Transgenderism is having ‘corrosive impact’ on society: UK think tank

Image
Transgender ideology is a recent invention that is having a “corrosive impact” on society, a British think tank has affirmed.  Civitas, the Institute for the Study of Civil Society, published in June a monograph by researcher Joanna Williams, its director of freedom, democracy, and victimhood, titled “The Corrosive Impact of Transgender Ideology.” “This report explores the social impact of changed understandings of gender and, in particular, the emergence of the idea of transgender,” Williams wrote.   “A new orthodoxy that gender identity is brain-based and innate, something we need to discover for ourselves and then reveal to a readily accepting world, has rapidly gained ground,” she continued.   “This seemingly benign view has consequences for how we socialise children and organise society. It calls into question sex-protected rights and freedom of association. The existence of female-only prisons and refuges or girls’ schools, clubs and sports is...

God is not transgender

Image
In what has to be a new low for the  New York Times , the Gray Lady (or should we now say the Bearded Lady?) has published an op-ed piece titled “ Is God Transgender? ” by a New York rabbi named Mark Sameth. Cousin to a man who “transitioned to a woman” in the 1970s, Sameth contends that “the Hebrew Bible, when reading in its original language, offers a highly elastic view of gender.” He marshals many purported examples of gender fluidity in the Hebrew scriptures, in order to argue that religion should not be put in service of “social prejudices” against transgendering. But his treatment of the Bible amounts to propaganda, not scholarship. Proposing that the God of Israel was worshipped originally as “a dual-gendered deity,” the rabbi asserts, untenable, that the etymological derivation of Yahweh is “He/She” (HUHI). His argument requires that the Tetragrammaton be read, not from right to left (as Hebrew always is), but from left to right: The four-Hebrew-letter name of Go...

House Republicans object to LGBT provisions of new NAFTA trade deal

Image
Among the accomplishments President Donald Trump is most proud of is renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. But a group of GOP lawmakers voiced concerns over the ramifications of language about LGBT “discrimination.” At issue is Chapter 23 of the deal, under which all three countries agree to “implement policies that protect workers against employment discrimination on the basis of,” among other things, “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.” “We recognize your tireless efforts to protect the American worker and the American economy,” 38 Republican members of Congress wrote in a November 16 letter to the president. “We are, however, deeply concerned by the unprecedented inclusion” of “sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) language for the first time in a Free Trade Agreement.” “A trade agreement is no place for the adoption of social policy,” the signatories declared, warning that the elevating SOGI cl...

California anti-family ‘stay gay’ bill dismissed

Image
Absolutely everyone said that Bill AB 2943 bill was impossible to stop in the California Legislature. It was the crown jewel of the powerful LGBT lobby. Democrats supported it and Republicans were afraid to touch it. But MassResistance organized statewide and stopped it! Bill AB 2943 would have banned all therapy or counseling for sexual orientation or “gender identity” issues, even promotion or descriptions of it. Legal groups said this would include Bible verses. The bill flew through the State Assembly last spring. On August 16 it breezed through the Senate. But because the Senate added an amendment, it had to go through another Assembly vote. That seemed like a slam dunk. There were then only 14 more days in the legislative session ending August 31 – little time to organize in the 80-member Assembly. Major pro-family groups in California were so sure it would pass that they told their supporters to start calling the Governor’s office to get him to veto it. But MassResistance sai...

16 states ask Supreme Court to reverse addition of gender confusion to ‘sex discrimination’

Image
The governors and attorneys general of 16 states are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a lower court’s judgment this year that gender-confused individuals are covered by the Civil Rights Act. The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in March that Title VII of the 1964 law, which was passed to end racial segregation and hiring discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, ethnicity, or national origin, also extends to employees who wish to “identify” as the opposite of their biological sex. The case was sparked by a Detroit funeral home that fired a male employee who wanted to present himself as a woman while on duty, in defiance of the home’s dress code. “Discrimination on the basis of transgender and transitioning status is necessarily discrimination on the basis of sex,” Judge Karen Nelson Moore ruled. On August 23, the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, ...

Canadian man legally changes gender to save $1,000 on car insurance

Image
An anonymous car shopper in Alberta known only as “David” isn’t transgendered, but pretending to be helped him save a lot of money on his car insurance. Earlier this month CBC News spoke with David , who explained how he came up with the idea while shopping for a new Chevrolet Cruze. His insurance company told him it would come with a premium of about $4,500 per year due to previous tickets and a collision. If he was a woman, he learned, that cost would only be $3,400. "I was pretty angry about that. And I didn't feel like getting screwed over any more," said David, who was 23 at the time. "So I asked them to change my gender on my auto policy, and she's like, we can't do that." So David told his doctor “I’d like to identify as a woman.” The doctor wrote him a note confirming his decision, which he then submitted to Alberta’s provincial government (which has since made it even easier to legally change genders). A few weeks later, it sent him a new, fe...

Panel slams Bill c-16 Trudeau’s ‘gender identity’ law as ‘false and unscientific’ on its 1st anniversary

Image
Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government opened the door to “state-sponsored child abuse” by enshrining the “false and unscientific” gender ideology into law in Bill C-16. That message came loud and clear from panelists who blasted the bill on its first anniversary, and gender theory in general, at a discussion in Toronto July 18 . “Let me get this out of the way: gender is binary and not a social construct,” sex neuroscientist Dr. Debra Soh told the crowd of 725 at Canada’s Christian College to a burst of applause. “Children should not be used as pawns to further this agenda.” Journalist Barbara Kay, lawyer Jared Brown, free speech advocate Lindsay Shepherd and organizer Sarina Singh likewise decried Bill C-16, which added “gender identity and expression” to Canada’s Human Rights Code and it's Criminal Code hate crime section. The Liberals passed the law last June over warnings from now famous Toronto psychologist Jordan Peterson it would lead to compelled speech. One year later, g...

California lawmakers are criminalizing any Christian response to same-sex attraction

Image
There was an interview with a gay rights activist, who highlighted the claims of those who oppose gay "marriage" that religious liberty would be restricted, that parental rights would be under threat, and that LGBT material would be added to school curriculums.  Gay Activist: These people are lying, and they know they're lying. This is utterly false , the activist assured the interviewer with righteous indignation. Every single thing opponents of same-sex "marriage" warned about has taken place . Of course, LGBT activists have moved on and forgotten their convenient deceits. For most of them, this was the plan all along. California has been on the cutting edge of legislating the sexual revolution for some time, but nothing has been quite as terrifying as the passage of Bill 2943 through the California State Assembly last week. I don't want to appear as if I'm simply fear-mongering, so after wading through quite a bit of analysis on this l...

GLADD doesn't want movies where LGBT die

Image
Recent film and TV seasons have sadly seen an overwhelming overrepresentation of  lesbians and queer women. Suddenly they are everywhere! But GLADD is very upset because many lesbians end up  dying on screen, from  Atomic Blonde  to  Cloud Atlas .  GLADD objects! Stop killing homosexuals make them heroes!  GLAAD stated in a 2016 report , killing off these characters is just not fair. They should be depicted as normal, healthy leaders, prosperous, friendly - all opposites of what their sinful lifestyle in reality is.  Currently, we see homosexual men kiss or hug on screen, but many will walk out of theatres when they show gay sex scenes. Movie directors recognize very clearly when something is being shoved down viewers throats.  As the  GLADD  report noted,  "Over 25 lesbian and bisexual female-identifying characters have died on scripted broadcast and cable television and streaming series since the ...

Judge lectures assault victim to use attacker’s fake pronoun

Image
An English judge told an assault victim to use her attacker’s preferred gender pronoun , the latest development in the ongoing collision between feminist and transgender activists . Maria Maclachlan, 61, is a self-described Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist (TERF), part of a faction that believes men who identify as female should not be recognized as women. The UK Telegraph reports that she was among the speakers for a TERF event in London ’s Hyde Park last September. The event was meant to discuss potential changes to the UK’s 2004 Gender Recognition Act. MacLachlan says that while filming a group of counter-protestors chanting "When TERFs attack, we strike back,” 26-year-old trans activist “Tara” Wolf punched her, knocking her to the ground . During MacLachlan's testimony this week before the Hendon Magistrate’s Court, District Judge Kenneth Grant chided her for not referring to Wolf, a biological male, with female pronouns. "The defendant wished to be referr...

When Harry Became Sally

Image
With the release of When Harry Became Sally , he has produced another timely, thoughtful, and important book that weighs into one of the most divisive and pressing issues of our day. Anderson is careful to make a distinction between activists who are pushing a transgender ideology on the nation, and individuals who experience gender dysphoria . He expresses genuine concern and compassion for people—and especially children—who have gender dysphoria. He rightly recognizes that most people with gender dysphoria are not activists, but simply trying to find meaning and happiness in life, like all people. And yet, Anderson is uncompromising in his critique of transgender ideology. In fact, he wrote the book because he couldn’t shake the painful stories he heard of people who had detransitioned from have a transgender identity back to their natural sex. He wanted to give them a voice and to prevent more people from suffering in the same way. Transgender Ideology How does transgen...

When abuse destroys identity: Billy’s story of ‘transition’ regret

Image
Billy B.'s story is not exceptional or unique. Childhood sexual abuse is an experience common to many of those who write me with regret about changing genders. Stories like his have filled my email inbox for the last ten years. That's precisely why I asked him if I could share it. Billy remembers, as a young child, being curious about the differences between boys and girls, between him and his sister. In the first grade, as he looked around his classroom, he wondered where he belonged: with the boys or with the girls? Billy says his body told him he belonged with the boys, but his thoughts were telling him he belonged with the girls. Billy says the question arose for him because he had been dressing up as a girl at home, putting on his sister's makeup and earrings out of curiosity. This can be benign behavior that children grow out of, but in some situations, it can evolve into an escape into a fantasy world. Billy was a small skinny boy with a speech impediment . He w...
