Religious Freedom amendments introduced in NSW Australia

Image
Today the Rev the Hon Fred Nile , for the Christian Democrat Party, introduced a Bill to add “ religious beliefs or religious activities” into NSW legislation as a prohibited ground of discrimination. The proposed  Anti-Discrimination Amendment (Religious Freedoms) Bill  2018 will add new Parts 3B and 5A into the  Anti-Discrimination Act  1977 (NSW) (“ADA”), making it unlawful in various areas to discriminate on the grounds of religion, or to subject religious bodies to a detriment. The proposals will also make it unlawful to penalise someone for holding views on marriage as the union of a man or a woman, or for holding the view that there are only two genders. The CDP is a minority Party in the NSW Parliament, and the Bill is a Private Member’s Bill , so it is not clear whether it will be fully debated, let alone enacted. But it is an interesting and worthwhile proposal which may lead to clarity in the future on the need for changes to the law of NS...

Pro-gay chaplain rescinds resignation after being booted by Paul Ryan

Image
Father Patrick Conroy , a pro-gay Jesuit priest serving as chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives , has rescinded his resignation a week after outgoing Speaker of the House Rep. Paul Ryan, R-WI , requested it. Last week, Conroy stepped down after Ryan, a Catholic, allegedly told him he would be dismissed unless he left voluntarily. However, in a letter to Ryan dated May 3, Conroy retracted that resignation “upon advice of counsel.” The letter accuses Ryan of not giving him a reason for his firing, but claims Ryan chief of staff Jonathon Burks “mentioned dismissively something like, 'maybe it's time that we had a Chaplain that wasn't a Catholic,’” as well as mentioning a House prayer and interview some criticized as overly political. Conroy has previously said Ryan told him, “you just got to stay out of politics." House Republicans say that Ryan assured them the prayer wasn’t a factor, but rather that some had approached him with concern “that their past...

U.S. CONFERENCE OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS BACKS RELIGIOUS FREEDOM BILL

Image
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has given its backing to a common sense bill that LGBT zealots warn could be used to stop immoral homosexual couples adopting kids and ultimately shaping those children into advocates for the sin of homosexuality. A group of 22 Republican senators, led by Mike Lee of Utah and including senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz , reintroduced the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) in early March. The proposed law, which was first presented in 2015, protects individuals and institutions from punishment if they act on the belief that marriage should be between one man and one woman. On the campaign trail in 2016, Donald Trump stated that he would sign a version of the bill. The bill states that the Federal Government “shall not take any discriminatory action against a person, wholly or partially on the basis that such person speaks, or acts, in accordance with a sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction that marri...

Good legislation to protect from LGBT zealots

Image
Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee and 21 other Republicans introduced a bill on Thursday that would protect people and companies that object to immoral homosexual -  same-sex marriage . The bill, called the First Amendment Defense Act , says the federal government cannot change the tax status or deny federal funding to groups who correctly object to homosexual couples, based on their religious beliefs. The bill says that the federal government “shall not take any discriminatory action against a person, wholly or partially, on the basis that such person speaks, or acts, in accordance with a sincerely held religious belief , or moral conviction, that marriage is or should be recognized as a union of one man and one woman; or two individuals as recognized under federal law; or sexual relations outside marriage are improper.” The bill was first introduced back in 2015 , but was never put to a vote. Other Republicans who have signed onto the bill include Sens . Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) ...

Top U.S. conservative event CPAC has been hijacked by LGBT activists

Image
I attended my first  Conservative Political Action Conference  ( CPAC ) nearly a decade ago, while still living as a gay man.     I had recently undergone a ‘political awakening’ and, as a participant in the Tea Party movement from its inception, had recently co-founded  National Capital Tea Party Patriots  in Washington, DC.   At the time, I was dating a guy whose cousin was one of the Republican Party ’s famous three “ Young Guns ” — Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan — who were rising in leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives . I felt like that added to my conservative  bona fides .  Soon after walking through the door to CPAC at DC’s venerable Wardman Park Hotel, something unexpected happened:  My ‘gadar’ — that mysterious internal instrument that informs gay guys that they are in the presence of other gays — began buzzing off the charts.  The needle shot to the upper reaches of the red zone and re...

Gay activists and GOP nomination Pennsylvania

Image
Scott Wagner is running for the GOP governor nomination in Pennsylvania . He poses as a “Trump” conservative. On some issues, maybe. But he cares nothing for the religious freedom of Christians . How do we know that ? Scott Wagner has personally sponsored a new Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity bill. And he voted against including protection for religious freedom in it. Scott Wagner is one of the emerging group of “pro-gay rights” Republicans. If Wagner wins the nomination in Pennsylvania, expect Republicans to start voting for anti- religious liberty bills en masse. Unless social conservatives flood the Pennsylvania governor ’s race with new energy and new money, the battle for religious liberty is lost. Dunkirk for American Christians? Yes. I mean that, improbable as it sounds. We have one more shot to change the religious oppression unfolding before our eyes. And it’s in Pennsylvania in 2018. Before you write me off as crazy, let me explain. The situation is bad for ...

Homosexual Candidate Running Against a Man Who Denounced Homosexual Marriage

Image
Joan Greene, a small business owner and candidate for Arizona’s 5th Congressional District , has stated why she, among some 600 other women nationwide, decided to run for office for the first time.  The Republican lawmaker named Andy Biggs , has said homosexual marriage "is an affront to the millions of Americans who believe marriage is between a man and a woman. That is why she is running against Andy Biggs. A Democrat , Greene is endorsed by Run with Pride as an LGBT candidate with immoral values which are falesly called 'progressive values." She then makes her greatest error in saying: she has a desire to make the American Dream available to everyone.  Yet she wants to increase the broken immoral homosexual lifestyle choices people are making - the self harm, fast breakups, and bullying and divisive tactics and the silent gay health issues. She is supporting the LGBTQI agenda which places people in moral, relationship and faith danger.  Yet, this ...

Military transgenderism push threatens to undermine the U.S. Constitution

Image
In an underreported and startling turn of events, the power of the Commander-in-chief — the President of the United States – is quietly being eroded, ceded to unelected members of the judiciary.   In August, President Trump issued a directive to halt the recruitment of transgender individuals by the U.S. military. The President’s orders have been met with stiff opposition within and outside the government bureaucracy. Individuals and groups have filed lawsuits in federal courts aiming to overturn Trump’s suspension of Obama-era guidelines welcoming transgenders into the military. In each case, judges have ruled against the administration’s effort to temporarily keep gender-dysphoric individuals from the ranks of the military. Six national security leaders have written to President Trump, advising him to take a strong stand against judicial usurpation of his powers as Commander-in-chief granted by the U.S. Constitution, Article III . They urged him to seek a stay of the l...

Politician tells teen raised by lesbians she has a right to a father: liberals furious

Image
A local Republican politician is taking flak for telling a teenager being raised by lesbians that she has a right to a father. Prince William County Brentsville Supervisor Jeanine Lawson spoke of 15-year-old Rose BruMar’s natural right to a father when the teen told her she’s being raised by “two moms.” Lawson  confirmed to local media  that she said “every child deserves a mother and father” after Rose approached her outside Gainesville Middle School on election day. According to Lawson’s account, she and the teen had a “pleasant and civil” conversation. The teen told her, “One of my moms doesn’t like you.” “That caught me by surprise a bit,” Lawson said. “She told me things about her family life, and I told her in a very polite way, I said I believe children deserve a mother and a father. It was not a debate about anything.” One of Rose’s adoptive “moms,” Evelyn BruMar, is a Democratic activist who said Lawson’s comment “meant to hurt my daughter and d...
