Homosexual Scout leaders

Image
I posted my initial thoughts on BSA’s decision to allow openly homosexual scouts. The feedback I received fell basically into two groups. One group was supportive of our decision not to continue in scouts. The other group said something along the lines of, “Would your church kick out people who struggle with homosexuality or same-sex attraction?” or “Since people in churches struggle with all types of sins, will you pull your family out of church too?” I appreciate the sentiment behind the questions, but I think there is a considerable misunderstanding of why our family (and many others) will not be part of BSA anymore. This is not a question of whether there are scouts who struggle with same-sex attraction. I’m sure there are now and have always been people in scouting who struggle in that way. The policy change by BSA says that being openly homosexual is not inconsistent with being “morally straight.” A number of people have pointed out that the BSA decision maintains that no scout,...

Lesbianism: Gender Exclusive relationships

Image
My daughter was catching up on her college homework. Chapter Ten in her psychology textbook is titled “Sex and Gender.” It covers topics such as gender differences, similarities, and stereotypes. The chapter wends its way from transgender issues to sexual harassment to the glass ceiling , the invisible but real boundary in the workplace beyond which women are not welcome. The book defines sexism as “differential treatment of an individual on the basis of his or her sex.” As the text points out, more than half of all women in the United States now work outside the home. They are breaking through the glass ceiling and garnering high-profile positions in private industry, government, and politics. There is one domain, however, in which women are increasingly discriminated against and excluded: families. Ironically, same-sex marriage laws do this in the name of equality. We open our hearts and minds and definition of marriage to include two men, and in doing so we close the door to a ...

Homosexuality, slavery sexism and the Bible

The homosexual activists argument goes like this...because the Bible is wrong on slavery and sexism , therefore the Bible is also wrong on homosexuality.  But it begs the question : “Does the Bible Condone Slavery and Sexism?” No says James Hamilton:  right here for free .

Kevin Rudd slavery and homosexuality

Scars of a whipped slave (April 2, 1863, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. Original caption: "Overseer Artayou Carrier whipped me. I was two months in bed sore from the whipping. My master come after I was whipped; he discharged the overseer. The very words of poor Peter, taken as he sat for his picture." (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Does the Bible condone slavery and sexism? Of course not! The suggestion is ridiculous, but we live in a world where absurd conclusions seem as rational as the truth is preposterous. The Prime Minister Kevin Rudd tried this form of argument on a Christian pastor on ABC's Q& A.  All sorts of wicked ideas advance on the power of subtle insinuation and grow strong by the sneaking suggestion. Often this argument is used by homosexual activist to deny Bible statements on the prohibition of homosexuality. If the Bible is wrong on sexism and slavery then it is also wrong on homosexuality...so the argument goes. If there is a surface-level ...

Kevin Rudd wrong on Homosexual Marriage

Image
English: Kevin Rudd, 26th Prime Minister of Australia. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Kevin Rudd  the new again Labor leader, falsely concluded that because the Bible supports both Slavery and Sexism .  His argument given to him by a hard working Labor staffer and homosexual (claiming to be a Christian with his pastors full support) is that the Bible got it wrong on slavery and sexism therefore the Bible is also wrong on homosexuality .  See the logic. But are the statements true?  Kevin Rudd also claims to be a Christian and attends church and is also the defacto Prime Minister.  But is his argument correct?  “Does the Bible Condone Slavery and Sexism?” James Hamilton responds with a firm NO!   right here for free . LGBTQIA: the expanding gender agenda

Image
February 6, 2013 (Mercatornet.com) - Last month  The New York Times  published  an article  on the latest expansion of sexual identity among students at progressive universities in the United States . LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) no longer covers it, according to a handful of students who seem to have nothing better to do than reinvent themselves. “Generation LGBTQIA” want recognition for queer, intersex and asexual proclivities as well. According to the  Times , this list by no means is final but continually being added to as students “move beyond the binary of male/female”, heterosexual/homosexual and reject the normal. Most people are unaware of the inroads made by gender theory -- the ideology that has produced “Generation LBGTQIA” -- or of the dangers it presents. Part of the confusion lies in the fact that there are several different theories of gender each of which is based on a false understanding of the human person. The various t...
