Is Sexual Orientation Immutable? The Science May Surprise You.

Image
One of the most common and effective claims for LGBT rights is that people are born with an immutable, permanent sexual orientation. In our recent dialogue on the Bible and Homosexuality , Matthew Vines argued that the 20th century discovery of sexual orientation is akin to Galileo’s discovery of the telescope. For the first 1,600 years of the church, according to Vines, virtually all Christians believed the earth stood at the center of the universe. But Galileo’s discovery led Christians to reconsider their interpretation. Similarly, the modern discovery of sexual orientation should lead Christians to reinterpret Scriptural prohibitions of same-sex sexual relationships. The idea that sexual orientation is immutable has been proclaimed so frequently, and so loudly, few people have slowed down to ask a simple question: What does the science actually reveal? The answer might surprise you. Science and Sexual Orientation Leading scholars have challenged the “immutability” claim. Bu...

Christian governor-candidate takes heat for ad highlighting GOP governor’s pro-LGBT record

Image
An Illinois legislator seeking to beat the pro-abortion Republican governor in his party’s primary released an ad highlighting his radical pro-abortion and pro-transgender beliefs, igniting fury from national media, leftists, and establishment Republicans. Gov. Bruce Rauner , a liberal Republican, signed a law in 2017  expanding forced taxpayer funding of abortion . Rauner supports transgender bathrooms, is squishy on LGBT issues, and supports liberal immigration policies. So Jeanne Ives , who currently represents the state’s 42nd district, released an ad showing people “thanking” Rauner for what he’s done for them. “Thank you for signing legislation that lets me use the girls’ bathroom,” says a man wearing makeup and a dress. “Thank you for making all Illinois families pay for my abortions,” a woman wearing a pink “pussy hat” says. A young man with a bandana covering much of his face – a seeming representation of the “anti-fa” movement – “thanks” Rauner for making Il...

Transgender - it is not the person but the mental health issue prenting to be whole

Image
Here is an article - that missed the point regarding transgenderism . Thransgenderism is a mental health issue. It is a mental health situation that needs medical assistance and not promotion and protection by Government or scared politicians fearful of activists like Stonewall . People who listen to transgender activists then proceed with either physical and or medical changes place themselves in danger. The public is NOT the problem...the promises given by LGBT activists are the problems. This is the twisted article below - notice the word hate crime, discrimination, attack, harrass...these are the words of activism used in order to promote their sad cause.  .......................................................................................................... LGBT rights campaigners Stonewall has warned of "widespread" and "profound" discrimination and violence against transgender people in the UK . According to a YouGov survey commissioned by th...

International court orders 16 countries to ignore their laws and allow gay ‘marriage’

Image
In what one expert called the “most bold exercise in judicial tyranny imaginable,” an international human rights court has ordered that 16 countries ignore their own laws and recognize same-sex “marriage” and transgenderism. In one of these countries, Barbados , sodomy is illegal. The ruling came from the Inter-American Court of Human Rights , which exists based on the American Convention of Human Rights . Twenty-five Latin and South American countries have ratified or adhered to the Convention, according to the Court’s website. The Court heard the case because the Costa Rican government sought “ relatively minor” advice, Gualberto Garcia Jones, executive director of International Human Rights Group, told LifeSiteNews. “Costa Rican officials asked for clarification on what process [was] required to legally change the name of a gender confused person and the rights to property of homosexual partners under the Convention,” Jones explained. “Instead of answering the questi...

They banned homosexual conversion and logic!

Image
The Pima County Board of supervisors passed ordinance 2017-22 to ban therapy intended to change sexual orientation on Tuesday but instead banned logic itself. I was one of the public commenters but two minutes wasn’t enough. Had I more time, I would have pointed out the logic of this ordinance requires support for these 18 crazy things: 1) Any criticism against same sex attraction or gender identity should be illegal So far, media coverage suggests 2017-22 is about only abusive therapy treatments. It’s not. Claiming it limits abusive therapy is like saying tougher immigration laws limit murders by undocumented immigrants. Both of them may accomplish those things but they both do much more than the overblown rhetoric implies. This ordinance was touted as preventing “ conversion therapy ” but explicitly bans “any practice in which a person seeks to change another person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” You can’t even bring it up as an option. Don’t be fooled to think this...

Question: Why should Christians care if same-sex couples marry? If they are unbelievers, why should Christians dictate their actions? Shouldn't we just worry about preaching the gospel?

Image
Question: Why should Christians care if same-sex couples marry? If they are unbelievers, why should Christians dictate their actions? Shouldn't we just worry about preaching the gospel? This question is based upon the false premise that Scripture assigns the accountability to marriage to Christians alone rather than to society at large. Christian concern for marriage is deeply concerned with the moral risk taken by unbelievers when they marginalize, reject, subvert, or harm marriage in any way.  Christians believe this risk threatens acting parties with eternal consequences. Furthermore, it is quite selective and arbitrary to say that when it comes to same-sex marriage , Christians should not ask unbelievers to act like unbelievers. Why should that request be limited to same-sex marriage?  Should it be applied to other aspects of the criminal code?  Should Christians not expect non-Christians to live by the same civil laws they live by?  Should Chris...

Sydney’s Kambala School saves Purple Day from ‘rainbow’ hijacking

Image
One of Sydney ’s most exclusive girls’ schools has been forced to intervene after students attempted to hijack Wear it Purple Day on Friday and turn it into a “wear it rainbow’’ event to celebrate the gay, lesbian and transgender community. Parents with children at Kambala complained that material promoting a “rainbow’’ celebration had been posted around the Rose Bay institution overlooking Sydney Harbour. “The posters were not authorised by the school and have been taken down,’’ principal Shane Hogan said last night. He also dismissed claims there had been hundreds of posters. “We’re celebrating Purple Day like any other school … All schools are invited to do so and it’s to celebrate diversity, acceptance and respect,’’ Mr Hogan said. “The values being promoted are in line with the Christian ethos of the school in acceptance and respect of all people.’’ Angry parents had earlier expressed concerns that posters had been plastered around the Anglican school urging students to “...

Christians exposed to courts and fines by homosexual marriage

Image
Some Coalition MPs are warning that the redefinition of marriage will leave churches, schools, charities and individuals that defend traditional marriage exposed to legal challenges in the future. West Australian Liberal MP Andrew Hastie said yesterday that religious protections in Dean Smith's SSM bill were insufficient. “The Smith bill only offered protections to individuals involved in the conduct of weddings. It failed to grasp the far-reaching significance of redefining marriage," he said. Mr Hastie suggested discrimination laws across the country were skewed against those who continued to defend traditional marriage — individuals could be left legally exposed for simply speaking their minds while non-government schools could be forced to change their teachings if same-sex marriage was passed. “What about Australians who hold to the view of marriage as a union between a man and a woman based on empirical evidence, biology and historical precedence? This is how I’...

Dear Gay Community: Your Kids are hurting

Image
Heather Barwick was raised by her mother and her mother's same-sex partner . She is a former gay -marriage advocate turned children's rights activist. She is a wife and mother of four rambunctious kids. Gay community , I am your daughter. My mom raised me with her same-sex partner back in the ’80s and ’90s. She and my dad were married for a little while. She knew she was gay before they got married, but things were different back then. That’s how I got here. It was complicated as you can imagine. She left him when I was two or three because she wanted a chance to be happy with someone she really loved: a woman. I loved my mom’s partner, but another mom could never have replaced the father I lost My dad wasn’t a great guy, and after she left him he didn’t bother coming around anymore. Do you remember that book, “ Heather Has Two Mommies ”? That was my life. My mom, her partner, and I lived in a cozy little house in the ‘burbs of a very liberal and open-minded area. Her ...

Woman Raised by Lesbian Couple - I Ached Every Day For a Dad

Image
Heather Barwick, who was raised by her mother and her mother's lesbian partner, wrote in an essay this week that same-sex "marriage" is not the same as normal marriage between a man and a woman, that the traditional family is best, and that while growing up she "ached every day for a dad." Heather Barwick, who was raised by her mother and her mother's lesbian partner, says " gay marriage " not only redefines marriage but also parenting and that "as a little girl, I so desperately wanted a daddy." Barwick, who is 31 now, married, and has four children, said that "same-sex marriage and parenting withholds either a mother or father from a child while telling him or her that it doesn't matter. That it's all the same. But it's not." "A lot of us, a lot of your kids, are hurting," wrote Barwick in her essay for The Federalist website. "My father's absence created a huge hole in me, and I ached...

Christian organization fights LGBTI battle

Image
The Australian Christian Lobby is threatening to take the unprecedented step of campaigning against a Coalition government , warning Liberal MPs that it could direct members to support minor right-wing parties if a free vote on gay marriage is allowed in parliament. The warning from the powerful lobby to hold the line on a plebiscite will be issued today with a petition of 55,000 signatures presented to the Senate. The group will amplify pressure on Coalition MPs — already scorched by the Catholic education campaign against the government’s school-funding reforms — by forming an alliance with Australian Conservatives leader Cory Bernardi , who will seek to table an ACL petition. The ACL’s move to campaign against the Coalition would be a first for the organisation. ACL managing director Lyle Shelton told The Australian that more than 350,000 emails had been sent by Marriage Alliance and ACL supporters to Coalition MPs calling on the government to keep its promise. “ Same-s...

Homosexual Group appeal employment homosexual discrimination case to Supreme Court

Image
A homosexual legal group is appealing an employment case to the Supreme Court , the group announced Thursday, after a federal appeals court declined to rehear the case. A full panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals declined to rehear the case of Jameka Evans, a hospital security guard who says she was forced out because she is a lesbian.  She doesn’t conform to gender norms in her appearance and demeanor. Evans argues that her employer violated Title VII by discriminating against her because of her lesbianism, her dress code, her refusal to obey gender norms and her demeanor.  Earlier, in March, a three-judge panel of the court denied her claim . Lambda Legal , the homosexual legal advocacy group, is representing her in the case. Immoral homosexual groups who refuse "NO" from any judge want to push their agenda before the justices particularly if Justice Anthony Kennedy -- whose immoral and illogical support of all things homosexual -- is con...
