Kansas Bill Would Outlaw Same-Sex Fake Marriages

Image
Many Kansas legislators are pushing a bill that would classify same-sex marriages as “parody marriages or fake marriage” and prevent the state from recognizing them. Many people agree with this definition but are fearful of saying anything because of the abuse they will receive. The bill has a great chance of becoming law under the state’s new Democratic governor. But anti-LGBTQ politicians in Kansas are seeking to make same-sex fake marriage an issue as the legislature considers a measure to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. “Same-sex couples’ marriage affects me — their union or whatever you want to call it. But in my opinion, they’re trying to force their beliefs on society,” Republican Rep. Randy Garber, the bill’s lead sponsor, told the paper. Garber’s legislation comes shortly after the introduction of a Tennessee bill that seeks to keep that state from recognizing same-sex fake marriages. Garber acknowledged that calling same-sex unions “parody...

Pro-LGBT Corporate America strong-arms Kansas into submission

Image
Religious liberty and the best interests of vulnerable children hang in the balance as Corporate America again flexes its immoral unfair muscle to coerce and bully a state into bending to the will of LGBT special interest groups.   Apple, Google and Amazon––along with more than 80 other tech companies––have declared their opposition to the Kansas  Adoption Protection Act , warning of “dire" economic consequences” if the legislation is enacted. The group of organizations, which calls itself “ TechNet ,” sent Kansas legislators a  letter  on Friday calling the measure a “license to discriminate.”   The proposed legislation is aimed at preventing the state from denying financial aid it would otherwise award to faith-based adoption agencies who, because of their “sincerely held religious beliefs,” choose not to place children in the homes of gays and lesbians. The campaign is orchestrated by the behemoth Washington, DC -based pro-gay lobbying or...

California bans travel to states that protect Christians who oppose gay ‘marriage’

Image
The state of California has ordered a travel ban for its government employees to states that have adopted laws to protect religious freedom. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra , a pro-abortion Democrat, has  unilaterally prohibited all state-sanctioned trips  to Alabama , Kentucky, South Dakota , and Texas because those states have passed legislation allowing those who uphold natural marriage and biological gender to live by their sincerely-held beliefs. Becerra’s actions are designed to pressure target states to abandon religious freedom laws protecting Christians who oppose sodomy and/or disagree with gender theory.   The latest four additions bring California’s “No Visiting List” to eight states in the lower 48, or eight percent of the country. Becerra noted his reasons for adding the four states: Alabama enacted a law in May that allows Christian adoption agencies to follow their faith’s moral criteria for placing children in homes. Their ...

Utah cop who refused to lead gay parade urges love for homosexuals – police chief accuses him of hatred

Image
SALT LAKE CITY, UT , February 26, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Last year, Salt Lake City police officer Eric Moutsos left his job after he was  suspended  for refusing to ride in the motorcycle brigade at the head of the city’s gay pride parade .  Now, after months of silence, Moutsos is speaking out, telling the  Associated Press  in an interview that his superiors violated his constitutional right to religious freedom when they tried to force him to take a public role in the event. Moutsos, 33, was placed on administrative leave for “discrimination” after he objected to his assignment at the front of the gay pride parade and asked to be placed in a less visible role. “It looks like we and I are in support of this parade,” Moutsos said he told his bosses. “I said I would feel the same way if this was an abortion parade. I would feel the same way if it was a marijuana parade.” Moutsos told the AP that he had no problem working the event in another capaci...

U.S. Supreme Court blocks gay ‘marriage’ in Kansas…temporarily

Image
English: Sonia Sotomayor, U.S. Supreme Court justice (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The U.S. Supreme Court has temporarily blocked a lower court's order forcing the state of Kansas to begin recognizing same-sex “marriages” today. Justice  Sonia Sotomayor , who handles emergency appeals, issued the surprising order  at 5:58 p.m. Monday evening. The order may be quite temporary, as it states the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Kansas, which brought the lawsuit, must respond by 4 p.m. Central time today. The confusion over the duration of the order mirrors the bewildering legal landscape in the state. The state Supreme Court has instructed officials in all 105 counties not to issue marriage licenses to homosexual couples pending the outcome of a case that is still ongoing. After the  U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear appeals cases from states over judicial decisions redefining marriage  on October 6, a lesbian couple in Johnson County known as ...

A lesbian non-relative has parental rights, sex ed soon to become harder to avoid, and more

WASHINGTON, D.C. , February 25, 2013,  ( LifeSiteNews.com )  – As 2013 moves forward, the issues of abortion, same-sex “marriage,” and the rights of parents to ensure that public schools do not violate their moral principles have spread to statehouses across the nation. Kansas An unrelated lesbian has the same custodial rights over her former partner's children as their biological mother , the Kansas Supreme Court has ruled. The state high court ruled last Friday that Marci Frazier enjoyed the same rights over two children that her former partner, Kelly Goudschaal, conceived via artificial insemination as the biological mother herself. The justices ruled that they were upholding Frazier's relationship with Goudschaal's children in the name of “the benefits to the children,” specifically “in maintaining the inherent benefits of having two parents.” You may  read the ruling here . Colorado Legislators in Colorado voted to make it more difficult for parents to sh...

Kansas law would force churches to host same-sex ‘weddings,’ receptions

Official seal of South Hutchinson, Kansas (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Official seal of Hutchinson, Kansas (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) HUTCHINSON, KANSAS , – A proposed ordinance in one of the nation’s most conservative states would force churches to rent their property out for same-sex “weddings” and receptions. It would also force any public venue to allow people to use showers, restrooms, and locker-rooms based on their “ gender identity ,” rather than their “sex at birth.” The city council of Hutchinson, Kansas, is considering enacting a new statute adding sexual orientation and sexual identity to the city’s non-discrimination policy in all public accommodations. The measure would specifically include churches that rent their property to the public. “If a church has a parish hall that they rent out to the general public, they could not discriminate against a gay couple who want to rent the building for a party,” such as a same-sex ceremony or reception, according to a  city FAQ ...
