The Salvation Army a ‘Hate’ Group? Preposterous!

Image
To think of the Salvation Army — which does so much good work for people of every race, creed, color, sexual orientation, whatever — as somehow anti-gay is preposterous. How is the Salvation Army a Hate Group? A few weeks ago a singer from England initially refused to participate in a half-time show at a football game in Texas because it was to benefit the Salvation Army. Singer Ellie Goulding, who later relented, said, “I am a committed philanthropist as you probably know, and my heart has always been in helping the homeless, but supporting an anti-LGBTQ charity is clearly not something I would ever intentionally do.” By what criterion is the Salvation Army an anti-gay hate group? Because they do not let practicing, unrepentant homosexuals become leaders? Should GLAAD or other radical LGBTQ groups be forced, against their will, to have as leaders those who oppose their lifestyle? This politically correct culture has lost any semblance of moral clarity to label a group ...

Mexico conference on overcoming same-sex attractions takes place in new venue

MEXICO CITY , February 14, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A Mexico conference that was cancelled last week for offering therapy to people with unwanted same-sex attraction was held this past Wednesday in a different venue. The conference, initially titled “How to love correctly,” by self-described ex-homosexual Richard Cohen was to take place in a Catholic school in the city of Monterrey, Mexico . It was cancelled because, according to Cohen, “the parents and students of the Labastida School were repeatedly harassed by gay and lesbian activists when coming in and out of the school.” “The school was traumatized by the constant harassment so they had to cancel my conference,” he said to a local newspaper. The Mexican Center for Psycho-traumatism, which organized the event, decided to host the conference in the Palestinian-Lebanese Club instead, not far from the original venue and with the new title of “Understanding, learning and loving.” Local media report a turnout of o...

MEXICO CITY , February 7, 2014 – A conference by a self-described ex-homosexual who offers therapy for people with unwanted same-sex attraction has been cancelled by its venue due to harassment and pressure from pro-homosexual groups. In an email to the Mexican newspaper El Norte, Richard Cohen, who organized the “How to Love Correctly” conference, wrote: “This is an evident denial of our human right of free speech and free expression.” He said that he “won’t allow for a few who fear my message to stop others who seek to find hope,” and added that if he didn’t find another place for his conference he will “stand in the street and give my talk.” The conference, sponsored by the Mexican Center for Psycho-traumatism, was to be held on February 12 in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon , in Mexico, at the Labastida School, a Catholic institution run by the Daughters of Mary Immaculate of Guadalupe. The event’s organizers have offered to reimburse ticket holders. In the email to El N...

January 11, 2011 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - A campaign waged by homosexuals in Spain to suppress a book about reparative therapy for homosexuality has backfired, generating media coverage that has drawn new attention to the formerly ignored work. As a result, the publisher says that it has been overwhelmed by requests for the book and is now in the process of printing 7,000 more copies. “Understanding and Healing Homosexuality,” which has been available since 2004 in Spanish , became the object of protest in Spain in December when the book was republished by Libros Libres and the new edition appeared in the catalogs of such online booksellers as Amazon, La Casa del Libro (the House of Books), and La Corte Inglés (The English Court). The book, written by therapist Richard Cohen , discusses Cohen’s own liberation from homosexual attraction, what he regards as the principal causes of the problem, and methods for bringing about the healing of same-sex desires. The appearance of the new ed...
