LGBT ‘Pride’ Masses taking over multiple Catholic dioceses in England

Image
The Catholic Diocese of Salford in north-west England has become the latest of multiple Catholic dioceses around the United Kingdom to begin hosting “LGBT+ Masses.” In Salford, as in the other dioceses, the LGBT+ Masses enjoy the support of their respective local bishops. Advertisements for the Masses have become widely available in churches and on various official parish and diocesan websites. Many of these advertisements are emblazoned with the rainbow flag or popular Catholic images such as crosses or the Sacred Heart filled with rainbow colors. Several of the groups involved in organizing these Masses take part in their local homosexual “pride” events. In none of the advertisements or official publications about these Masses is the Catholic Church’s authoritative,  constant teaching that homosexual sexual acts are inherently sinful  made clear.  Playing a key role in the promotion and support of many of these Masses is the group “ Quest .” Quest  states...

US bishops claim $750K grant to pro-LGBT org does not violate Catholic teaching

Image
A week and a half ago, the Lepanto Institute published an article illustrating the rampant promotion of homosexuality and transgenderism by an organization called the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN). The US Conference of Catholic Bishops' anti-poverty program, Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) is providing a strategic grant of $750,000 to ISN over the next three years. A supporter of the Lepanto Institute contacted the USCCB to ask why the CCHD is providing three-quarters of a million dollars to an organization so steeped in the promotion of grave sin and depravity. Alexandra Carroll, the USCCB's Communications Manager for Social Mission, responded by claiming that ISN had not violated Catholic teaching, and in fact asserted that ISN's pro-LGBT conferences to high school children and young adults confirmed with the Catechism's admonition that "every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided" [Catechism 2358]. Church must be united against LGBT propaganda

Image
“Pride Month” has come to an end. And for the first two days of July, the first readings at Mass told the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. I’d call that a coincidence — if I believed in coincidences. Just after the middle of the month, Joseph Sciambra posted a very provocative comment on his Facebook page. Sciambra knows whereof he speaks; having once been caught up in the homosexual underworld, since experiencing a conversion he has made it his special mission to reach out to homosexuals, helping to heal their wounds. And they are wounded. The grotesque excesses on display at “Gay Pride” events are evidence that these people need help. Sciambra observes: "But there is a far greater evil (than any 'Pride' Parade) that goes largely unchecked and mostly unchallenged in the Catholic Church: the ongoing problem of priests and prelates and their lay underlings who openly disseminate their own spin on LGBT propaganda. What makes their actions grossly evil — is that they do s...

Catholic school parts ways with gay ‘married’ teacher, follows archbishop’s directives

Image
Just days after Brebeuf Jesuit High School  defied Archbishop Charles Thompson’s  decree stripping its Catholic identity, another Catholic high school in Indianapolis has acknowledged his authority and will “separate” from a teacher in a fake marriage or homosexual “marriage.” On Sunday, Cathedral High School announced that it would part ways with a teacher in a “public, same-sex marriage” out of concern that defying Archbishop Thompson’s decree could cost its nonprofit status and having Masses celebrated on campus.  A letter from the school’s board of directors  said its “agonizing decision” came after nearly two years of “earnest discussion and extensive dialogue with the Archdiocese” about the school’s “continued Catholic identity.” Noting that Archbishop Thompson has “responsibility to oversee faith and morals as related to Catholic identity,” the letter said he made it clear that keeping a teacher who is in a “public, same-sex marriage” would mean losing...

Layman responds to Fr. James Martin: ‘It’s hate not to tell LGBT that gay sex leads to hell’

Image
To not tell Catholics who identify as LGBT that homosexual acts will lead them to hell is actually showing them hate. This was the bold message delivered Wednesday to the family conference running concurrently to the Vatican’s LGBT-affirming World Meeting of Families (WMOF) in Dublin, Ireland this week. Telling the truth to LGBT Catholics is urgent because we decide where we’re going for all of eternity by our choices and actions during our lives. “That’s the seriousness of what we’re dealing with here,” said Westen. “And that’s the seriousness we need to convey to all those in our lives who are afflicted with sexual confusion.” “It’s hate not to tell LGBT Catholics that gay sex leads to hell,” he told attendees at “A Conference of Catholic Families.” Westen noted for the audience how not more than 10-minutes’ walk from the Conference locale Jesuit Father James Martin would be delivering the message to Catholic families at the Vatican-presented WMOF that homosexuality and transgende...

Youth synod document’s use of LGBT ‘is a big problem’

Image
For the first time in history, Vatican officials have seemingly embraced the notion that some people are born gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender via the inclusion of the term “LGBT” in the preparatory document for the Holy See’s upcoming Youth Synod. MADNESS! Pro-LGBT Catholic organizations have cheered this as an important milestone . Fr. James Martin, SJ, the priest who stands at the forefront of promoting the normalization of homosexuality and transgenderism within the Church, accurately observed that for orthodox Catholics “It will be harder to object now,” to the infiltration of gay ideology. Rome’s inclusion of the term was met with immediate, forceful pushback. A big problem, big mistake “This is a big problem. We do not use the political language of the gay rights and associated movement when analyzing the nature of man and the nature of sin,” said Fr. Gerald Murray, speaking on EWTN’s The World Over . “The Catholic Church does not accept that there is a category of ...

Rebellious Priest says the sin of homosexuality no longer a sin - God disagrees

Image
The Bible ’s condemnation of homosexual acts should be taken in “context” with Biblical times, Jesuit Father James Martin  told   Georgetown University students recently. Martin said as well that Catholics who support gay “marriage” should have no problem considering themselves Catholic, despite having chosen to reject Church teaching. Martin inferred at his January 31  appearance  at the Jesuit school that the Bible’s negative pronouncements on homosexual acts – which are grounded in natural law – are like other Biblical declarations on topics such as the practice of charging interest on a loan. These pronouncements being made during a particular epoch renders them applicable in that given historical context, he said. Catholics should be invited to “understand the Bible,” he said, and to understand the Bible’s tradition of condemning homosexual acts “within the context of history.” A young woman had asked  Martin  how, given the repeated ...
