Psychologists and the Gay agenda

Image
In the late 1990s, some in the psychiatric establishment considered the homosexual therapy to be a nonstarter. Some therapists thought of homosexuality as a disorder, others did not. the APA under pressure from homosexuals outside and inside the APA voted to change homosexuality no longer being a mental disorder. They voted on science? Up into the 1970s, the field’s diagnostic manual classified homosexuality as an illness, calling it a “ sociopathic personality disturbance.” Many therapists offered treatment, including Freudian analysts who dominated the field at the time. Homosexuals naturally objected, and in 1970, one year after Stonewall protests at a New York bar, homosexual protesters heckled a meeting of behavioral therapists in New York to discuss the topic. The meeting broke up, but not before a Columbia University professor sat down with the protesters to hear their case.  “I’ve always been drawn to controversy, and what I was hearing made sense,” said Dr. Spitze...

Can Homosexuals change or born gay?

Image
Cannot change what—behavior or orientation? Many homosexuals have changed not only their behavior but also their orientation (desires).  Thousands of ex-homosexuals testify of their change, and renowned Columbia University psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Spitzer, documented some of those changes. His 2003 study shows that some highly motivated individuals can change their orientation from homosexual to heterosexual through reorientation therapy . 67  This is significant because Spitzer is no propagandist for the religious right. Quite the contrary—a self-described “ Jewish atheist ,” Spitzer was considered a hero by gay activists for getting homosexuality declassified as a mental disorder back in 1973.  Homosexual activists don’t like his new study though. In an interview, Dr. Spitzer said that his study “has been criticized severely by many people, particularly gay activists, who apparently feel quite threatened by it. They have the feeling that in order to get their civil ...

Decrease of suicide risk with delay of self labeling as gay

Image
Decrease of suicide risk with delay of self labeling By Neil E. Whitehead, PhD September 2005 Summary : Remafedi et al. state in a study of attempted suicide among gay and bisexual youth that the risk diminished by 80% per year. I show this is a misprint and should read “diminished to [bolding added] 80% each year” The paper under consideration is Remafedi, G, Farrow, JA, Deisher, RW, (1991) Risk factors for attempted suicide in gay and bisexual youth. Pediatrics 87:869-875. The 137 male subjects mostly lived in Minnesota and Washington states. In it the authors state (p74): For each year’s delay in bisexual or homosexual self-labeling, the odds of a suicide attempt diminished by 80%. This is a dramatic statistic, but immediately suspicious. The ages involved were 14-21. If he risk is taken as 100% at age 14, it would be 20% at age 15, 4% at age 16, 0.8% at age 17 and about 0.15% at age 18. After that anyone who self labeled as gay or bisexual would essentially never commit ...

Gay Teens still suicide within a positive social environment. Why?

Image
Peter Sprigg Last week, the journal  Pediatrics  published a  study  designed to bolster the political case for pro- homosexual policies in schools. The  Associated Press  described the findings this way: “ Suicide attempts by gay teens — and even straight kids — are more common in politically conservative areas where schools don’t have programs supporting gay rights.” The study’s author, Mark Hatzenbuehler of Columbia University , called his findings “a call to action in providing a roadmap for how we can begin to reduce suicide in LGB youth.” Enact anti-discrimination policies that include “ sexual orientation ” as a protected category, adopt anti-bullying policies that give special protections to homosexuals instead of protecting everyone equally, and form pro-homosexual “gay-straight alliances” in the schools, and you will save lives, he appears to be saying. (Oh, and it also helps to have more homosexual couples and registered Democrats living in ...

A twist in Study: gay teens five times more likely to attempt suicide

Image
Teens who self-identify as homosexual are five times more likely than their heterosexual counterparts to attempt suicide, according to a study released last week. The study, published in the journal Pediatrics online on April 18, was conducted in order to determine whether living in a gay friendly social environment affected the risk of a teen identifying as homosexual committing suicide . It found that teens in “unsupportive” social environments were 20 percent more at risk of attempting suicide than those in “supportive” environments. “This study documents an association between an objective measure of the social environment and suicide attempts among lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth,” concludes the study abstract, adding that the results “have important implications for the development of policies and interventions to reduce sexual orientation–related disparities in suicide attempts.” But Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council pointed out that the takeaway finding from...

Arguments supporting Gays used to support incest

Image
Image via Wikipedia There are certain questions now pressed upon us that previous generations would never believe could be asked. One of these is thrust upon us by events in New York City , where a well-known Ivy League professor has been arrested for the crime of incest . What makes the question urgent is not so much the arrest, but the controversy surrounding it. David Epstein is a professor of political science at Columbia University , where his wife also teaches. He previously taught on the faculties of Harvard and Stanford. Last week, he was arraigned before a judge in Manhattan , charged with a single count of felony incest. According to authorities, Professor Epstein was for several years involved in a sexual relationship with his adult daughter, now age 24. Though the story was ignored by much of the mainstream media, it quickly found its way into the cultural conversation. William Saletan of Slate.com, who remains one of today’s most relevant writers working on the issue...

If Homosexuality is legal why not incest?

Image
Image via Wikipedia The attorney for David Epstein , a Colombia university professor charged with incest with his adult daughter, is defending sex between family members by appealing to homosexual “rights” as a precedent. Epstein’s lawyer, Matthew Galluzzo, told ABC News that “It’s OK for homosexuals to do whatever they want in their own home. How is this so different? We have to figure out why some behavior is tolerated and some is not.” “What goes on between consenting adults in private should not be legislated. That is not the proper domain of our law,” Galluzo told the Huffington Post , which publishes Epstein’s articles. “If we assume for a moment that both parties are consenting, then why are we prosecuting this?” “Academically, we are obviously all morally opposed to incest and rightfully so,” Galluzzo stated in his interview with ABC . “At the same time, there is an argument to be made in the Swiss case to let go what goes on privately in bedrooms.” Galluzzo was refe...
