Federal bill would penalize adoption agencies that prioritize heterosexual couples

Image
May 14, 2013 ( FRC.org ) - The Left has a funny way of celebrating Mother's Day. First, the President issues a  bizarre tweet  reminding moms that his gift is free birth control -- presumably so they never have to become mothers again. Then, of course, there was Secretary Arne Duncan 's announcement that the Department of Education would stop acknowledging moms' existence altogether. Starting in 2014, the DOE is replacing "mother" and "father" with  "Parent 1" and "Parent 2"  on its student aid forms in an effort to be more politically correct (and anatomically incorrect). Now, some in Congress want to get in on the act with  a bill  that would intentionally deprive children of a mother. Under this legislation, the government would punish any adoption agency that gives priority to married, heterosexual couples. The bill, co-sponsored by Reps. John Lewis (D-Ga.) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), would cut off the federal fund...

What pro-homosexual don't tell you

Here is the way same-sex marriage is “advertised” today: 1. Legalizing same-sex marriage will allow gay and lesbian couples to have the same hospital visitation rights , etc. as other married couples . 2. Legalizing same-sex marriage will put an end to discrimination by affording gay and lesbian couples the same rights as heterosexual couples. 3. Same-sex marriage won’t affect other types of marriages. What’s the big deal, right? THE FINE PRINT Here is the fine print below the advertisement, just a few of the implications of legally redefining marriage. 1. When it comes to the family , there is no qualifiable difference between a mom and a dad. Supporting same-sex marriage is saying the law of the land should reflect the fact that two dads are just as good for kids as a dad and mom. Gender plays no role in parenting. No civil institution should reinforce the idea that men and women bring different gifts and skills to parenting. No civil institution should uphold t...

Gay British actor receives death threats for remarks opposing ‘marriage,’ adoption

LONDON , October 9, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The popular gay actor Rupert Everett has told British media that he has received several death threats for his comments opposing the government’s plans to create gay “marriage.” “I’ve now had all this hate mail and there have been death threats, too,” Everett told the Daily Telegraph , Sept. 30th.  Rupert Everett “All the queens out there now have it in for me,” the 53 year-old actor said. “I’m loathed by them. I’m having to take evasive action.” Everett  came under fire  from the homosexual community after he told an interviewer with the Sunday Times Magazine that he could not think of “anything worse than being brought up by two gay dads.” In response to the tidal wave of criticism from homosexuals and celebrities, Everett asked for an interview with the Guardian’s Decca Aitkenhead to “explain what he meant.” Everett clarified that he “loathes” heterosexual weddings and thinks the entire institutio...

Gay actor: ‘I can’t think of anything worse than being brought up by two gay dads’

Image
British actor Rupert Everett says he “can’t think of anything worse” than two gay men bringing up a child together—an opinion that is probably held by vast numbers of people who would not dare to say so in public. But, thanks to the magic shield of celebrity, actors can get away with speech “crimes” that the rest of us would (metaphorically) hang for. Rupert Everett. Being gay himself also deflects criticism—Everett came out as a homosexual 20 years ago and has said that this damaged his acting career. His comments on gay parenting were made in an interview with the  Sunday Times Magazine last weekend (alas,  The Times  is only accessible to paid subscribers so we rely on  The Telegraph  here). Everett, probably best know for his role as a gay man in the 1997 film  My Best Friend’s Wedding , says his mother, Sara, who was also interviewed for the article, “still wishes I had a wife and kids. She thinks children need a father and a mother, and...

I can’t think of anything worse that being brought up by two gay dads.

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Everett was seen as a champion for gay actors when he decided to come out of the closet two decades ago. Now Rupert Everett finds himself in a somewhat less enviable position. The 53-year-old actor has been rounded on by gay rights groups after saying: "I can’t think of anything worse that being brought up by two gay dads." Everett’s comments are likely to offend celebrity parents such as Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish . The couple have a 21-month-old son Zachary, born to a surrogate mother. Ben Summerskill , chief executive of the gay rights group Stonewall, said: "Rupert should get out a little bit more to see the facts for himself. "There is absolutely no evidence that the kids of gay parents suffer in the way they are being brought up or in how they develop.’ However, this denial fails in the face the the Regernus study which has been vil...
