North Carolina governor attends LGBT gala hosted by registered sex offender

Image
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (center, in blue tie) at gala hosted by registered sex offender Chad Sevearance-Turner (to Cooper's right, in purple shirt and tie) North Carolina Democrat Governor Roy Cooper attended a fundraiser hosted by a transgender rights activist who is a registered sex offender last month. As Charlotte LGBT Chamber of Commerce (CLGBTCC) president, Chad Sevearance-Turner led the campaign for transgender bathroom usage in North Carolina enabling biological men to occupy private spaces once used exclusively by women and girls. The ensuing battle over the legislative measure – known as HB2 – took the national spotlight as major corporations, celebrities, and even sports leagues weighed in on the issue. In 2016, when it was revealed that Turner had been convicted of sexually abusing boys and sentenced to 10 years in prison , he stepped down from his role as president but was quietly reinstated months later. Cooper and CLGBTCC are longtime allies. While still ...

California bans travel to states that protect Christians who oppose gay ‘marriage’

Image
The state of California has ordered a travel ban for its government employees to states that have adopted laws to protect religious freedom. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra , a pro-abortion Democrat, has  unilaterally prohibited all state-sanctioned trips  to Alabama , Kentucky, South Dakota , and Texas because those states have passed legislation allowing those who uphold natural marriage and biological gender to live by their sincerely-held beliefs. Becerra’s actions are designed to pressure target states to abandon religious freedom laws protecting Christians who oppose sodomy and/or disagree with gender theory.   The latest four additions bring California’s “No Visiting List” to eight states in the lower 48, or eight percent of the country. Becerra noted his reasons for adding the four states: Alabama enacted a law in May that allows Christian adoption agencies to follow their faith’s moral criteria for placing children in homes. Their ...

Tennessee just passed a new law meant to undermine immoral LGBTQ activities

Image
Words in state law must be interpreted as having “natural and ordinary meaning” under a bill passed by the Tennessee Senate on Thursday. Critics call it a biblical way of encouraging state judges to deny immoral homosexual activities to gay couples and transgender people. LGBT groups lamented the 23-6 vote and immediately began prodding Republican Gov. Bill Haslam for a veto, but his spokeswoman Jennifer Donnals said he is “deferred to the will of the legislature.” The House approved the same legislation last month. Sarah Kate Ellis , president and wing nut of the immoral LGBT rights group GLAAD , which manipulates movies and media to put as much gay sex on the screen, said the bill would be bad for business and “set a dangerous precedent that could place the well-being of LGBTQ Tennesseans in jeopardy.” Bad for Business ! Really? What a joke argument! The legislation has been pushed by the Family Action Council of Tennessee, which advocates for one-man, one-woman marriage. Th...

North Carolina bill: Supreme Court overstepped Constitution and God in legalizing gay ‘marriage’

Image
North Carolina lawmakers are attempting to nullify the Supreme Court's Obergefell decision on same-sex "marriage." Four statehouse legislators have proposed House Bill 780, the  Uphold Historical Marriage Act , that would restore the state's constitutional ban on homosexual "marriage" and make gay “marriages” illegal. HB-780 explicitly  says  the U.S. Supreme Court "overstepped its constitutional bounds" in the Obergefell decision and the High Court's ruling is “ null and void  in the State of North Carolina .” The bill  states  that “the State of North Carolina shall henceforth uphold and enforce Section 6 of Article XIV of the North Carolina Constitution." That section was amended in 2012 to  explicitly say  "Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State." North Carolina voters approved the 2012 pro-marriage amendment  61 percent  to 39 pe...

Arkansas Supreme Court considers striking down local LGBT law

Image
No to zealots from Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) immoral community Arkansas Supreme Court justices questioned Thursday whether a city’s ordinance banning discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity flies in the face of a 2015 state law that was intended to prevent local LGBT protections. An attorney for the state asked the court during oral arguments to strike down the anti-discrimination ordinance Fayetteville voters approved, saying it clearly violates the law from a few months earlier that intended to ban such ordinances. Fayetteville is among a handful of cities that approved varying protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in response to the state law. The 2015 law prevents cities and counties from approving anti-discrimination ordinances on a basis not contained in state law. Arkansas’ civil rights law does not include sexual orientation or gender identity, but a judge who upheld Fayetteville’s measure noted they’r...

Roy Cooper wants men in women's change rooms?

Image
Not long ago, North Carolina's governor, Pat McCrory , signed an important common-sense law stopping men from gaining access to intimate facilities like restrooms and showers that are reserved for girls and women. We strongly applaud Governor McCrory‘s leadership, but the left has gone crazy — targeting him for defeat with hateful, orchestrated attacks. Governor McCrory's opponent, state Attorney General Roy Cooper , has come out in favor of allowing men into women's restrooms, and he's raising millions from LGBT extremists. What Roy Cooper isn't telling voters is that he's siding with convicted sex offenders like Chad Sevearance-Turner who helped lead the campaign in Charlotte to open female restrooms and showers to men like him. We've got to stop Roy Cooper and those that are backing his dangerous bathroom policy. That's why NOM has co-sponsored this powerful new TV ad with our friends and allies at the NC Values Coalition. Please watch it now...

When a culture rebels against God

Image
English: State seal of North Carolina (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The legal problem with that move was that the state constitution of North Carolina requires all “public accommodation” laws to be handled at the state level. In other words, what Charlotte did was not within their authority, so the governor and the state legislature responded by passing HB 2 on March 23, which “mandates people use the bathroom corresponding to their biological sex in public buildings, places, and schools.” Simply put, everything was fine – Charlotte enacted a law they had no authority to enact, and the state of North Carolina put everything back like it was. For this simple common sense law, the state of North Carolina has become the whipping boy for the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender political machine and their many powerful supporters in big business, academia, the liberal media, and the entertainment industry. No single group of people holds more power in America today than the...

Michigan Board of Education opens bathrooms, showers to ‘transgender’ students

Image
Michigan ’s Democrat-controlled State Board of Education approved guidelines last week saying “transgender” students should have access in the state’s public schools to the bathrooms and locker rooms of the opposite sex. And while the guidelines provide for any student desiring privacy to have access to single-user or gender-neutral facilities, they include a strong reminder that “current interpretation of federal civil rights laws protect the right of transgender students to use the bathroom of their gender identity if they so choose.” The guidelines, which are voluntary, were approved 6-2 by the Board on Wednesday after a three-hour public comment period, MLive reported, and more than 13,000 comments on the guidance made on the Michigan Department of Education website since February. They call for school policies protecting LGBT students from harassment and for schools to assign a staff member to provide students with LGBT-related information or support, as well as LGB...

Christian could be fired for refusing to watch LGBT ‘inclusivity’ video

Image
A Christian 's 14-year career is being threatened because he refused to watch a training video on lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, transgender, and queer "diversity and inclusivity." In April, the Social Security Administration announced all employees must be trained in LGBTQ "diversity and inclusively." Longtime information technology employee David Hall, whose Christian convictions do not consider sodomy healthy or normal or good for people, believed that the “training” was against his sincerely held beliefs. Specifically, Hall, 42, was told by his superiors to view a 17-minute video that includes "tips for increasing cultural awareness in a diverse and inclusive environment." Hall refused, explaining that the training endorses sinful behavior. "I'm not going to certify sin," he   explained   to WCIA-TV . Because he refused to participate in the LGBTQ agenda training, Hall was officially reprimanded and then suspended with...

NCAA pulls 7 championship events from North Carolina over bathroom bill

Image
The state of North Carolina is losing more athletic events as a result of its gender-specific bathroom law. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced Monday night that it will pull seven championship games out of the state, including the first and second rounds of NCAA men’s Division I basketball tournament. The "Road to the Final Four" games were scheduled to be played in Greensboro. The NCAA governing board also announced it was   pulling college soccer, golf, tennis, lacrosse and baseball   events out of North Carolina.  North Carolina Republican Party spokeswoman Kami Mueller responded with incredulity. "This is so absurd it's almost comical," she said, mocking the idea of merging men's and women's teams together as a unisex team.  "This decision is an assault to female athletes across the nation. ... Under the NCAA's logic, colleges should make cheerleaders and football players share bathrooms, showers and ...

The Future of Social Conservatives Is on the Line in North Carolina

Image
Religious liberty hangs in the balance in Governor Pat McCrory’s bid for reelection. The future of religious liberty for traditional religious believers hangs on what happens to North Carolina governor Pat McCrory’s bid for re-election this November, and he is down six points in the latest CNN poll.  The Atlanta Constitution Journal just acknowledged as much in a story on the decision to hold more public debates on the need for laws to protect the conscience rights of gay-marriage dissenters in Georgia (where Republican governor Nathan Deal vetoed such legislation in 2015): The re-introduction of ‘religious liberty’ legislation may be a given, but its prospects could largely depend on what happens in North Carolina on Election Day. Shortly before Deal’s veto, Gov.  P at McCrory of North Carolina signed into law a measure that barred transgender individuals from using public restrooms associated with their present identity rather than their birth gender. McCrory is ...
