California law forces Meals on Wheels to ask elderly recipients if they’re gay or trans

Image
Meals on Wheels programs around the world help feed elderly people and others physically incapable of obtaining or preparing their own meals, but California recipients have started receiving something less welcome with their service: grilling about their sexual attraction and “gender identity.” On Tuesday, the Sacramento Bee highlighted the experience of Carol Alexander, an 83-year-old recipient who was taken aback by a recent phone call from Sacramento County’s Meals on Wheels program, asking questions including “What is your sex,” “Do you still associate with your gender,” and “Are you heterosexual?” “I was in shock. I took offense to that,” said Alexander. “I’m ticked off. Why do they ask an 83-year-old this?” The questions were mandated by the state’s LGBT Disparities Reduction Act, signed by Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown, which took effect in July. The law requires meal-delivery services to present sexual and gender minorities (SGM) survey questions to recipients, in order to conduc...

Censorship: California Senate passes bill banning books, therapy to help unwanted gay attraction

Image
The California Senate voted Thursday to approve the nation’s broadest proposed ban on treatment for overcoming unwanted same-sex attractions. The vote on Assembly Bill 2943 was 25-11, the  Washington Blade  reports . The bill forbids minors and adults alike from obtaining “sexual orientation change efforts,” regardless of their wishes. By classifying what leftists pejoratively call “conversion therapy” (also known as reparative therapy) under prohibited “goods,” critics say it would go so far as to ban the sale of books endorsing the practice, as well as other forms of constitutionally-protected speech. The Assembly  voted  50-14 to pass AB 2943 in April, but its Senate vote was delayed until after the summer recess following a deluge of phone calls from disapproving constituents and a fierce public backlash from churches and other religious groups. Bill sponsor and Democratic Assemblyman Evan Low reportedly considered amending it into a more palatable...

Gay brainwashing for California Schools

Image
Image via Wikipedia A bill devised by a homosexual California lawmaker, Mark Leno , requiring schools to promote homosexuality and other alternative sexual lifestyles to children without parental permission or even knowledge has been approved by the legislature and is on its way to Gov. Jerry Brown . "May this brash attack upon children's innocence finally motivate parents to remove their children from the government school system, and get them into the safe havens of church schooling and homeschooling," said Randy Thomasson, president of  SaveCalifornia.com,  a leading statewide pro-family organization promoting moral virtues for the common good. Thomasson outlined how the new law effectively will require textbooks and instructional materials to positively promote "lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans" as role models.  It also will provide for teaching children as young as 6 years old to admire homosexuality, same-sex "marriages,...

California petition drive to repeal transgender ‘bathroom’ bill just misses goal

Image
SACRAMENTO , February 25, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A California petition drive seeking to put the state’s controversial new ‘choose your own gender’ law on the ballot for possible repeal by voters has failed after the secretary of state determined the referendum’s organizers did not get enough valid signatures to force a public vote. The petition needed 504,760 signatures in order to force a referendum.  Organizers with Privacy for All Students collected over 600,000, but the state threw out 131,857, claiming they were invalid.  The remaining 487,484 signatures fell just 17,276 short of the required goal. But supporters of the referendum say they’re not giving up that easily.  Privacy for All Students co-chairs Gina Gleason and Karen England vowed to insist on a careful review of the rejected signatures, especially in San Diego and San Bernardino Counties, where county officials each threw out 14,000 and 13,000 signatures, respectively.  “I don’t be...

Ministry study shows effectiveness of counselling in reducing homosexuality

Image
According to the survey, which was released Friday, 55 percent of those who sought out this kind of counselling experienced SSA with less intensity and frequency than before they received help. Additionally, 71 percent of those surveyed said they were either "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the counselling they received. "Hundreds of people are telling us their counselling worked, they benefited significantly, it helped them feel better about themselves -- and in some cases it even saved their lives," said Rich Wyler , founder and director of People Can Change, in a statement. "Their voices have been largely silenced or ignored by pro-gay activists and mainstream media in favour of a more politically correct view, but the experience of these men and women is real. It is valid. They can tell you from firsthand experience that counselling to reduce homosexuality can be effective, even life-saving. Their voluntary choice to pursue change deserves ...

Impeach officials who issue gay ‘marriage’ licenses, refuse to defend marriage laws,: PA lawmaker

Image
HARRISONBURG, PA, August 2, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane has followed the lead of Barack Obama and Jerry Brown by refusing to uphold the state's law protecting marriage between one man and one woman. At least one legislator thinks it is time she paid for violating her oath of office. Daryl Metcalfe State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-Butler, has said Kane's actions merit impeachment, because they spread “lawlessness.” “I think breaking the law is worthy of impeachment,” Metcalfe told local media. “Her duty is to defend the law. Shortly after her announcement, Montgomery County Register of Wills D. Bruce Hanes began issuing marriage licenses to homosexuals, despite the fact that state law forbids such unions. As of Friday afternoon, Hanes had issued  62 marriage licenses  to homosexual couples, and 13 of their recipients have completed wedding ceremonies. “By her example, this Montgomery County official felt emboldened to v...

Pro-homosexual marriage advocates pick and choose laws they support!

Image
English: Anthony Kennedy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Ever since the US Supreme Court invalidated the federal definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman, we've expected lawsuits would be filed in federal court challenging state laws that also define marriage in the traditional way. Our expectations have certainly been met; over a dozen such lawsuits have now been filed. What saddens me most about these lawsuits is that some of our elected officials entrusted with defending the laws of the land have chosen to abandon their oaths of office and state law on marriage. In fact, the Attorneys General of both Illinois and Pennsylvania have declared that they will not defend marriage in federal court. They are following the disgraceful path of Attorney General Eric Holder , who refused to defend our federal definition of marriage, and Jerry Brown in California, whose refusal to defend Proposition 8 led...

California Supreme Court denies petition to stop distribution of gay ‘marriage’ licenses

Image
SACRAMENTO, CA , July 24, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The California Supreme Court has denied a clerk's petition that he not be forced to issue same-sex “marriage” licenses until a court clarify whether it is legal for him to do so. San Diego County Clerk Ernest Dronenburg, who issues marriage licenses for a living, filed suit to seek “legal clarification” that he was acting according to legal norms. Ernest Dronenburg asked the court to guide him, without success Governor Jerry Brown and Attorney General Kamala Harris ordered the state to begin issuing marriage licenses to homosexual couples who request them following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that the  state's voters lacked standing to defend Proposition 8 , the constitutional amendment voters approved defining marriage as the union of a man and a woman. However, the Supreme Court did not rule on the constitutionality of Proposition 8 itself.  Article III, Section 3.5 of the California Constitutio...

Clerk sues to block order forcing him to issue marriage certificates to same-sex couples

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA , July 22, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews ) – A San Diego County clerk has asked the California Supreme Court to strike down a directive issued by Governor Jerry Brown and Attorney General Kamala Harris ordering clerks statewide to issue marriage certificates to same-sex couples in violation of Proposition 8 , California ’s voter-approved ban on homosexual “marriage.” San Diego County Clerk Ernest Dronenburg’s lawyers told the high court their client is “caught in the crossfire of a legal struggle over the definition of marriage.” “On the one hand, respondents have ordered him not to enforce state law and are threatening to punish him if he does not comply with that order,” Dronenburg's lawyers wrote in the lawsuit. “On the other hand, petitioner has an independent statutory obligation to enforce California law defining marriage as a union of a man and a woman.” California county clerk Ernest Dronenburg They asked the court to grant an immediate stay to pr...
