Archbishop Morgan supports homosexual marriage - except Bible says no!

Image
Christians who support same-sex marriage are not “abandoning the Bible ” the Archbishop of Wales has insisted, as he told leading Anglicans that sex in a committed gay or lesbian relationship is perfectly “proper”. Dr Barry Morgan used his final address to the governing body of the Church in Wales , ahead of his retirement, to urge members to rethink traditional beliefs about homosexual relationships as being sinful. Even Biblical texts often cited as condemning homosexuality, such as the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone, could be “interpreted in more than one way”, he said.  The 'hospitality argument' is a well known liberal failed tactic written by Bailey and used by the Metropolitan Gay Churches.  Morgan should not be seeking to confuse and divert people away from the correct teaching of scripture. Dr Morgan, a prominent liberal figure in the church, is stepping down in early 2017 after 14 years as Archbishop, the longest serving primat...

Is it True that Jesus Never Addressed Homosexuality?

Image
A couple of months ago, I began responding to a couple of popular arguments for why some believe that homosexuality is reconcilable with Christianity. My hope was (and still is) that I might be able to serve those who are mistaken in this regard by helping them to see that faith in Jesus and His Word cannot be reconciled with attempts to legitimize homosexuality. I had addressed the semi-sarcastic objection that we as Christians are inconsistent in condemning homosexuality on the basis of the Levitical law, since we don’t also condemn eating shellfish and mixing fabrics . I also addressed the objection that in condemning homosexuality Christians are being unloving —getting caught up in the details while forgetting that our cardinal Christian virtue is love. If you haven’t read those, I hope you will. But today I want to address another popular argument for reconciling homosexuality with true Christianity. And that is the objection that Jesus Himself never said a word about homosexu...

Is Homosexuality a sin?

Image
Dispute of Jesus and the Pharisees over tribute money (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Homosexuality is an incredibly difficult subject for two opposing sides to discuss. It is one of the few biblical sins by which people deeply identify themselves. Whereas someone addicted to alcohol may admit they are "an alcoholic," the term is generally descriptive, not the primary identifier of the core of a person.  The belief of many that their sexuality defines them makes a biblical declaration of the sinfulness of homosexuality an attack on the individual, instead of the act and attitude. The topic is also difficult to broach because of the enemy's effective campaign to convince otherwise Bible-believing people that homosexuality is a particularly heinous, unforgiveable sin and those who partake are hated by God above all else. This is a lie, but an insidious, widely-held lie. With these difficulties humbly recognized, the issue still must be addressed. First a short word ...

Ron Latz states God makes homosexual sin

Image
Via:  @jhiscock Minnesota will become the 12th state in the country, plus DC , to allow same-sex couples to marry, following a 37-30 vote of the state’s Senate on Monday. I want you to note one particular comment.  Judiciary Committee Chair Ron Latz  said, “ God made gays. And god made gays capable of loving other people of the same gender . Who are we to quibble with god’s intentions?” This accusation against God's nature, his holiness and righteousness is pure  arrogance. It is possible that Latz is ignorant as to the nature of God , or that Latz maybe referring to another God but not the God of Holy Scripture.  Latz is accusing God intentionally of creating sinful beings, while at the same time scripture clearly declares that God condemns homosexuality as a grevous sin.  Yet scripture says we are made in God's image. That sin entered the world through Adam via Satan in rebellion against God.  Accusing a holy righteous God ...

Did Jesus ever mention homosexuality?

Image
Let's look at the objection that Jesus Himself never said a word about homosexuality. Those who make this argument grant that Paul condemned it as sinful (Rom 1:26–27; 1 Cor 6:9–10; 1 Tim 1:9–10). But the sentiment behind this objection is that Paul had corrupted the way of life and the ideology that Jesus came to propagate, and that Jesus would have been “loving” and “accepting” of homosexuals, just as they are . But is it true that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality? Actually, just like the other objections, there are several reasons for which this objection simply does not hold up to biblical and logical scrutiny. Today let's address five of them. Argument from Silence First, it must be noted that this is an argument from silence, and thus rests on a shaky rational foundation. Jesus also didn’t say a word about pedophilia, bestiality, or rape. But it would be absurd to seek to garner support for any of those abominable acts on the basis of such sile...

Homosexuality is a disordered lifestyle choice

April 24, 2012 Sometimes Christians demonize our opponents instead of loving them. We often forget that, apart from the grace of God , we might well be on the other side of the issue. This is especially true when it comes to the issue of human sexuality . To understand why, we must first remember that, for the Christian, truth is a person: Jesus Christ . We see the world and our place in it in light of the person and work of Jesus. So we should never forget that just as Jesus was the incarnation of God ’s love, mercy, and compassion for us, we are called to model these for our neighbor. Now this doesn’t mean that we should shy from calling sin by its name — on the contrary, sometimes this is exactly what loving our neighbor requires. But we should do this in sorrow rather than in anger and never out of a sense of condemnation — because we know that since none of us is without sin, none of us gets to cast the first stone. So, when we address a hot-button issue like same-s...
