UK Prime Minister: ‘Redefining marriage is one of my proudest moments’

Image
British Prime Minister David Cameron told a town hall meeting near Liverpool on the weekend that making same-sex "marriage" legal in Britain and Wales was one of his "proudest" accomplishments. When asked what he thought were his most significant achievements, he rated improving the UK economy as something he would "treasure," but that passage of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill was his personally proudest moment. “I did get a lot of letters from men who said, because of the changes you made, I have been able to marry the person I love. That was great,” Cameron said, according to a report by homosexual news service Pink News . He said that he has gotten "lots" of invitations to same-sex weddings but has yet to accept any. "I haven’t been to one yet," he said, adding, "I’m sure I will soon.” While Cameron has been unequivocal in his support for homosexualism, his stand has not been without consequence for his polit...

UK’s right-leaning party doubles down on opposition to gay ‘marriage’ after appearing to backtrack

Image
LONDON , March 19, 2014  – The leader of the UK ’s right-leaning party denied making comments attributed to him in an article by a homosexualist news agency in which he allegedly said his party would not campaign to overturn same-sex “marriage” in the general election next year. According to  PinkNews , Nigel Farage , head of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) , also said his party would remove the legal status of Christian weddings, requiring believers to attend both a religious and civil ceremony. UKIP leader Nigel Farage But in a statement posted to  UKIP’s website  Wednesday, Farage denies making the remarks. “The statement attributed to me yesterday was not made by me and not approved by me. It was a draft by a staff member that should never have been sent out,” he explained. UK House of Commons votes for immoral homosexuality against God Biblical prohibitions

Image
WESTMINSTER, May 23, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – “Saddening and damaging to the reputation of Parliament,” was what the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children called the 366 to 161 House of Commons vote on the government’s “gay marriage” bill last night. SPUC director John Smeaton added, “This result was no surprize as the bill has the support of all three main parties in the House of Commons. It is good to note that substantial opposition to it has been maintained.” SPUC is asking concerned voters to contact their MPs either to thank them for opposing the plan or to “point out that the bill negates the main reason for having laws in support marriage – for the benefit and welfare of children.” “It was a vote of ‘no confidence’ by MPs in real marriage – the foundation for stable family life and the safe, happy upbringing of children,” Smeaton added. The Coalition for Marriage, consisting of the Christian Institute, Care, Christian Concern for Our Nation , the Evan...

Cameron splits his party & country over immoral homosexual marriage

Image
A bill to legalise  gay marriage in Britain  has passed the country's parliament and will now go the country's upper house, the  House of Lords , for consideration. MPs voted 366 to 161 in favour of the bill. The vote followed a marathon debate on Monday in which  Mr Cameron  was forced to make a deal with the opposition  Labour party  to defeat a bid by his own Conservative MPs to scupper the bill. Cameron has effectively divided his own party and for what benefit: immorality! Right-wing Tories had proposed an amendment to allow heterosexual couples to form civil partnerships - a move that was condemned by Mr Cameron's office as a "wrecking amendment" that would have delayed the introduction of the new law. Although the motion was easily defeated with Labour's help, the depth of the  Conservatives'  divisions were made clear when 121  Tory MPs  backed a separate plan to allow officials to opt out of carrying out gay marr...

UKIP set to cause ‘political earthquake’ as governing Conservatives flounder on Immoral Homosexuality

Image
In Britain , local council elections are seen as a window into the political future, and last week’s surge by Nigel Farage ’s United Kingdom Independence Party has the ruling Conservative Party deeply worried.  UKIP has been attracting former Tories - both voters and MPs - disillusioned with Prime Minister David Cameron ’s “modernizing” efforts that have included a bill for “gay marriage” and broken promises on a European referendum.  Nigel Farage Nigel Farage is said to be “jubilant” after Friday’s poll results that saw UKIP electing 147 councillors, of whom 139 were gains. He called it a sign of a “sea change” in British politics and declared that UKIP is now the “official opposition.” This was literally true in Lincolnshire, where UKIP totally replaced the Conservatives in 16 seats. By comparison, Labour, the official Official Opposition party, said it was doing “reasonably” having won 35 local seats. Despite Tory accusations that UKIP is nothing more...

Homosexual immoral ‘marriage’ bill will dissolve the glue holding society together: former Archbishop of Canterbury

Image
LONDON , April 2, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Gay “marriage” has little to do with “equality,” being in reality the result of “an aggressive secularist and relativist” mindset that intends to abolish the very foundations of western societies, according to George Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury. The result, he said, will be the “alienation of a large minority of people who only a few years ago would have been considered pillars of society.” Lord Carey said in an  op-ed in the Daily Mail  over the Easter weekend that it is “a bit rich” to hear Prime Minister David Cameron call upon Christians to “stand up and oppose aggressive secularisation” when it is he who is doing the most to push that agenda forward. Carey cited a ComRes poll that found more than two-thirds of Christians in Britain believe they are becoming a “persecuted minority”. Former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey While such beliefs may be premature, he said, “the Prime Minister has don...

UK Parliament overwhelmingly passes gay ‘marriage’ bill

Image
WESTMINSTER, February 5, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – At about 7 pm. London time tonight, 400 Members of Parliament voted in favor of a law re-defining marriage in Britain, with 175 MPs voting ‘no.’ The bill now goes to committee for further scrutiny. The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children , one of the leaders in the fight to defend marriage,  that the fight is not over, and that those involved in the fight for marriage are continuing to rally support at the grassroots.  SPUC commended the pro-family MPs who opposed the bill, who came largely from the government’s own backbench MPs. In today’s 6-hour debate, Tory MP Roger Gale summed up the position of those opposed to the change, saying it had nothing to do with “equality” but with the objective reality of marriage. “It is not possible to redefine marriage,” Gale said. “Marriage is the union between a man and a woman, has been historically, remains so. It is Alice in Wonderland territory, Orwellia...

Lawsuits against churches ‘inevitable’ with gay ‘marriage’ law: UK Independence Party

Image
LONDON, December 10, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – If churches are forced by new legislation or by civil suits to conduct homosexual “marriage” ceremonies against their beliefs, it would constitute “a piece of tyranny by which the rights of hundreds of thousands, millions even, of people of faith … will be ruthlessly trampled upon,” said the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP). The Cameron government has announced that same-sex “marriage” legislation will be introduced next week. David Cameron 's government has announced that gay "marriage" legislation will be introduced next week. But in a statement issued November 15th, UKIP warned that the writing is on the wall for churches if the government introduces legislation creating gay “marriage.”  It is “inevitable that gay couples will seek the right to marry in Church and that Churches will refuse to permit them to do so,” said UKIP. Despite the government’s assurances, “there will, very soon after the int...
