Utah TV station refuses to air homosexual-themed ‘The New Normal’
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah , August 27, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - A Salt Lake City TV station which is owned by the Mormon Church has decided against airing “The New Normal,” NBC ’s new homosexual-themed sitcom. A statement from KSL-TV ‘s parent company, Bonneville International , cited offensive characterizations, crude dialogue and explicit content as the underlying reasons for rejecting the TV show . The show is produced and directed by openly homosexual Ryan Murphy, who also produced “The Playboy Club ,” “ American Horror Story ,” “Glee,” and “Nip/Tuck.” “After viewing the pilot episode of ‘The New Normal,’ we have made the decision to keep it off our fall schedule,” said Jeff Simpson, CEO of Bonneville International, according to Deseret News. “For our brand, this program simply feels inappropriate on several dimensions, especially during family viewing time.” Last year KSL-TV rejected NBC’s, “The Playboy Club,” about the original Playboy Club in Chi...
