Protecting marriage isn’t enough – we must oppose gay ‘civil unions’ too

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Philippe Ariño, one of the original initiators of the French “Manif pour tous” rallies against the legalization of same-sex “marriage” in November 2012, is suggesting that opposition to the law and its probable developments needs to be coherent and complete if it hopes to be efficient. In a recent and widely-circulated  article  published on his blog, he writes that the objective must be to put an end to legalized “civil unions” as well. Ariño, a non-practicing homosexual , left the “Manif pour tous” by March 2013, criticizing the movement’s figurehead, Frigide Barjot, for her stands on “homosexual love” and her insistence that civil unions were not only acceptable, but should benefit from a more favorable legal framework. Barjot herself was to be ousted from the organization for the same reason, but the “Manif pour tous” s...

New France president’s first deeds: get ready for more secularism and gay ‘marriage’

Image
PARIS, France , May 18, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Dismantling of the family, attacks against parental rights and times of trouble for faith-based, mainly Catholic schools are looming large in French politics since France’s new socialist president, François Hollande , took over office from Nicolas Sarkozy on Tuesday morning at the Elysée, in Paris. French President François Hollande Government nominations, as well as Hollande’s inaugural speeches, are making it clear that ideological choices have been made and can be expected to be implemented in the near future. The discussion of a law instituting gay “marriage” has been announced for the Fall by the new Family minister – that is, if the French legislative elections in June vote in a socialist majority, which is considered likely. Hollande’s first public act after the official investiture ceremonies at the Elysée Palace in Paris, on Tuesday, was to drive over to the nearby Tuileries gardens to pay tribute to the found...

Pro-abortion, pro-homosexual ‘marriage’ socialist Francois Hollande wins French election

Image
May 7, 2012 - The socialist party leader François Hollande won the French presidential election on Sunday with 18,004,656 votes and 51.63% of the total. Outgoing president Nicolas Sarkozy , was more than 1,390,000 votes behind, with 48.37% of the total. More than 2 million voters – 5.8% – chose a blank ballot, a clear indication of many voters’ lack of confidence in both finalists, but also of the weight of conservative Front National leader Marine Le Pen ’s decision not to support Nicolas Sarkozy. As a result, Hollande’s commitment to legalize homosexual “marriage” and embryo research, as well as promises to increase public spending for contraception and abortion, are well on their way to being implemented. Francois Hollande Hollande’s first speech as president-elect on Sunday evening in the small French town of Tulle gave no indications as to his immediate program, apart from upholding “republican secularism.” It is understood, however, that his first efforts will concern educa...

February 9, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy , who has been under pressure from socialist opponents to weaken his stance on human life and family issues, says he is not budging. In a recent interview with the conservative magazine Le Figaro , Sarkozy reaffirmed his conservative stances on a variety of social and economic issues. In contrast to his principal opponent in the upcoming presidential elections, socialist François Hollande , Sarkozy told Le Figaro that he is “not favorable” to homosexual “marriage,” because it “opens the door to adoption.” French President Nicholas Sarkozy “In troubled times, when our society needs to keep its bearings, I don’t think that it is necessary to blur the image of this essential social institution that is marriage,” said Sarkozy. Although Sarkozy said that he supports strengthening certain legal rights for homosexuals, including inheritance rights, he opposes the creation of “civil unions” because the would “tend to h...

Image
Image via Wikipedia January 26, 2012 ( LifeSIteNews.com ) - The number of French parliamentarians that have added their names to a list of those opposing homosexual “ marriage ” and adoption has now reached 115, according to the French magazine Liberation. The petition was begun in response to a new initiative by French socialists, who are promising voters to institute homosexual “marriage” if they are chosen in the upcoming presidential elections. The parliamentarians in opposition come from the three political parties that make up the coalition supporting President Nicolas Sarkozy : the Union for a Popular Movement , the New Center , and the Movement for France . The declaration favors “the defense of the fundamental right of a child the be cared for and to develop within a family composed of a father and a mother.” Although the number of signatories to the declaration has increased from only 82 earlier this month, it has a long way to go to reach the same count that a similar de...

Archbishop of Paris denounces decline of life and family values in interview on new book

Image
Image via Wikipedia January 20, 2011 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Paris Archbishop Andre Vingt-Trois said that homosexual “marriage” is “a terrible service to render to society” in an interview on his new book criticizing modern social trends, “What society do we want?” ( Quelle societé volons-nous?”). Vingt-Trois has taken a more aggressive stand against the breakdown of public morals since receiving criticism for his defense of a play that desecrated an image of Jesus , produced in France in October. In December, he denounced a similar play and scheduled a prayer vigil in opposition. According to the French Press Agency ( AFP ), Vingt-Trois discussed attacks on the family, the manipulation of embryos, and homosexual marriage in a recent interview on the RTL radio network. Now the archbishop is speaking out against a variety of moral transgressions that are increasingly tolerated or even endorsed in modern society, as he discusses his new book. “ Young people today do not have even ...

The French left favor gay marriage

Image
January 17, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - As France moves towards the next presidential election a little more than three months away, a new poll indicates that a strong majority of French citizens now support a key element in the anti-family agenda of the French left : the creation of homosexual “marriage.” Although France was the first country in Europe to create civil union legislation for homosexuals, it has resisted pressure to open up the institution of marriage to same-sex couples, which would also allow them to adopt children.  In June of last year, the French National Assembly voted down a measure to do so. However, a new poll conducted by the publication Le Parisian indicates that 63% of French citizens now favor the creation of homosexual “marriage,” a figure five percent higher than that from a poll in the first half of 2011. French President Nicholas Sarkozy The same poll indicates that only 51% of people who consider themselves “right-wing” continue to oppose suc...

French say NO to gay marriage

Image
Image via Wikipedia French legislators rejected a bill to legalize “ homosexual marriage” today in a decisive vote by the National Assembly , the nation’s lower legislative house. Assembly representatives voted against the bill, proposed by socialists, by a majority of 293 to 222.  The vote follows a ruling in January by the nation’s highest court, the Constitutional Council , stating that homosexual “marriage” is not a constitutional right. Although a recent and much-cited poll found that a majority of French voters, 58 percent, favor the creation of homosexual “marriage,” Michel Difenbacher of the majority Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) party said he thought it not necessary “to go with the wind nor to cede to fashion” with regard to the issue. “We are against homophobia but we do not want to alter the image and function of marriage” within society, Difenbacher said. Christian Vanneste and Brigette Bareges, also of the UMP, were more blunt in their negative assessmen...

Confusing teens about their gender: the radical new French high school curriculum

Image
Image via Wikipedia As of next September, the new official French science curriculum will require all 11th grade students preparing the Baccalaureate – a majority of French teenagers – to study a number of themes more closely related to gender ideology and aggressive sex education than to nature studies. Two main headings, “Feminine- Masculine ” and “Taking charge of your sexual life together and responsibly,” make up about a third of the yearly curriculum for non-science students; they are also included in a wider program for science candidates. The program shamelessly promotes contraception, justifies abortion and defends homosexual activity . It also minimizes differences between men and women: “Anatomic and physiological differences, caused by the influence of sexual hormones, between the masculine and the feminine brain are no more important than differences between individuals of the same sex,” is one of the “concepts” 11th graders will be expected to have understood by the ti...
