House votes to block same-sex ‘weddings’ on military bases

Image via Wikipedia As the military prepares for the repeal of the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy to go into effect, the House of Representatives passed an amendment last Friday prohibiting same sex “weddings” from taking place on military bases. On the same day the Pentagon issued an order initiating the repeal of Don’t Ask, according to a  Los Angeles Times report .  The armed services were ordered to begin admitting service members “without regard to sexual orientation.” The House amendment, introduced by Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp , also blocks funds for training chaplains on implementation of the new policy. It was added to the 2012 Department of Defense authorization bill by a vote of 236 – 184. Huelskamp was one of 63 members of the House who signed a letter to Navy Secretary Ray Mabus after the Office of the Chief of Navy Chaplains announced that same-sex “weddings” would be permitted in naval chapels located in states where same-sex “marriage” is legal.  “...

Federal court over rules Congress and says military must end ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ now

Image via Wikipedia A federal appeals court has lifted the stay on a judge’s order that requires the U.S. military to end enforcement immediately of the ban on homosexuals serving in the armed forces. A three-judge panel of the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday said that the concerns which prompted them to issue a stay of a federal judge’s order on DADT back in November no longer remain. The court’s ruling allows the worldwide order of U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips to go into effect.  Phillips’ ruling, issued in October 2010, made illegal the U.S. enforcement of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and 10 U.S.C. § 654, the 1993 law banning homosexuals from military service. Congress later repealed the ban and the policy (both together referred to as DADT), but specified that the ban would be dropped only 60 days after the Pentagon had certified that the armed forces were prepared to integrate open homosexuals into the ranks. Trouble with Don't Ask Don't Tell repeal

Image
Image via Wikipedia President Obama's repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is already  damaging the U.S. military . An Army lieutenant colonel has asked to be relieved of command rather than order his troops to go through pro-homosexual indoctrination following the repeal of the policy, which required homosexuals to keep silent about their sexual preference. Currently the commander of a battalion-sized unit in the Army National Guard , the officer also has threatened to resign his commission rather than undergo "behavior modification" training intended to counter his religious convictions about homosexuality.  Discover what's causing modern America to disintegrate. Don't Ask Don't Tell

Image via Wikipedia The Pentagon's poll on "don't ask, don't tell" is beyond idiotic. Instead of asking whether the troops support repeal of DADT , the Pentagon asked only if they can learn to play nice with the gays . Even more absurdly, the Pentagon polled all military "personnel" -- and their spouses! Only a small portion of what is known as "the military" actually does the fighting . The rest is a vast bureaucracy along the lines of the DMV. Today's military features "victim advocates" and sensitivity training facilitators, the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services personnel and a million other goo-goo positions. How did we ever take the shores of Normandy without a phalanx of "sensitivity training" counselors? No one has any need to be reassured that the military's " social action " staff will enjoy working with gays. Whatever a career in "social action" entails, it bett...
