LGBT target People of faith via Government

Image
I can't think of another time where people of faith have been under such assault by LGBT extremists.  Consider: The US House of Representatives has passed legislation that would make acting in support of traditional marriage illegal under federal law. That same legislation attempts to strip Americans of their religious liberty rights to live out their beliefs at work and at home. Two Democrat presidential candidates have declared that churches that refuse to endorse same-sex 'marriage' should lose their tax exemption and be targeted by the government for punishment. An agency of the federal government, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, has taken it upon itself to attempt to single-handedly rewrite federal law to impose a dangerous gender ideology that claims that a person can change their gender and the entirety of society must accept, accommodate and agree with it. They've sued employers that have refused to allow men dressed as women to serve cu...

Australia: Response to Kristina Keneally on homosexual marriage plebiscite and Churches

Image
Kristina Keneally. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) When it comes to the same-sex marriage plebiscite the Christian churches are making a mistake of biblical proportions. Before the 2 July election many Christian churches urged their voters to support a plebiscite by voting for the Coalition .  There is no way of knowing if this statement is true. Many Christian voters may have chosen to vote for independents and not the Coalition because Turnbull was promoting homosexual marriage as compared to Abbott who was againt it. There is no evidence for this comment. But it is true many, abandoned Turnbull. Sydney Catholic Archbishop Anthony Fisher didn’t tell his parishioners how to vote, but he did write that “we could all benefit from the kind of national conversation a plebiscite should occasion”. Fisher and I don’t agree on how marriage should be defined, but there was a time I largely agreed with him on that sentiment. But I’ve changed my mind. Keneally is wel...

Homosexual Plebiscite will cause or promote teen suicide?

Image
Here are the rules for the gay marriage debate according to Greens leader Richard Di Natale: shut up and agree with the Greens or you are culpable for gay suicide. Shelve the plebiscite because, as he says , “we’ll see young people take their lives on the back of a hateful and divisive debate in the community”. Has there ever been a more shameful example of political blackmail? Not only shameful but also insulting to Australians who should be free to speak their mind on marriage without being demonised as “haters” with blood on their hands. Not only insulting but also reckless: there is a dangerous power of suggestion when politicians tell LGBT youth they are victims of society’s homophobia and deserve to be suicidal. Melinda Selmys warned of this danger, reflecting on her lesbian youth: “I am exceedingly wary of attempts to put the onus for gay suicide on “heterosexist” culture. It is not in the interest of any teenager - gay, straight, transsexual, or non-sexually identifying – ...

The fight for Godly marriage continues

Image
To hear some commentators talk, America ’s struggle over the meaning of marriage is already over, and conservatives have lost. Like latter-day Edgar Allan Poes, they are busily preparing a premature burial for marriage as a male-female union. Conservatives should imitate Poe’s protagonist and refuse to cooperate with this ghoulish enterprise, showing their opponents that they and their cause are very much alive. Recent suggestions of surrender are noteworthy because they go beyond the now-familiar claims from the left about the “inevitability” of nationally approved same-sex marriage , claims that were always intended as a substitute for actual argument about the proper understanding of marriage. Now, even some voices on the right are speaking of American conservatism ’s coming defeat and surrender on the question of marriage. Calls for capitulation are premature, however, for reasons of both principle and politics. A Matter of Principle As a matter of principle, the Amer...

Is opposing same-sex marriage is bigotry?

Image
Same Sex Marriage (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Opposition to same-sex marriage is not based on bigotry but on good reason. Consider murder, rape, and incest. Our laws rightly discriminate against those behaviors because those behaviors are harmful. Imagine murderers , rapists , or the incestuous calling us “bigots” for enacting those laws. Such laws are the antithesis of bigotry. Bigotry involves pre-judging something for no good reason, but laws against murder, rape, and incest are based on good reason and evidence. Namely, we reasonably conclude that the health and welfare of the public are higher values than allowing individuals to do whatever they want. The same holds true with preserving marriage. The health and welfare of the public are higher values than allowing individuals to marry whomever they want. We don’t discriminate in favor of natural marriage and against same-sex marriage out of bigotry or bias, but because we are sensible human beings who draw on thousands o...

The future of marriage once gays get their way

Image
Dr Jagose believes that no relationship deserves special privileges and that almost any “alternative intimacies” are valid: “Unmarried mothers, for instance; adulterers; the devotedly promiscuous; sex workers; the divorced; the bigamous and polygamous; those who are not strangers to the august traditions of the dirty weekend or the one-night stand; single people.” It’s hard to find a clearer confirmation of the worst fears of  opponents of same-sex marriage  than Dr Jagose’s memo to Australian gays and lesbians. Homosexuals and the Bible Truth

Image
The homosexuals and lesbians have gained considerable political and social momentum in America .  They have "come out" as the term goes, left their closets, and are knocking on the doors of your homes.  Through TV , radio, newspapers, and magazines, they are preaching their doctrine of tolerance, equality, justice, and love.  They do not want to be perceived as abnormal or dangerous.  They want acceptance and they want you to welcome them with open, loving arms, approving of what they do. In numerous states several bills have been introduced by the pro-homosexual politicians to ensure that the practice of homosexuality is a right protected by law.  Included in these bills are statements affecting employers, renters, and schools.  Churches could possibly be required to hire a quota of homosexuals, and "sensitivity" training courses would be "strongly urged" in various work places.  There is even legislation that would force the state to ...
