As Olympics begin, immoral Canadians fly rainbow flags to protest Russian ban on homosexual propaganda

CANADA, February 7, 2014  – As the Winter Olympics in Sochi begin, a number of cities across Canada have decided to protest Russia’s recent ban on homosexual propaganda by flying rainbow flags . The cities include Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, and St. John’s. Edmonton has plans to fly the rainbow flag as well, according to a  tweet  from Mayor Don Iveson, and the Quebec government will fly one outside Montreal’s Olympic Stadium . Quebec bishops slam court decision forcing private school to teach ‘neutral’ religion/morality class

MONTREAL, Quebec , January 10, 2013, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Quebec’s Catholic bishops have taken issue with a court decision that would force a Montreal private Catholic high school to cease teaching its Catholic course on religion and morality and switch to the “secular” and “neutral” Ethics and Religious Culture course (ERC) provided by the province’s government. “For our part, we believe that the minister could have used [ministerial] discretion to recognize the value of the approach adopted by Loyola High School in its program,” stated Archbishop Pierre-André Fournier, president of the Quebec Catholic Bishops ’ Assembly (AECQ) in a December 21  press release . Quebec court forces Catholic school to teach 'neutral' course on religion and morality

MONTREAL, December 7, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Quebec ’s Court of Appeal has ruled that a private Catholic high school in Montreal must cease teaching a Catholic course on religion and morality and switch to the “secular” and “neutral” Ethics and Religious Culture (ERC) course provided by the province’s government. The judges  ruled  on Tuesday that “exposing students to the global study of religions in a neutral perspective without requiring them to adhere to it, is not an infringement of freedom of religion”. Government-funded ‘registry of homophobic acts’ launched today in Quebec

Research at Montreal ’s Concordia University has shown that fathers who actively engage in raising their children make important contributions to their children’s cognitive abilities and behavioral functioning. The study carried out by Erin Pougnet, a PhD candidate in the Concordia University Department of Psychology , and associates, used data from the Concordia Longitudinal Risk Project, an intergenerational longitudinal data set collected in inner city areas of Montreal. “This topic is particularly relevant in Québec , a demographically and culturally unique province in which female lone parenthood is relatively common,” Pougnet explains in the preface to the report.
