This is Why I Don’t Believe Polls on Same-Sex Marriage

Image
Disney’s recent movie Strange World and the summer’s Lightyear both bombed at the box office. The Wall Street Journal recently called this “an unusual record for a company long considered a guaranteed hitmaker in children’s entertainment.” It was more than that. The Wall Street Journal won’t tell you one of the big reasons the two films bombed. It’s the same reason Bros — the movie whose poster showed two men grabbing each other’s buttocks — bombed. Few Americans go to the theatre to see same-sex relationships promoted. And this is why I don’t believe the polls show such a huge shift in support of same-sex marriage in the seven years since Obergefell. The practice has gained support from a solid majority of our political class, as the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act shows. But it doesn’t have so much support from everyone else. What People Don’t Tell Pollsters Don’t get me wrong. I don’t dispute that there has been some shift. And I don’t dispute that large numbers of people te...

Justices Thomas and Alito lash out at the decision that cleared way for same-sex marriage

Image
Justice Clarence Thomas, joined by Justice Samuel Alito, lashed out on Monday at the religious liberty implications of the Supreme Court's 2015 decision that cleared the way for same-sex marriage nationwide. Thomas wrote that the decision, Obergefell v. Hodges, "enables courts and governments to brand religious adherents who believe that marriage is between one man and one woman as bigots, making their religious liberty concerns that much easier to dismiss." Thomas' strong opinion came down on the first day of the court's new term and reflects the fact that critics of the landmark opinion from five years ago that was penned by now-retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, are still infuriated by its reasoning. They believe the court should have left the decision to the political arena and have long said that it will infringe upon the rights of those who have religious objections to same-sex marriage. Supporters of LGBTQ rights are fearful that the court is poised to contin...

Finnish Christian MP interrogated again about her views on homosexuality

Image
Päivi Räsänen, a member of the Finnish parliament and former government minister, was summoned to a police interrogation – again. The answers she gave at 10am on 25 August 2020 at the police station of Pasila (Helsinki) was the third time she had to respond to the police because of suspicion of agitation against immoral homosexuality , which is now a crime that according to the Penal Code of Finland could lead to a prison sentence of up to two years. Gays can lie and trick and fool you into prison. It was one more step in the case opened against her by the Prosecutor General of Finland in pre-trial investigations that started in 2019, when Räsänen posted a Bible verse about homosexuality with a personal message on her social media accounts in which she criticized the fact that the Finnish Lutheran Church had openly supported the country’s LGBTQ Pride events. A radio talk show This time, the politician of the Christian Democratic Party had to give explanations about her remarks in a ta...

The Cultural Left Bares Its Teeth: An Open Threat to Churches and Christians Who Hold to Biblical Conviction

Image
A moral, political, and cultural earthquake tremored last Thursday night as CNN’s Equality Town Hall featured the leading contenders for the Democratic Nomination for President of the United States. The rhetoric of the candidates finally bared the teeth of a Democratic Party sold out to the most radical proposals of the LGBTQ movement. Indeed, a particular exchange between CNN anchor Don Lemon and former Congressman Beto O’Rourke revealed to what extent contenders for the Democratic Nomination will go to deconstruct religious liberty in the name of the newly declared sexual liberties. Lemon asked O’Rourke,  “This is from your LGBTQ plan, this is what you wrote: “Freedom of religion is a fundamental right, but it should not be used to discriminate.” Lemon then pressed the question: “Do you think religious institutions like colleges, churches, charities, should they lose their tax-exempt status if they oppose same-sex marriage?” Without skipping a beat or drawing a breat...

Fake Christian teacher takes Christian School to Court over LGBT

Image
So-called “equality” advocates are showing their anti-freedom credentials with the latest complaint to be lodged against a Christian school for having the audacity to try and ensure that Christian teaching on marriage and family is expressed in its classrooms. The Ballarat Christian College story For those who missed the story, Rachel Colvin, a former teacher at Ballarat Christian College, issuing the school for discrimination. Rachael Colvin is suing her former employer, Ballarat Christian College. The case has fundamental implications for whether religious schools will be allowed to require the support of employees for their official goals or whether official Christian mission statements are regarded as intrinsically discriminatory – and therefore illegal. Ms. Colvin worked at the school between 2008-11, and then came back as a part-time teacher in July 2016.  About a year before Ms. Colvin returned, Ballarat Christian College had made the news because it sent an ema...

Moms expose library’s shocking ‘Youth Pride’ event: homosexuality, transgenderism, drag queens

Image
Have you ever wondered what REALLY goes on at “gay” high school and middle school clubs and other “youth pride” programs for schoolchildren? We’re constantly told that it’s all about tolerance, anti-bullying, “AIDS education,” and especially feeling “safe.” We’re told that we must trust the adults running these events – who are unsupervised and lacking background checks. Virtually all of these programs take place at schools or offsite locations where parents (and the public) are easily excluded. The short answer is: It’s a nightmare – and it’s anything but “safe” for children! 'Teen Pride' event planned at a public library But on Saturday, June 22, the local LGBT groups in Renton, Washington scheduled a “Teen Pride” event at the local public library. In early June when some parents in Renton first noticed  the library promotion  for the “Teen Pride” event, they were very worried. Among other things, it advertised “safer sex presentations” and a “drag show,” as well a...

Transgender Revolution is Turning the World Upside Down for Nothing

Image
It is often said (misquoting G. K. Chesterton) that when a man stops believing in God, he doesn’t believe in nothing, he’ll believe anything. Not so. The transgender revolution proves people without God will happily believe in nothing. Transgender ideology is as nothing as nothing could be. There’s no reason for it. No argument at all. Even the Communist revolution was built on firmer ground — which is saying a lot. Take one complete disaster of a horrific idea, then imagine another one that has even fewer reasons supporting it. Now you’re in transgenderism’s neighborhood. I’m talking about trans activism here, not gender dysphoria. So I’m not questioning gender dysphoric persons’ need for understanding, compassion and authentic care. It’s a difficult, distressing condition — but it afflicts fewer than one-tenth of one percent of adults. Take one complete disaster of a horrific idea, then imagine another one that has even fewer reasons supporting it. Now you’re in transgende...

The Evil Too Few Have Seen Behind Transgenderism’s Mind Control

Image
There’s a witch in C. S. Lewis’s  The Silver Chair,  the “Queen of the Underland,” whose words and magically convince the story’s heroes that the world above ground isn’t real. This mind-control magic shows up often in fairy tales and fantasy stories. And it’s always an evil witch or wizard who’s responsible — because it’s always wrong to force your thoughts, your views, your “reality” on another, allowing them no resistance. Which is exactly the sort of evil you see being practiced in today’s transgender movement? I’m frankly shocked more people aren’t calling activists to account for it. Maybe we’re not reading enough stories. Think of it: When a man says, “I’m actually a woman,” those words aren’t merely supposed to change your view of him. They’re supposed to change  reality  — for everyone. He is now a woman, a reality that comes into being simply through the power of his words. We must speak to him as a woman, see him as one, think of him as one. We m...
