Will same sex non biological kids go looking for their real biological parent?

Image
th the Supreme Court's marriage decision in Obergefell vs. Hodges, one might think that equality for gay families has arrived. But that would be a mistake. The court's ruling could work to produce new conflicts and intensify old ones. The danger arises because marriage equality doesn't immediately or necessarily erase cultural and legal attachments to biological, dual-gender parenting. Consider the position of David Blankenhorn , head of the Institute for American Values and star witness in favor of Proposition 8 when California's gay-marriage ban went on trial in 2010. Back then, Blankenhorn justified such bans based on "[t]he need … to make it as likely as we can, that the biological parents are also the social and legal parents." In 2012, Blankenhorn announced a change of heart on same-sex marriage, but he still hoped "both gays and straight[s]" could agree that "children born through artificial reproductive technology [have] the rig...

Obama funds homosexual groups in other countries

WASHINGTON, D.C. , April 29, 2013 ( C-FAM ) - In the midst of sequestration cuts that have left flyers in American airports stranded in long delays and furloughed some federal workers, the Obama administration announced it will spend development aid on promoting homosexuality and transgender confusion in other countries. Obama to Supreme Court: Denying homosexuals special rights, quotas is 'discrimination'

Image
WASHINGTON, D.C. , February 26, 2013, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The fact that Americans have regularly voted against such pillars of the homosexual agenda as granting homosexuals special rights in hiring or college admission quotas is proof that gays and lesbians face discrimination, according to the Obama administration 's amicus curiae brief seeking to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Under the section “ Gay and lesbian people have been subject to a history of discrimination,” the administration cites a number of laws, most of them repealed decades ago, as well as the results of “voter referenda.” The Justice Department document notes that attempts to add sexual preference to civil rights ordinances have “engendered significant political backlash, as evidenced by a series of successful state and local ballot initiatives, starting in the 1970s, repealing [an] anti-discrimination...law or executive order.” “In 15 of these 21 cases, a majority voted to repeal the law o...

Americans think gay population is 735% higher than it is, Gallup finds

Image
WASHINGTON, D.C. , October 19, 2012, (Family Research Center)—When a Gallup poll asked people to estimate how many Americans were homosexual in 2011, most guessed 25 percent . Turns out, they were about 22 percent off. The actual number, Gallup reported Thursday, is about 3.4 percent—a startling statistic for most people who just naturally assumed the media saturation was driven by a big population. Who can blame them? These numbers should be shocking to anyone who’s lived through the deluge of gay and lesbian policy, entertainment, school curriculum, and corporate capitulation of the past 10 years. According to Gallup, this survey is the largest single study of the U.S. LGBT population ever conducted. Over four months, Gallup canvassed the country by phone, interviewing more than 121,000 people. The results were based on answers to this question, “Do you, personally, identify as a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender?” Although surveys like this one can be tricky—po...

Why should 1.7% dictate homosexual marriages?

Kinsey interviewing a woman. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) How many gays are there in the United States? Gary Gates has an idea but acknowledges pinpointing a solid figure remains an elusive task. Mr. Gates is demographer-in-residence at the Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation Law and Public Policy , a think tank based at the University of California, Los Angeles . For the institute ’s 10th anniversary this week, he took a scholarly stab at answering the question that has been debated, avoided and parsed since sex researcher Alfred Kinsey said in the 1940s that 10 percent of the men he surveyed were “predominantly homosexual.” Mr. Gates ‘ best estimate, derived from five studies that have asked subjects about their sexual orientation, is that the nation has about 4 million adults who identify as being homosexual, representing 1.7 percent of the 18-and-over population. That’s a much lower figure than the 3 percent to 5 percent that has been the conventional wisdom in the last t...

Is 10% of the Population Homosexual?

Image
It’s often said that if you repeat something loud enough and long enough, people will begin to believe it. Such is the case with the claim that 10% of the population is homosexual. Though it’s commonly believed, the figure is rarely questioned. The media only contributes to the problem. It seems like every movie and television show includes the obligatory homosexual character(s). It’s no surprise, then, that American perception of the prevalence of homosexuality is skewed. A Gallup poll in 2002 found that Americans estimated the percentage of homosexuals to be 21.5% of the population, a startling number that would even shock pro-gay advocates! The origin of the 10% statistic is from a 1948 book by Alfred Kinsey called Sexual Behavior in the Human Male . Kinsey concluded from his research that “10 percent of the males are more or less exclusively homosexual for at least three years between the ages of 16 and 55.” [1] But just who are “the males” in Kinsey’s research? It turns out tha...

Officials admit U.S. census inflated numbers of ‘married’ same-sex households by over 160%

Image
Image via Wikipedia LOS ANGELES , October 4, 2011 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The federal government inflated census figures for “married” same-sex households by over 160%, the U.S. Census Bureau announced September 27. Officials revised their count of same-sex couples who described themselves as “spouses” from 349,377 to 131,729. They also revised their count of same-sex unmarried-partner households from 552,620 to 514,735. In total, just over one-half of one percent of households in the country were same-sex, slightly lower than the 2000 census found. Officials said the overall numbers released this summer were inflated because of an “inconsistency in responses…that artificially inflated the number of same-sex couples.” “When data were captured for these two questions on the 2010 census door-to-door form, the wrong box may have been checked for the sex of a small percentage of opposite-sex spouses and unmarried partners,”  ac Image by Getty Images via @daylife cording to  the...
