Don't arrest street preachers who say homosexuality is a sin, police told

The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police is being asked to take steps to ensure officers do not arrest street preachers who call homosexuality a sin. The appeal from Christian Legal Centre (CLC) follows the arrest this month of Tony Miano in Wimbledon after police received a complaint of homophobia from a member of the public who reportedly told him to "f*** off". In its letter to the police chief, CLC said guidance need...

Boston cops must defer to transgender crooks

New BPD rules say police must use the name anyone who is arrested prefers, “even if the individual has not received legal recognition of the adopted name.” Policemen must also “respectfully ask the individual” when they are “uncertain about which pronouns are appropriate.” All friskings will be performed by two members of the sex the transsexual chooses, if at all possible. Officer Javier Pagan, the Boston Police Department’s liaison to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, said their policies are similar to rules in effect in W...
