LGBT extremist want to force Christians into submission - or jail

Image
Aaron and Melissa Klein are devout Christians who owned a small family bakery in Oregon when in 2013 a same-sex couple sought them out to bake a custom-designed cake for their 'wedding' ceremony. Because they believe in the biblical basis for marriage as the union of one man and one woman, the Kleins respectfully declined to devote their artistic talents to a ceremony that violates their religious beliefs . In an all-too-familiar series of events that followed, the lesbian couple took their hurt feelings to the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries and filed a complaint for "discrimination." What has happened since then is an object lesson in intolerance, bias, and - if we're being honest - serious questions about potential collusion in Oregon's judicial system. Despite his bias and extensive support for one of the chief accusers of the Kleins, the judge did not remove himself from the case. Instead, he not only rejected the Kleins right to uphold their...

First it was the Ten Commandments, then same-sex marriage. Alabama chief justice in hot water again

Image
For the second time in 13 years, Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore , the jurist who urged probate judges across the state not to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, stood trial Wednesday on charges of violating the canons of judicial ethics. If found guilty, he could be removed from the bench for the second time. Satan would smile! Shortly after sunrise, scores of evangelical Christians bowed their heads in prayer and pledged allegiance to the U.S. flag on the steps of the Alabama Judicial Building before a special ethics panel assembled for the one-day trial. Many stood and applauded as Moore strode into the courtroom he had presided over for years, beaming confidently and wearing a dark business suit rather than his traditional judicial robe. On the witness stand, Moore, a fervent 69-year-old Baptist who was dubbed the “Ayatollah of Alabama” by one civil rights group, called the scrutiny of his ethical conduct “ridiculous.” Satan smiled. “I would not defy a federal cou...

Georgia passes bill to protect pastors from forced participation in gay ‘marriages’

Clergy in the state of Georgia are one step closer to reinforced conscience protection after legislation passed by the Georgia House Thursday. House Bill 757 , also known as the Pastor Protection Act, protects religious officials from being forced to imitate marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples and was approved in a 161-0 vote, moving on now to the Georgia Senate . "Religious officials shall not be required to perform marriage ceremonies, perform rites, or administer sacraments in violation of their legal right to free exercise of religion ," the bill states. It also says refusal by an ordained person shall not result in a civil claim or cause of action against him, nor result in any state action of retribution toward him based on the refusal. The legislation protects churches from being forced to involve themselves in same-sex ceremonies as well and is considered the least controversial among numerous religious liberty bills currently under consideration in...

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) CANBERRA - Gay activists in Australia have launched  a furious campaign  to convince Australian opposition leader Bill Shorten to pull out of speaking at the Australian Christian Lobby 's national conference this weekend, and to pressure the hotel hosting the event to cancel. While gay activists had previously achieved notable success in convincing politicians to  withdraw from the World Congress of Families  event in Melbourne in August, this case has a twist, in that Shorten himself personally supports gay “marriage,” and is so far refusing to back down.  A spokesman for the Australian Christian Lobby, which is a leading force in the country against redefining marriage, told LifeSiteNews that organizers of the ...

Georgetown Univ. celebrates ‘LGBTQ History Month’ with ‘OUTober’

Georgetown University ’s LGBTQ Resource Center and GU Pride are currently holding “OUTober,” an ongoing event celebrating “LGBTQ History Month,” according to  The Hoya . This year’s OUTober featured a “coming out day” and a lecture from a transgender activist. According to the  campaign description , this year’s theme for OUTober is “OUT FOR.” The description states that the theme “echoes Georgetown’s Jesuit values, highlighting the commitment and responsibility of Georgetown students as ‘men and women for others.’”  However, the event description makes no mention of Catholic teaching on human sexuality . The  Catechism of the Catholic Church  states that men and women with homosexual tendencies must be treated with “respect, compassion, and sensitivity,” but that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered” and that “[h]omosexual persons are called to chastity.” Also, a  Vatican statement  entitled “Considerations Regarding Proposals to Gi...
