Vatican Slams Door Shut On Gay Unions

Image
The Catholic Church has made an official stance on gay marriage, confirming that it “will not bless gay unions”. In a statement Monday, the church has confirmed that it does not support same-sex marriage, saying it “cannot bless sin”. It cannot bless a fake marriage or homosexual marriage. This was the church’s stance in response to the question, “Does the Church have the power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex?” In a written statement, the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, says no. Citing Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation, Amoris Laetitia, writes: “There are absolutely no grounds for considering homosexual unions to be in any way similar or even remotely analogous to God’s plan for marriage and family.” Senior Rome Correspondent for Catholic News Agency, Hannah Brockhaus, explained in the video below why the Vatican decided to clarify this now and whether people who have homosexual inclinations can receive a blessing from a priest.    Acc...

The Pope dismisses the Bible on the sin of homosexuality

Image
In a new film that will premier in North America Sunday but premiered in Rome today, Pope Francis has made his most clear   statements contradicting Catholic Church teaching   by calling for homosexual civil unions to be legalized. Speaking of homosexual civil unions, he said, “What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered. I stood up for that.”  One does not have to be a theologian or a moral expert to know that such statements are totally heterodox and constitute a very serious cause of scandal for the faithful.' Archbishop Vigano has replied with an extensive analysis of the situation . In addition, U.S. bishops Joseph Strickland and Thomas Tobin have commented. It is not the first time Pope Francis has contravened Church teaching in the matter of homosexuality, but it is one of his clearest statements contravening established Church teaching. In 2003, in a document by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI) and approved and ...

Toronto Catholic teacher unions go all in on homosexuality

Image
The elementary and high school Catholic teachers in Toronto have been sent an email from their union leaders inviting them to "Come Celebrate Toronto Pride ". The message encourages teachers to walk in solidarity with their union representatives on June 25, 2018. They are being invited to support sin. Will the Catholic union be marching in solidarity for the Kemptville chaplain who lost his position because he chose to defend Catholic teaching? We don't think so. Chaplaincy leaders are supposed to defend and teach the Catholic faith. But these are times of political correctness. Will the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA) come to support the chaplain in the same way they are prepared to stand for sexual diversity and equity education event? We doubt this too. Where is the bishop responsible for the school's religious curriculum? OECTA stopped being a Catholic union years ago . The fact that Dave Szollosy a counselor for the Toronto Secondary Unit...

Australian law bans speech vilifying opponents in gay ‘marriage’ debate

Image
Australian parliament is expected to pass a temporary law this week making it illegal to “vilify” or “intimidate” supporters and opponents of same-sex “marriage” as the country braces for a non-binding postal vote on the issue. The bill applies to content produced by the “yes” and “no” campaigns.   “It includes measures to prevent vilification, intimidation, or threats to cause harm on the basis of the sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status or the religious convictions of someone during the survey period,” the Australian Broadcasting Corporation  reported . The measure will "safeguard against hate speech." “I have no fear whatsoever with regard to any of the comments that I have made on the public record,”  said Lyle Shelton of the Australian Christian Lobby , which is urging people to vote “no.” “I will always stand up and criticize public policy which requires a child to miss out on their mother and father, not through tragedy or desertion bu...

Tennessee county lawsuit: SCOTUS gay ‘marriage’ ruling invalid

Image
A former state senator in Tennessee is challenging the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS)'s gay marriage declaration. Former State Senator David Fowler and Bradley County Commissioner Howard Thompson have filed a lawsuit to stop the county from issuing marriage licenses in light of the Supreme Court's ruling last year that Tennessee's marriage law was invalid. They hope the lawsuit will go all the way to the Supreme Court itself and result in the overturning of the   Obergefell v. Hodges   case. Fowler, who filed a similar lawsuit in Franklin last month, works with the Constitutional Government Defense Fund, an arm of the Family Action Council of Tennessee, an affiliate of the Family Research Center. He says the SCOTUS marriage decision invalidated state marriage laws that acknowledge the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman, which Tennessee's marriage law specifically does; therefore, Tennessee has no valid marriage laws and cannot i...

Hundreds of thousands rally in Rome against gay ‘civil unions’ and adoption as vote nears

Image
As the Italian Parliament prepares to vote on “civil unions” for homosexuals , a crowd of hundreds of thousands of people rallied in Rome’s Circus Maximus and adjacent streets on January 30 to protest in favor of the family and the rights of children. The gargantuan protest, dubbed “Family Day,” was organized by the Committee to Defend Our Children , and aimed to thwart an attempt by the ruling Democratic Party and its allies to grant legal recognition to homosexual unions and to allow homosexuals to adopt their “stepchildren” – that is, the children of their sex partners. The protestors expressed their concern that such a measure would enable homosexuals to contract with egg donors and surrogates to “synthesize” children who will never know their mothers and who lack any right to a natural family. “The uterus is not a furnace in which a manufactured product is made!” said Massimo Gandolfini, the main spokesman for the march, to the assembled crowd. Calling the proposed...
