We salute this brave woman standing for traditional marriage

Image
Senator FIERRAVANTI-WELLS (New South Wales— Minister for International Development and the Pacific ) (16:33): I welcome the opportunity to contribute to this debate on the Marriage Amendment (Definition and Religious Freedoms) Bill 2017. In doing so, I echo the sentiments of almost five million Australians who, like me, voted no. Some senators have touched on the history of the Marriage Act. You would think that the traditional definition of marriage commenced only in 2004, conveniently overlooking the fact that the amendment passed the parliament with barely a whisper of opposition. In fact, the division on the final bill even showed Senator Wong as listed among the ayes. The Howard amendment, of course, merely confirmed what common law—a near universal understanding—had known for centuries: that marriage is the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others voluntarily entered into for life. Today, even to suggest this point of view quickly leads to cries of bigotry or...

Gay marriage isn't about love - it's about control

Image
' Gay marriage isn't about love': Former Labor leader Mark Latham says ' Yes ' same-sex marriage campaign is about mind control and claims it threatens democracy. Media commentator Mark Latham says gay marriage is mind control not love. Ex-Labor leader made comments ahead of Sydney launch of 'Outsiders' book. He described the tactics of 'Yes' campaign as a threat to Australian democracy. Former Labor leader Mark Latham has likened gay marriage to mind control as 'No' campaigners are barred from speaking at venues they had paid for. The media commentator and author said the 'Yes' campaign's tactics were a threat to democracy itself after same-sex marriage opponents were shut out of two venues in Hobart. 'It's about control of what people can say, what people can think, what people can believe in and even where people can speak,' he told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday ahead of the Sydney launch for his new...

Homosexual Activist Admits True Purpose of Battle is to Destroy Marriage

Image
Even knowing that there are radicals in all movements, doesn’t  lessen the startling admission recently by lesbian journalist  Masha Gessen .  On a radio show she actually admits that homosexual activists are lying about their radical political agenda .   She says that they don’t want to access the institution of marriage; they want to radically redefine and eventually eliminate it.  Here is what she recently said on a radio interview:  “It’s a no-brainer that (homosexual activists) should have the right to marry, but I also think equally that it’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist. …(F)ighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there — because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie.  The institution of marriage is going to change, and it should change. And again, I don’t think it should exist. And I...

Bitterness drive AMA leader to support immoral same-sex marriage despite huge conservative backlash

Image
DOCTORS WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND BIOLOGY -BUT SUPPORT IMMORAL  IDEOLOGY The AMA is supporting immoral same-sex marriage despite a massive internal conservative backlash.  With only a few former Australian Medical Association bosses joining the cause and urging a "yes" vote on health grounds - one of which is the leader of the same sex movement. AMA President Michael Gannon lied about research on homosexuals and their children but despite being found in a lie - his leadership team have vowed to continue advocating for change despite facing massive blowback from many conservative doctors unhappy with the peak group's stance. The reason is many doctors understand biology and science but their leader is about ideology, not science and not health. Dr Glasson is a former Liberal candidate who was denied a seat in Federal Parliament partly because of his support for same-sex marriage. He was frontrunner to fill a casual vacancy in the Senate in 2015, but lost out to th...

Why would you throw a kid into the crosshairs of the homosexual marriage debate?

Image
Why would you throw a kid into the crosshairs of the homosexual marriage debate?   Bill Shorten  (Labor Leader) brings boy with two mothers to parliament to give speech to justify  gay marriage - but should he be using children to prove his point? Shorten a former union leader, only came to fame when he inserted himself on TV during a mining disaster. He is a dominant homosexual marriage supporter and has utter contempt for anybody who opposes immoral homosexual marriage.  Bill Shorten has used a young boy in his personal campaign for homosexual marriage. The Labor Leader paraded the boy with two mums outside Parliament House.  The boy urged people to 'vote yes' to same-sex marriage in the postal survey. Mr Shorten was slammed online for 'manipulating a child for political gains' 'Using a child to campaign is disgusting. How low can you stoop,' a critic said. Labor leader Bill Shorten has divided his own colleagues, and the nation by paradi...

Free speech and vilification in the marriage law postal survey

Image
Australia is involved in a debate about whether same sex marriage should be introduced. The question is being put to the electors in the form of a voluntary postal survey, the  question  in which is simply: “Should the law be changed to allow same sex couples to marry?” The original intention of the current Government had been to put this question to the people of Australia in a compulsory plebiscite. This option being defeated twice in Parliament, the postal survey has been designed to be run without explicit authorising legislation . However, once it was decided that the survey would proceed, concerns were expressed that the debate might contain misleading and deceptive advertising, which would usually have been dealt with under the electoral laws (but since the survey was not being run under those laws, no such protections applied for the survey.) In addition, concerns were expressed about hateful and harmful speech on both side of the debate. In response to...

Marriage has always been about raising children

Image
Not all married people have children.  Not all children are conceived within marriage.  But the fundamental reason the man-woman union has been recognised throughout history, by almost all cultures, is children – and their need to be raised in a stable, caring environment. That environment has been shown, time and again, to be with their biological mother and father, publicly committed to each other and the children they have created together. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule.  But a  very large 2010 US survey of child abuse and neglect  (“NIS-4”) studied abuse and neglect reports from six different family types and found that families headed by two biological married parents were safest by far on every measure. Six different family types The six different family structures studied in NIS-4 (Chapter 5.3) were those where the child was living with: two married biological parents two married parents (eg one biological parent marri...
