillsong

Image
Praise and worship during the opening night of Hillsong Conference in Kiev, 2006 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) I love and care about people – from all walks of life; people with various beliefs, ethics, perspectives and lifestyles . I care that humanity and some within the Christian church can be so quick to alienate and ostracise others who are different than them; those who live differently, think differently, speak differently. I also live by my own convictions, and hold to traditional Christian thought on gay lifestyles and gay marriage. I do believe God ’s word is clear that marriage is between a man and a woman. The writings of the apostle Paul in scripture on the subject of homosexuality are also clear, as I have mentioned in previous public statements. Hillsong Church welcomes ALL people but does not affirm all lifestyles. Put clearly, we do not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either...

National Surveys Show Decline in Support for Same-sex 'Marriage'

National Surveys Show Decline in Support for Same-sex 'Marriage' We reported last week about the phenomenal change in public opinion concerning the public's support for same-sex 'marriage' as documented by a national survey conducted by the Associated Press/Gfk . The AP/GfK survey found support for SSM down 6 points since April, and opposition up by 4 points — a combined 10 point swing in public opinion. Two other national polls have been released, both showing a similar trend. Ipsos/Reuters found in its most recent survey that 51% of adults support same-sex 'marriage,' down 3 points since April. And the latest Gallup poll showed support for same-sex 'marriage' at 58% with opposition at 40%. As we've pointed out previously , the support number is artificially high due to Gallup's use of the dubious practice of "priming" whereby they ask a leading question designed to elicit support for same-sex couples right before asking about ga...

Facebook’s conformity campaign

Image
Facebook  launched a new "Celebrate Pride" tool which lets users blend their Facebook profile photo with the rainbow flag . The tool came out soon after the U.S. Supreme Court 's ruling on same-sex marriage was announced last Friday, and it has become a massive movement. Within hours of the tool's launch,  over a million people  had changed their profile photo. It now likely reaches into almost everyone's Friend list , including mine. I was startled at first when I logged into Facebook and saw that a few of my friends had giant rainbows painted across their faces in their profile pics. My first surprise was that some of these people were conservatives, whom I had believed supported the conjugal definition of marriage . I guess I learned something about my friends this weekend. But Facebook's new tool also got me thinking.  What else is this, but a massive conformity campaign?  I look at my list of friends and breathe a sigh of relief. Only a few have d...

Lying, coercing, defrauding, and scheming - for marriage equality! The latest ‘gay bashing’ hoax

Image
Feb. 17, 2014 ( MattWalsh ) - We all know the score. This is how the game is played. They lie, and cooperate with lies, and become willing participants in things that are very likely to be lies, and they do it all for the greater good. Did you hear about the infamous gay bashing birthday party RSVP from earlier this week? The story set social media on fire.  Two gay dads threw a tie dye party for their 7-year-old daughter, Sophia, and invited all of the neighborhood children over to celebrate. But some anti-gay mother (probably a Christian, as countless people on Facebook and Twitter observed) declined the invitation, and she did so in the rudest way possible. Rather than simply offering a polite ‘sorry, we can’t make it,’ she jotted down a vicious anti-gay rant, and sent it to Sophia’s dads. The note said:  “Tommy will NOT attend. I do not believe in what you do and will not subject my innocent son to your “lifestyle.” I’m sorry Sophia has to grow u...

Homosexuals distance themselves from campaign supporting lesbian teen accused of statutory rape

Image
FLORIDA, June 4, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews ) – Not every homosexual activist is willing to stand behind  Kate Hunt , the 18-year-old Florida woman accused of statutory rape for engaging in oral sex and mutual masturbation with a 14-year-old girl. Hunt was arrested in February and charged with two felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery against a child between the ages of 12 and 16 for having sex with her then-14-year-old girlfriend (whose name is being withheld because of victim protection laws).  Florida’s age of consent is 18, or 15 as long as both partners are 18 and under.  If convicted, Hunt faces up to fifteen years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.  Kate Hunt Hunt has become a martyr of sorts for homosexual activists nationwide, who have plastered social media with personal pleas and links to a “Free Kate” website and Facebook group started by Hunt’s parents, who claim their daughter’s arrest was motivated by ‘homophobia’ on t...

Teacher suspended for criticizing gay ‘marriage’ reinstated

Image
Image via Wikipedia A social studies teacher who  was suspended  from the classroom due to comments he made on his private Facebook page condemning same-sex “marriage” is now being allowed to return to his teaching duties. Jerry Buell’s re-instatement was announced yesterday in  a press release issued by Liberty Counsel, the non-profit organization that represented him when the Lake County School Board launched an investigation after receiving a complaint about his post. Commenting on New York’s legalization of same-sex marriage, Buell had written: “I’m watching the news, eating dinner, when the story about New York okaying same sex unions came on and I almost threw up.” He went on to post: “And now they show two guys kissing after their announcement. If they want to call it a union, go ahead. But don’t insult a man and woman’s marriage by throwing it in the same cesspool as same-sex whatever! God will not be mocked. When did this sin become acceptable???” Accordin...
