Did Gay activists push Apple CEO?

Image
Brendan Eich speaking on "browser wars: déjà vu all over again?" (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Accolades are flowing today for Apple boss Timothy Cook, who publicly announced that he is gay in a brief  essay  in Bloomberg BusinessWeek . On Twitter, Bill Clinton , Mark Zuckerberg and Richard Branson lead a Mexican wave of admiration. If President Obama and the  New York Times  editorial board haven’t yet said their piece they soon will. The delight in gay rights ranks is understandable. Cook is not only one of the first major business leaders globally to make their sexual orientation so public; the company he leads is the biggest, wealthiest and culturally coolest corporation on the planet. The effect of his move on young people is expected to be huge. But what about the effect on other corporate leaders and public figures? Will they feel pressured, will they be forced to declare their stance on gay rights, and find their career in tatters if it turns out to...

Gay activists launch all-out campaign to stop Australian Christian conference

English: Bill Shorten outside Jason Wood's Boronia electoral office during the Dec'1st anti-WorkChoices rally.http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jason_Wood_%28politician%29&diff=prev&oldid=91283679. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) CANBERRA - Gay activists in Australia have launched  a furious campaign  to convince Australian opposition leader Bill Shorten to pull out of speaking at the Australian Christian Lobby 's national conference this weekend, and to pressure the hotel hosting the event to cancel. While gay activists had previously achieved notable success in convincing politicians to  withdraw from the World Congress of Families  event in Melbourne in August, this case has a twist, in that Shorten himself personally supports gay “marriage,” and is so far refusing to back down.  A spokesman for the Australian Christian Lobby, which is a leading force in the country against redefining marriage, told LifeSiteNews that organizers of the ...

Queering Education: it gets worse!

Image
June 10, 2013 ( Mercatornet.com ) - The logic works like this: If homosexual acts are moral, as so many now insist, then they should be normative. If they are normative, they should be taught in our schools as a standard. If they are a standard, they should be enforced. And so it has come, and is coming, to be. Education is an essential part of the drive to universalize the rationalization for homosexual behavior; so it must become a mandatory part of the curriculum. The infiltration of higher education by LGBT studies is well known. However, less attention seems to have been paid to the effort to spread LGBT propaganda in elementary schools and high schools. Because of the young ages of students K through 12, the introduction of pro-homosexual materials has required a special sensitivity from those who are trying to get away with it. They must avoid the explicit nature of the LGBT courses offered at the college level and disguise the effort in terms of something other t...

Christian compassion requires the truth about harms of homosexuality

Image
By Tony Perkins The media has recently been filled with reports of several recent suicides by teenagers who are reported to have been victims of "anti-gay" bullying. Some homosexual activist groups lay blame at the feet of conservative Christians who teach that homosexual conduct is wrong, as well as pro-family groups such as Family Research Council which oppose elements of the homosexual political agenda, such as same-sex "marriage." The Christians and pro-family leaders I know are unanimous in believing that no person, especially a child, should be subjected to verbal or physical harassment or violence--whether because of their sexuality, their religious beliefs, or for any other reason. Such bullying violates the Christian 's obligation to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, and receives no support from the pro-family political movement. Where bullying has occurred, the blame should be placed on the bullies themselves--not on organizations within soc...

Christian organizations’ ‘Yardstick’ evaluates anti-bullying policies for pro-LGBT bias

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona , August 31, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Two leading U.S. Christian advocacy groups have joined forces to create a guideline to assure school anti-bullying policies protect all students from bullying and are not being used simply to advance the homosexual agenda . Alliance Defending Freedom ( ADF ), in a joint effort with Focus on the Family , has announced the “Anti-Bullying Policy Yardstick,”  which allows public schools and the general public to evaluate thelegal aspects of a school’s anti-bullying rules. “All students deserve to be protected from bullying, not just ones favored by certain political activist groups,” said Alliance Defending Freedom Legal Counsel Jeremy Tedesco. “And all schools need help to ensure that their policies comport with their students’ First Amendment freedoms and other legal protections. This tool is designed to provide that help.” The Yardstick outlines the good and bad approaches to the top 10 most common components o...

Homosexual agenda forced upon lower primary

Cover of Uncle Bobby's Wedding Erie, Illinois is a small, rural town of 1,600 residents in western Illinois , just across the border from Davenport, Iowa...not exactly where you'd expect to find a national controversy brewing over pro- gay marriage school curriculum . It all started when concerned parents in Erie, Illinois got word of plans for a new curriculum (even in a MATH class!) teaching their children as young as 4 years old about same-sex marriage and cross-dressing . Listening to the parents' concerns, the Erie school board voted 5-2 to reject the curriculum introduced by the Gay, Straight, Lesbian Education Network ( GLSEN ). But it didn't end there...now GLSEN has launched a national campaign to pressure the Erie school board into imposing its "Ready, Set, Respect!" curriculum over the objection of parents and taxpayers. Please take 2 minutes to send the Erie School Board a message thanking them for respecting the rights of parents, and urgi...

Bullying in the name of anti-bullying

Image
Image via Wikipedia On Nov. 30, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty introduced Bill 13, The Accepting Schools Act. This arrived on the heels of a tragic and much-publicized suicide involving Ottawa teenager, Jamie Hubley. The teen suffered with depression and happened to also be openly gay. The media dutifully painted the picture that Hubley committed suicide primarily due to “homophobic bullying” despite the fact his father, an Ottawa city councilor, admitted the teen struggled with depression for years. EGALE , the powerful gay lobby group that coordinated and funded lawsuits across Canada to abolish the true definition of marriage, fuelled the media frenzy to create a sense of “crisis,” as if gay teens were suddenly killing themselves left and right. Oh, and of course, the insinuation is that it’s because of bullying at school based on sexual orientation, although there’s no proof of that either. In fact, there is evidence that harassment of “gay” teens may neither be as frequent,...
