(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) BATON ROUGE, Louisiana , - A spokesperson for Democratic Governor John Edwards says religious liberty protections enacted under Edwards' predecessor will be reversed "in the near future." The same spokesperson said Edwards is considering a religious exemption in a pending " non-discrimination " executive order that would protect the religious liberty of business owners, religiously-affiliated organizations, and other groups and individuals with sincerely held religious beliefs about marriage and sexuality. According to Deadline, Edwards press secretary Shauna Sanford told the site that the governor "will issue the executive order, but it is in the drafting stage. As far as Jindal’s religious liberty order, the governor intends to rescind it in the near future.” Last year, then-Gov. Bobby Jindal signed an Executive Order ...

‘It’s absurd’: Rand Paul blasts Kim Davis’ jailing over gay ‘marriage’

Image
Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis has been arrested and taken to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples this afternoon. After repeatedly refusing to give such a license to gays and lesbians, a federal judge found her in contempt of court and sentenced her to jail time rather than assessing a fine.  As she was escorted out of the courtroom to jail, homosexuals began chanting, "Love won! Love won!"  As the scene played out, her U.S. senator, Republican presidential hopeful Rand Paul , said the decision was unwarranted, violated religious liberty, and would further polarize the country on the issue of same-sex "marriage." "I think it's absurd to put someone in jail for exercising their religious liberty," Sen. Paul, R- KY , told CNN. "If you want to convince people that same-sex 'marriage' is something that's acceptable I would say try to persuade people" instead of using state force. He also warned...

Walker, Jindal back Kentucky clerk on marriage licenses: ‘The Constitution is very clear’

Image
English: Scott Walker on February 18, 2011 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Two more GOP presidential candidates have chimed in on the issue of whether Rowan County clerk Kim Davis must provide marriage licenses for same-sex couples. While three candidates   have publicly supported Davis' right to only provide marriage licenses for man-woman couples,   three others   have said she must do so or resign. This morning, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker   told Laura Ingraham , "In the end, this is the balance that you gotta have to have in America, between the laws that are out there, but ultimately ensuring that the Constitution is upheld. I read that the Constitution is very clear that people have freedom of religion -- you have the freedom to practice religious beliefs out there, it's a fundamental right ." Walker also said that he believes the Supreme Court erred in redefining marriage. That decision has led to Davis' circumstances, which include being in cou...

Chris Christie: Clerks must perform same-sex ‘marriages’ regardless of their religious beliefs

Image
Governor of New Jersey at a town hall in Hillsborough, NJ 3/2/11 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Chris Christie is not known for nuance. This time, he has turned his fiery personality loose on county clerks and other officials who have religious objections to performing same-sex “marriages.” In a tone usually reserved for busting teachers' unions, Christie told clerks who hold traditional values, “You took the job, and you took the oath.” He would offer no exemption for an individual whose conscience would not allow him to participate in a union the vast majority of the world's religions deem sinful. “When you go back and re-read the oath it doesn’t give you an out. You have to do it,” he said. He told a reporter that there “might” be “individual circumstances” that “merit some examination, but none that come immediately to mind for me.” “I think for folks who are in the government world, they kind of have to do their job, whether you agree with the law or you don’t,” the pugna...

$840K raised for Indiana pizzeria shut down after gay activist-fueled death threats

Image
WALKERTON, IN, April 8, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) -- Last week, the O'Connor family was targeted with death threats and online harassment that forced them to close the doors to their pizza restaurant. This week, Memories Pizza may be able to reopen thanks to tens of thousands of donations from social conservatives -- and at least one lesbian who has publicly defended the family's right to religious liberty . The O'Connors' story started when a local news reporter asked if they would theoretically reject service for a gay wedding ceremony . The owner, Kevin, said that while the restaurant serves all customers, they would not be able to participate in a same-sex ceremony. Militant gay activists  subsequently targeted  the family with death threats, viciously negative online reviews of the restaurant, and other harassment -- forcing the O'Connors to close the business they had owned for nine years. Thanks to several people associated with Dana Loesch 's ...

We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of  Duck Dynasty .” Millions of Americans  have joined  facebook ...

Did Homosexual activists vandalize churches?

We as a people will elect a president of the United States : Either a man who will appoint judges that impose gay marriage on all 50 states... ...Or a man willing to fight for the values and views that you and I hold dear. More importantly: a man willing to stand up for God's view of marriage as the union of husband and wife —and who will give us a fighting chance at the Supreme Court. In November, the people of several deep blue states will have a chance—thanks to you!—to vote to protect marriage as the union of husband and wife. And in Iowa, the people will have a chance once again to express their disapproval of the activist judges who imposed gay marriage on that state against its citizens will! Here's a snapshot of me with Gov. Bobby Jindal on the "No Wiggins" bus. Iowa is accustomed to being a central battleground in politics, being first among the nation's caucuses; but now Iowans have a chance not only to help elect a new president, but to un-elect an ...
