Malaysian and Indonesian Muslim groups are calling for a Starbucks boycott

Image
Supporters of homosexuality prohibited by Muslim and Christians Muslim groups in Malaysia and Indonesia have called for a boycott of Starbucks because of the coffee chain's support for immoral homosexual self proclaimed -  LGBT rights . Malaysian group Perkasa , which supports a hard-line form of Islam and nationalism, this week called on its more than 500,000 members to stay away from Starbucks coffee shops. This week and last, leaders of Indonesia's second largest mainstream Muslim group, Muhammadiyah , with an estimated 29 million members, denounced the chain. The groups were apparently reacting to comments made several years ago by former CEO Howard Schultz in support of self-proclaimed homosexual rights that drew renewed attention amid an increasingly pro-family and anti- LGBT climate in both of the predominantly Muslim countries . Perkasa said in a statement that the Malaysian government should revoke the trading license given to Starbucks and other companies su...

Homosexual laws could get tougher in Indonesia

Image
Indonesia’s Constitutional Court is considering a petition from conservative Muslim and Christian groups to apply the existing law against homosexual acts between adults and minors to sexual activity between adults. The Alliance for Family Love has asked to court to conduct the judicial review, with the ultimate goal to make all homosexual acts illegal while extending the law against heterosexual rape to include homosexual attacks. “We see the moral degradation that is happening,” said Rita Hendrawaty Soebagio, chairwoman of the alliance. “This is purely because of our love for our nation; we must do something while we have a chance. Australia is going down a very evil immoral road with same sex marriage, we do not want this nor do we support this.” The court has heard experts testify about the health hazards posed by homosexual activity but also is expected to hear rebuttal from human rights advocates. Some Indonesian local governments already criminalize homosexual acts...

Muslim bakers don’t want to make your gay ‘wedding’ cake, either; where are the protests? (video)

Image
DEARBORN, MI , April 7, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Homosexual activists have painted Christian bakers, florists, and photographers as veritable hatemongers for refusing to participate in a same-sex “wedding” on religious grounds – but it is not only Christianity that teaches that homosexuality is immoral. In a new video, Steven Crowder discovered numerous Muslim bakeries refused to bake a cake for a homosexual “marriage” – and Crowder is calling homosexuals out for not being equally aggressive toward the Religion of Peace . Last week, Crowder posted an undercover  video  in which he visited several Muslim-owned bakeries in the Islamic hotspot of Dearborn, Michigan, posing as a man who planned to “wed” his boyfriend and wanted a cake made to honor their homosexual relationship. While a few bakeries were willing to create the gay “wedding” cake, “many of them were not,” Crowder reported. In the video, Muslim bakery employees can clearly be seen and heard refusi...

Image
May 30, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Lady Gaga has announced that she is canceling her planned concert for early June in Jakarta, Indonesia , due to security concerns raised by widespread protests against her sexualized performances and disrespectful use of religious imagery. “We had to cancel the concert in Indonesia ,” Gaga tweeted to her fans. “I’m so very sorry to the fans & just as devastated as you if not more,” she wrote. “You are everything to me.” “I will try to put together something special for you. My love for Indonesia has only grown,” Gaga added. In another tweet, she attributed her rejection to “hate” from the Indonesians opposing her presence. “It’s unfortunate,” said Minola Sebayang, a lawyer for the company promoting the show, “but with threats if the concert goes ahead, Lady Gaga’s side is calling it off. This is not only about Lady Gaga’s security, but extends to those who will be watching her.” The concert garnered broad opposition from Muslim g...

Indonesians fight to stop ‘blasphemous’ Lady Gaga ‘Born this Way’ concert

Image
Hitmixes (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) As Indonesian Muslim groups fight to stop a “Lady Gaga” concert in their country, the singer claims she is in negotiation with authorities to permit the event under certain restrictions. Islamic organizations have been fighting against the singer’s scheduled appearance in Jakarta , which is slated for June 3, for several weeks, on the grounds that her risqué, religion-mocking performances are “blasphemous” and toxic to the morality of young people. “Lady Gaga is considered an icon for liberal culture and Indonesia ’s freedom is not without limits,” Asrorun Niam, an official of the Muslim National Ulema Council (MUI), told the French Press Agency. “There are restrictions related to norms, morals and religion.” “We reject the Lady Gaga concert on a number of considerations, including cultural liberalization, which degrades the morality of the younger generation,” said Muhammad Rahmad Kurnia, Chairman of the Muslim group Hizbut Tahrir...

Barack Obama had a transgendered nanny in Indonesia

Image
Image via Wikipedia AKARTA, INDONESIA, March 7, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – As a young child in Indonesia , Barack Obama ’s nanny was a transgender “woman” who walked around his home in female clothing and let the future president see him trying on lipstick.  In 1969, “Evie” – who was born a man with the name Turdi – worked as a cook when  he met Obama’s mother , Stanley Ann Dunham . (Turdi/Evie, like many Indonesians, goes only by one name.) Dunham had moved to the nation’s capital of Jakarta to live with her second husband, Lolo Soetoro . For two years, Turdi watched “Barry”, as Obama was called, and his younger half-sister,  Maya Soetoro , at their home in Jakarta’s Menteng neighborhood. Turdi was well-known in the area. The  New York Times   described  the nanny as “an openly gay man who, in keeping with Indonesia’s relaxed attitudes toward homosexuality, carried on an affair with a local butcher.” Turdi later danced in the streets as part of a group ...
